    Lamb Tikka Kabab SP

Came here today on my lunch break. It's right up the street so an easy walk from me. It was pretty empty when I arrived, and I opted to sit at the bar. They have a variety of options on the menu, although I do wish they had a lunch menu because I didn't necessarily want an entree for lunch. The price point is decent for dinner prices, but not necessarily for lunch. I ordered the lamb kabob which came with a side of rice and salad. The lamb was very well cooked and tender. I did wish it was a bit more seasoned, but it did come with two condiments. One was cilantro based in oil and the other was more of a ranch. The rice had golden raisins in it, so it had that savory and sweet taste and the salad was fresh. I think I'll definitely come back again for lunch.

Bonjon Rumi is a welcome addition to the Glover Park neighborhood. The food is tasty, the service is friendly, and I love that it adds a diverse new dimension to the area. Some of the highlights include: * Mix Maza of spreads including hummus, baba ghanoush, barta, and mast-u khiar - all flavorful and served with copious portions of fresh warm pita bread * Mantu - the dumplings filled with beef were really delicious - it is nice to see this cultural staple done so well * Kabuli Palaw - the rice in this dish is so buttery and fragrant, and the lamb is cooked to perfection * Chainaki - a unique dish that is served with a warm and comforting broth. I liked how different this was from anything I've had before * Lamb kabob - the meat came out nicely cooked, and was marinated in a lot of delicious spices * Desserts - halwa sooji and sheerbrenj - both were tasty and not overly sweet My group's only qualm was that the serving sizes are overly generous on the rice / sides and less so on the main proteins / meats. Overall, highly recommend giving this place a try, and hopefully this establishment can stick around the neighborhood as there has been a ton of turnover over the past 3-5 years.

Food was phenomenal; amazing flavors. Service was quick and our waitress was very polite. Food was so good I had to make this review while sitting in the restaurant.

Best in the DMV. Really great food and great hospitality. We got breakfast on the weekend, I absolutely recommend this restaurant. Thank you to the staff for the experience.

A great new addition to Wisconsin Ave! Visited on a Sunday for brunch. First and foremost, the menu is extensive and has something for everyone! My sister is vegetarian and usually just gets dips at Afghani restaurants, but there were plenty of vegetarian entrees for her and they were delicious and cheap ($9!!!) Our group started off with the cold mezze platter, which set us off on the right foot w hummus, baba ganoush, barta, and mast-u khair. We then got the sabzi, buranee bademjan, qorma chalaw, and morgh karahi for our mains. All of the dishes were delicious and we had plenty of food with enough for leftovers too! The restaurants decor is also lovely and the servers were kind and incredibly helpful as well!

    Food: Quality, authentic, delicious...

WOW! Spectacular! Delicious! Delightful! The food was made with detail on the plate and with love. The taste... Perfect!

Came here on a random Sunday for lunch. We sat down right away. The place is really cute with a greenery wall. It looks like it's a two level place, could be wrong about that. The staff is friendly and service was great. The food was good, but I wasn't a fan of most of the dishes we got. The food was fresh but something felt like it was missing. I should also mention I am Afghan do it could be a regional thing, where different regions spice their food differently from other regions. The aushak wasn't bland for me and I'm not used to eating it fried. It tasted fresh. The sambosa, the filling was great but it was in the same breading as the aushak which I felt took away from it hitting the mark for me. I'm used to having it in a much more flaky phyllo. Minus that it was how I always like them. I should also mention I can't do sour yogurt, just doesn't taste good to me. It seems like they use sour yogurt in a lot of them dishes. I'm used to plain yogurt with garlic. We got this stew dish which for me was bland as well. The lamb was very soft and melt in your mouth which I liked. Overall, the food is fresh and is good, it's just my personal preference that didn't allow me to love it, which is not the restaurant's fault, it's me not them. I would recommend people to try it still.

The space is gorgeous; I love all the plants, and the light brown, light blue, and white color combination for their furniture makes the space look classy and modern. The light brown leather couches are comfortable, and I love the way they circle around the tables to create a natural, cozy booth. Our food was just as beautiful as the space. The Restaurant Week menu comes with an appetizer, main, and dessert. Given how indecisive I can be (and how expansive the normal menu is), I was grateful to have my choices narrowed down a bit. I started off my meal with the octopus. The octopus was remarkably tender and not overly chewy, and had a delightful char that gave it a slightly smoky flavor. They double downed on the smokiness with their burnt chili oil, which, alongside the lemon and salsa verde, gave the dish a wonderfully balanced smoky, savory, and slightly acidic flavor. The crushed potatoes had a lovely crispy shell on the outside and served as a great base for the tender octopus. The main course was probably the easiest choice of the evening -- I'm absolutely obsessed with branzino, so the second I saw it on the Restaurant Week menu, I knew that was what I had to get. The fish is beautifully broiled, with a nice, crispy skin and super tender, flaky flesh. It's topped with a few pieces of roasted garlic and a wedge of lemon. The fresh lemon juice, as well as the lovely side salad, offered a great pop of freshness to bring the whole dish together. And finally, for our dessert, I chose the chocolate torta. This wonderful dessert is remarkably rich and decadent, with a strong dark chocolate flavor. It's topped with a lovely marsala date sauce and scoop of sheep's yogurt ice cream, but still doesn't feel overly sweet. The sheep's yogurt in the ice cream offers a bit of tanginess, and I loved the addition of the candied walnuts for a bit of crunch.

A five-minute walk towards downtown from the Mayflower hotel made Tatte Bakery an ideal spot for breakfast. It also has nice views of Farragut Square.
