This place was absolutely amazing!! We stopped by in August on our way through on a long road trip. We care a LOT about food. This place did not disappoint! We will be back if ever traveling through again. The staff was friendly and service great, and we chatted with a couple local customers who said it's their favorite spot. Everything about it was great. We just shared an order of kung pao chicken. It was outstanding, I mean as two people who's even plenty of "Chinese" food, it was the best kung pao by far. If you're going during lunch time they only serve their lunch specials so don't trust the menu being advertised online...the food came out within minutes of me ordering and unfortunately was very cold. All I could really taste of the shrimp was the brown sauce it was smothered in, however I did appreciate the amount of veggies that were included. The hot and sour soup is nothing to write home about...I liked the tofu in it but the broth tasted ketchupy. Coming from Ct & having had sushi in Japan, Hawaii , Boston and NYC - I was a bit apprehensive about having sushi in Whyoming. But I was desperate for a sushi fix and oh boy , did they fix me up. We ordered apps , soup both egg drop & chicken rice. The egg drop was so different from any I've ever had & was delicious. Chicken rice was full of vegetables and chicken . It hit the spot! Lomein was outstanding served hot and covered with a delicious sauce that we shared and raved over. My sushi deluxe was healthy portion and a nice assortment of fish . This is the first place ever that I didn't have to ask for extra wasabi or ginger. The restaurant was very clean and awesome staff . This is just one more reason to move here:) read more

So I am going to go out on a limb and for a sushi place in the middle of Wyoming this was and should be a spot everyone should hit up. The service here was a 5 ! All the guys working here last night were so good. Inside while it was something before was clean and well kept. For food can't remember everything but highlights were the spider roll, cooked mussels and the unagi. Everything came out pretty quick and had great flavors. I did like how the rolls were smaller and not so over stuffed with rice but had more fish and other ingredients. Restaurant is not really that busy. The lighting is somewhat dark inside, but maybe it was dark to prevent too much heat/warmth inside restaurant? I was pleasantly surprised to find this place in Rock Springs as we were passing through. There are definitely regulars that frequent the restaurant for the sushi. I didn't feel like having sushi so we opted for the Chinese side. The dishes were pretty good. I think they adjusted flavors to the community, which is a smart business decision. Happy enough to have a sushi place option here at Rock Springs. I had the Happy Boat (take out) which was plenty of food for one person. Although this is not where one might consider an authentic Japanese restaurant, the flavors I thought were influenced with traditional Chinese ingredients. This may be a good or a bad thing. I've visited Rock Springs 2x and both times I've stopped in to have dinner. The service is fast, friendly, efficient. The building is an old Wendy's nicely converted to open sitting. Very good sushi. Fresh ingredients are key to good sushi and they definitely deliver. I ordered the Volcano Roll which comes loaded with a pile of "onion hair" on top. This little gem is a solid 4. The service was excellent and the food was good, and the prices were very reasonable! I had a yummy salmon teriyaki lunch that came with a bit of seaweed salad, rice, a portion of a California roll, and a big batch of vegetable tempura! A lot of food for under 16 bucks. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the portion was huge. My spouse had the chicken teriyaki and it was the same for her- she couldn't finish the meal. Good place to go if you're in the area! I ordered the shrimp lo mein for my meal, after trying to order another meal and being told that they were out of one of the key ingredients to make it. (NOTE TO BONSAI: If you list something as a key feature in several of your menu items--in this instance, it was snow peas--then you should make sure to have it on hand. Not exactly a rocket science notion!) The shrimp lo mein was just fine and there was plenty of shrimp in it. My partner ordered the chicken with broccoli and said that it was good as well. An amazing sushi place for its location. Didn't expect this from our stop between Boulder, CO and Jackson, WY. It's located in rock springs so about 5 hours drive from Boulder and 3 hours from Jackson. We visited this place on a Saturday around 1pm and there was only three other tables. The service was really quick as we got our food in less than 15min after placing our order, maybe because it's due to the low volume of customers during our time. We, party of two, ordered the fried jalapeños for the appetizers and it came in 4 pieces. Was really good if you like spicy food. For main dishes we went with the the California roll (8 pieces), Vegas (10 pieces) and the Tsunami (10 pieces). It was a really good portion for two people felt really full afterwards. I would highly recommend the Vegas as it was our favorite dish. The tsunami and the California rolls were good but nothing special. Overall I great place to stop by in a long road trip. read more

The eating space is huge. The service was friendly and efficient. The miso soup was good and the avocado rolls were edible but disappointing. We had the pu pu platter for the main course and every item on it was delicious. I thought the foil wrapped meat (pork? or chicken?) was a pain to unwrap and eat, but it was tasty. I've been here no less than 6 times this year since April. The service and food quality are always above average and we always leave stuffed. The Dragon roll and Rock Springs rolls are among the best I've had. Anywhere. The portions are large for what you are paying for and you will always leave satisfied. read more

I'm just passing through the area; I wouldn't tell anyone not to come here, because it wasn't terrible. I also wouldn't tell anyone it was great, or even good.
