Such an adorable NY deli with some great lunch options. We got a bunch of spicy & curry chicken sandwiches, with chicken nuggets and an avocado salad. They even have fresh OJ. The owner is really nice, the service was great and the seating outside is very serene.

My friends and I came in on a Saturday morning and there was a very short line (only a couple people ahead of us). There was a Halloween street fair going on this street, so there was live music and great people watching. The staff was very friendly and gave us great recommendations. I split the cubano (hot sandwich) and brie & turkey (cold sandwich) with my friend. We couldn't decide which was better - they were both delicious. It was also very reasonably priced for how big they are - $10-12 per sandwich. We'll definitely be back and would definitely recommend it to a friend! However, there is VERY limited seated inside so I recommend taking it to go.

Very cute pick up lunch spot. On a nice day you walk across the street and have lunch in the park. I've order the streak sandwich and the chicken sandwich. You get to choose your bread for each sandwich which is a plus. Both sandwiches were good and filling no complaints. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall a good experience and I will be back.

COVID report: there are a few benches outside (unheated), otherwise it's takeout only at the moment. Grabbed a few sandwiches and snacks one weekend. Prosciutto and provolone panini was too salty for me, but I absolutely loved the French ham and havarti sandwich. Almond croissant was also amazing. Spinach timbale was great, too. I'd definitely come back for that sandwich!

one of the best sandwiches I've had! I got the #15 salmon sandwich on ciabatta and the beet salad. the staff was incredibly kind as well.

Amazing place for a Saturday morning coffee or afternoon lunch. Incredibly welcoming owner and pleasant atmosphere!

( 9 ) Traditional Chicken Salad Sandwich

Prices have gone up significantly since I started eating here, while serving size has come down. Service is friendly here but plan on waiting at least 10 minutes for your sandwich. My $12 chicken salad wrap today was mostly lettuce (blocks of it) and little to no chicken salad.

Spinach frittata (okay), swiss-mushroom-spinach timbale and avocado-tomato salad (incredible)

I love this charming West Village spot; it's been open forever, and just now am I finally scooping up its goodies. My favorites: - hazelnut coffee - mushroom, swiss, spinach timbale (wowsa good) - creamy avocado and tomato salad I've also heard their chicken fingers are incredible, so I'm going back for these. This spot is no-frills, adorable charm, and you can sit at a wooden table inside or a bench outside and watch the world go by (ah, sigh). 5 stars!!!!!

Cold sandwiches #6 and #7!

I am French, born and raised. I was craving a real French sandwich on French bread. Bonsignour hit the spot. I had a French ham (of couuuuurrrrssseeeee), with Havarti cheese, tomato, lettuce, mustard and herb mayo and it was divine!!! The baguette was a little over cooked for my taste, but it was still delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch, sitting at one of the lovely wood benches facing the sun outdoor. My friend went even more French and had the ham and cornichon one. She also felt the bread was a tad bit too hard. I am so happy I finally got to try this place. Next time I crave a sandwich, a real one from home, this will be where I go!

Roast Beef sandwich. Delicious!

Bonsignor is flat out awesome. There's a reason why there's a line every, single day: the food and staff are fantastic.

One of my favorite quick bites in the city! The chicken curry is superb, as is the meatloaf hot sandwich.

Really yummy selection of Italian subs. Beware of long wait times when they get busy, but in my opinion, it's worth the wait.

Very cozy cafe serving yummy hot chocolate. Bonus PTs for having soy milk for a fragile lactose intolerant like me.

SLOW and righteous about it. Half an hour for cold sandwiches, that were mediocre at best. Made on yesterday's bread.

The coffee is the star as it's very reasonably priced and tastes great. No matter your preference on how or the kind of coffee/espresso drink you like, they'll be able to meet your expectations. From time to time they do tastings of some of their beverage offerings as well as just random up coming offerings through distributors. Worth a try for sure. Only downside is wish they were open earlier on certain mornings

One of the few places around you can get an actually good croissant! I occasionally indulge in the mac & cheese as well. They have an array of fancy-ish sandwiches and entrees. I haven't had a lot of their menu, but they briefly had pizza (maybe they still do?). That I cannot recommend. It was basically a frozen grandma pie with little to no sauces and very thick bread. For a place like this, I was surprised that the liquor prices. are actually better than many of the straight up liquor stores in the area. Interesting craft beer selection that rotates. The beer is actually pricier by comparison than the booze. But it all depends on your taste. I love their beer selection when it's heavy on the IPAs, but when they go heavy on the sours I get a bit sour...

On our way back from New York, we picked up our car and wanted one last quick, authentic food…read moreexperience before heading home. I had been saying for days that I was craving a good Italian deli sandwich, and my partner came across Vito's & Son Italian Deli in Hoboken. Well, it does not get much more authentic than this. What an experience. You know how some Italian restaurants say they make you feel like family? At Vito's, we actually felt it the moment we walked in. The welcome was warm, genuine, and immediate -- the kind of hospitality that cannot be faked. As we browsed the extensive deli menu, I had to ask what "mutz" meant. I am from Chicago, where we usually say "mozz," so this was my first time seeing it written in what I can only call New Jersey-ian. Without hesitation, they gave us a sample of their fresh, in-house-made mozzarella, and it was absolute perfection -- soft, fresh, creamy, and exactly what fresh mozzarella should be. We took several subs to go, and every single one was delicious. I had The Vito's, which was incredibly satisfying -- packed with that classic Italian deli flavor and everything I had been craving in a sub, and then some. My partner had The Sophia Loren, which was also full of flavor and definitely worth ordering again. My mom had what I ordered as a custom Caprese sandwich since I could not find it on the extensive menu -- mutz, fresh basil, tomato, balsamic vinaigrette, and herbs. It was so fresh, simple, and delicious. We also tried the arancini. The traditional one brought back memories of what used to be some of the best arancini in Chicago at Monastero's, which sadly is no longer around. That is not a comparison I make lightly. The cheese arancini was also wonderful, and the sauce was divine. Personal preference: I could have used just a touch more salt in the sauce, but the flavor was still excellent. Of course, we could not leave without dessert. The cannoli had the perfect balance of softness and crunch, and the filling was delicious. And naturally, we had to take home a pound of that fresh mutz. When we got home, we turned the leftovers into the perfect little Italian deli dinner. We thinly sliced the remaining halves of the subs, added fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, balsamic vinaigrette, and wine. It became a charcuterie-style dinner that felt like the perfect ending to the trip. Taking a detour through Hoboken was absolutely worth it. Some Italian restaurants claim to treat you like family, but at Vito's & Son, we truly felt it. We are already planning another stop on our next trip because we still need to try the homemade freezer dishes -- and, of course, the homemade tiramisu. If you have not been to Vito's & Son Italian Deli, do yourself a favor and go. Authentic, welcoming, delicious, and completely worth the detour.
