Wings, fries

First visit to SS in HHI. Packed house. Fast and friendly service. Wings were extra crispy as requested. Love the shoestring fries with seasoning. Started with a salad that was fresh and filling. Large wrap around bar, tvs with sports on, fun environment. Check them out!

Great food, excellent service. Cool little pub menu with great selections. Never disappointed from burgers to killer mac & cheese. Sports bar vibe, nice long bar with multiple tv's

The food was amazing and it even comes branded! With the wrap I got a side of Mac and cheese which was really good as well, I do think the noodles were slightly over cooked. This bar was crazy busy and very loud. It definitely felt like we were in with the locals.

My "lady friend" and I went there because it was the closest bar to the airport. The food did not disappoint us, although I did find a bone in my pulled pork sandwich. The only negative thing that i have to state is the shape of the bar. We sat at the only two bar stools available, which were at the far left side of the bar. The two bar tenders spent their time in front of the booze and were not very attentive when it came to checking on us. So if you go there do try to sit on the right side of the bar as you walk in. As far as the ambiance goes the attached photos should "speak" to that:

Chicken bacon ranch wrap with fries and Saloon Burger with onion rings, I love this place

Food was 10/10 top tier and honestly underpriced Service made me feel like me and my wife were king and queen, these people really know how to treat customers The ambiance was perfect, being from north Alabama it made me feel right at home here and would recommend this place to absolutely anyone I could, thank you guys for treating us so well

1st time stopping in thanks to the yelp reviews. It's in a dive-y looking strip mall with some other restaurants so you don't know what you're getting into. Once you walk in though, it has a great vibe of sports, TVs and bar atmosphere. It's a smaller space but laid out well. Service (Josh) was great and very attentive- gave some recommendations. It was not busy when we were there so food/drinks were quick. We had a burger, chicken sandwich, wrap and mac and cheese - little bit of everything and cleaned the plates. Each item was tasty and good size. Fries, Sweet Potato fries and tots all nice sides. Would stop in the again, worked out great. There is an outdoor patio on the side.

Went to Sundown Saloon the night before Thanksgiving on Wednesday for dinner. It is a small but happening joint. They have a bar and some high top tables for seating. They host activities at night - for example, Wednesday (when we went) is Trivia Night. The service was great - given it being trivia night, it was pretty loud so kind of hard to communicate but they managed. We ordered the pretzel bites for our appetizer and for meals, quite a few burgers and the steak philly. Everything was hot and delicious!! The fries come in baskets which is cute from a presentation standpoint, but also great to keep your fries from getting wet or soggy from juices/sauces, etc. (that's always the worst)! So, if you're looking for a local, lively spot with potential for entertainment this is a great place to check out or make a regular spot. As mentioned, when there is something happening, it can get pretty loud so if you're looking for an intimate experience, you may want to go earlier/before the entertainment starts.

Best burgers on the island hands down. Good staff and atmosphere. Never a bad time. Plenty of TVs to watch the games.

This is one of those places that has only a few things on the menu, but they do those things SO…read morewell. Their niche is smash burgers and waffle fries, and they did not disappoint. Starting with the burger, I like when a smash burger is ACTUALLY a smash burger. They include cheese and pickles on it and it was just the perfect burger. I think it's pretty high on my burger rankings. Might even beat Heavy's! I feel like it's rare to get waffle fries unless you're going to Chick Fil A, so it was nice to have them with our burger. We got a bag to share and there was plenty. They were salted and seasoned to perfection and perfectly crispy. We sat outside where they have a full bar, a TV for sports, and they had live music.

The Good: The Smashburgers are excellent -- cheese, pickles,…read moreand onions all on point. If you haven't been here, stop settling for chain burger joints. This is genuinely one of the best burgers around. The waffle fries deserve a special mention: fresh, nicely done, and you get a generous portion. Think Chick-fil-A fries, but the way they should be. The Truffle Fries are solid too -- just a bit rich for my taste, but that's purely personal preference. I also tried the Sweet & Spicy Chicken -- good and flavorful, though slightly heavy on the batter for me. Still worth a try. A Couple of Suggestions: A lower-carb side option would be a welcome addition -- I asked and it was a hard no. Hopefully Tin and Tallow considers adding some healthier alternatives down the road. Breakfast -- Proceed with Caution: The croissant with egg and cheese was, unfortunately, a miss for me. The egg and cheese were fine, but buttering an already butter-heavy croissant and griddling it turned it into a flat, gooey mess. I hear there's a biscuit option, which might be better -- but personally, I'd love to see an English muffin or bagel on the menu. Something with a little more structure would go a long way. Bottom Line: Come for the burgers and fries -- you won't be disappointed. Just maybe skip the croissant breakfast for now.

We were lucky to get seated outside because the live music and views were immaculate. The oysters were super fresh.. so fresh in fact we found a little crab in one of them. We got it replaced promptly by our friendly waiter for a new one! I got the scallop risotto. It was good but not my favorite. The sauce was creamy but somewhat bland, which allowed for the perfectly cooked scallops to shine. My mom got the seafood pasta which was fantastic and flavorful. We met the manager who made the effort to talk to and get to know us! If we are back in Hilton Head, we will be back here!

The high-tops outside are great because they're completely covered, while the tables with umbrellas still get sun depending on where the sun is. They have several powerful fans outdoors plus the seating is comfortable with a great view of the trees, boat, and water. The crab punch cocktail was good, but the crab coconut rum tasted a little odd to me (their exclusive brand). I preferred the salty Chihuahua cocktail. All drinks are thankfully strong (everywhere else on the island they were weak). The Jalapeño hush puppies seem like they are made in-house, and they're very flavorful & crunchy. The hush puppies came with honey butter which was also amazing. The lunch grilled grouper fish taco was delicious & fresh. The salsa on it was very flavorful! The house-made potato chips are also great. Service was great (not rushed). They do need drink coasters (water was all over the table). We came back for dinner. They had live music. Abby& Taylor were the two different servers we had and they were both amazing. They did not rush us. The fried green tomatoes were very good with lots of pimento cheese and crunchy unlike the ones we had at Old Oyster Factory. The pineapple Mojito was good. Overall great experience!

It doesn't feel corporate or manufactured at all. More like you've stumbled into somebody's lovingly chaotic backyard dinner party where the food just happens to be genuinely top-tier. The mismatched charm, handwritten feel, and warm atmosphere are part of what makes it so special. There's this brilliant contrast between the laid-back hole-in-the-wall vibe and the seriously refined cooking coming out of the kitchen. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were incredibly tender, fried perfectly, and drizzled with a lovely house-made ranch. The sweet house pickles alongside were such a good touch. We also each had a cup of she crab soup which was beautifully seasoned and packed with tonnes of crab morsels. For mains, we shared the shrimp and grits and completely understood why the recipe has won awards, including being recognised as the 3rd best in the world. The recipe is rooted in traditional Lowcountry cooking but elevated with layers of flavour that somehow still feel comforting and homemade. The grits were unbelievably creamy, and the shrimp and sausage were perfectly cooked with fantastic flavour throughout. We also split the seafood purloo with blackened grouper, and it was equally impressive. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh without trying too hard to be fancy. What really made the experience though was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond. They took time to chat with us about the area, paced the courses perfectly so nothing felt rushed, and by the end we were leaving with handshakes feeling more like guests than customers. Places like this are getting harder to find. We'll absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Lowcountry food served by genuinely wonderful people.
