    Steven's Duck Hero (~$19)

Ordered: Steven's Duck Hero (~$19 on Grubhub): turkey, roast beef, cheddar, sweet peppers, horseradish dressing; added lettuce, tomato, onions, light mayo Aya's take: No one does Italian sandwiches like a New Jersey deli! I've tried a few in the area and finally made my way to Vito's. There aren't too many sandwiches on their menu without pork so Steven's Duck Hero caught my eye, and of course you can build your own sandwich if you want something in particular. Great ratio of toppings & ingredients. The turkey & roast beef were fresh and balanced. I actually loved the horseradish dressing and the light mayo addition complimented it really well. The veggies and sweet peppers added freshness and a nice refreshing crunch to each bite. Really the only negative was the hero itself was too chewy and not super fresh. Outside of that, very solid sandwich! It's a great size sandwich to share but if you decide to have it all to yourself, just know it kept me full for 6+ hours! I would come back to try their fresh mutz. Highly recommend trying out Vito's!

Really good deli spot in Hoboken. For the price and portions you get is really affordable. If you come after 2pm, they have a happy hour where sandwiches are $8. The roast beef and mutz and Vito's hero were both delicious. I do wish I got the peppers in the roast beef. Service was fast and workers were really nice. I would come back to try all their sandwiches!

Ahhhhh I really wanted to like this place. Saw some good reviews about there Taylor ham egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches. I placed my order and was waiting some time. They told me it wouldn't be that long and I wasn't in a rush so I said no problem. Now another 15 minutes go by and people that came in way after me were getting orders. They were all very nice but they either forgot my order or messed up the first one and had to make it again. That would have been fine but they were acting clueless and after some time that gets annoying. I thought the food would make up for the service but it was just ok. The Taylor ham egg and cheese was not cooked enough and was super thick. Bread wasn't good. The Vitos omelette breakfast sammy was also bad. The bread tasted burnt but was also oily and mushy. Real weird combo. I would maybe eat there again but certainly won't go out of my way. Waited over half hour for 2 sandwiches that were not good. Someone else should have stepped in to help or ask why I was still waiting there.

Got various subs with "mutz" added and once again it surpassed my expectations. The lines are long, about 5 to 10 minutes wait on average. Fresh very cold cuts and greens. Bread is top notch, chewy and crusty. Mutz has a interesting layered chewy texture and very creamy. Cozy seating outside.

So, no shade to anyone but....there's Subway, and then there's Vito's. I had to stop eating at Subway sometime ago. The quality drastically reduced and it just didn't hit the same for me. Last summer, a friend and I came across Vito's. We were craving a good hero/cold cut and checked out some of the reviews and saw that they were good, so went inside. We ordered turkey heroes and they were EXCEPTIONAL. Now I know some may think that it isn't hard to make or find a good turkey cold cut, but trust me, it IS, and I've had many bad turkey cold cuts. It's quite disappointing. What really makes a bad turkey cold cut bad, is, well, the turkey lol. You can taste when it isn't quality turkey, when it's processed, etc. It just doesn't taste the same. When tasting these turkey cold cuts from Vito's, the bread was amazing, the turkey was amazing, it was fresh and filling! It was also good service. The staff took our sandwich orders and nailed them! I went back last week for another turkey cold cut and it was also more than exceptional. So simple, yet exceptional. Thank you for quality heroes, Vito's. I need to go back to try some of their pastas and sauces because everything is simply made and authentic. I will absolutely be back. Also, they have a happy hour, everyone! I forget the pricing and details but it's great! Go check'em out!

Great place, small inside. They have available seats outside. Sándwich was awesome. I recommend you stoping here for a yummy experience.

Would give this place 6 stars if I could. Everything here is straight forward and to the point as a Hoboken deli should be! The space is small and usually crammed with people ready to order but you can grab a menu and stand outside to deliberate if needed. The food is amazing, my top faves being the Smokey Hero, Fresh Mutz and the Veggie Mutz sandwiches; plenty of veg-friendly options and random fun Italian-deli packaged items. Be ready to order at the counter to make things easy for everyone. Always had great service here and if you're a fan of garlic, try the garlic spread!

Yes yes and yes. This is the spot for anything Italian deli. You might be able to walk by on Washington street and not notice this place but...I doubt that because the smell catches you first. And then you turn and see all the traffic in and out of this place. That is a tell tale sign that this place is solid. I will say this about the food. This is one place where it's my mission to try every deli sandwich they have. Not to compare and find out which is the best...but just to try them all. Staff is super friendly and quick. Food is amazing. Location is amazing. There is literally nothing holding anyone back from coming here and experiencing this awesomeness. Price is spot on for the food you get and the quality....consistent and amazing. If you are in the area, you have to come in. You have to find a sandwich. You have to eat said sandwich. They have some seating out front. Grab a chair. Eat good food. People watch as you eat. Look at all the people that walk by and start eyeballing your food as you eat it. I'm hooked.

Chicken cutlet with mutz and roasted peppers

Got a cannoli ($3.75) and a chicken cutlet hero ($12.95) with mutz, roasted peppers, and pesto spread. The chicken cutlet was fresh, oily, and crisp. The mutz is as good as losurdo's but not as good as Lisa's, Fiore's, and Biancanomo. The pesto was $1 extra and I didn't even notice it, so it wasn't worth it. The sandwich is about 10 inches and less than half as stuffed as a Biancanamo sub. Overall, they make a high quality sandwich and their chicken cutlet is the best, but I would go to Biancanamo, Fiore's, or Lisa's for better value and better mutz

Got Vito's for the first time this weekend. How have I not been here sooner?! Got the Vito's Hero and the Chicken Sorrentino. Both were delicious! Vito's Hero is definitely going to be a re order. We also grabbed the Buffalo chicken pasta. That was phenomenal. Don't pass that up!

Stopped here on our way out of NYC. Had seen the place featured online and on TV and wanted to stop in and get lunch on our way out of the city. This is located on a nice recently updated street with diagonal parking and large sidewalks. The inside of the deli is pretty small and could be overwhelming if you're from out of the area. I would say if possible familiarize yourself with the menu so you don't stand looking at the menu boards. Staff was friendly enough - not overly pushy they could smell we were from out of town. But nice enough. There was so much stuff I wanted to try and buy - they have premise pastas and sauces you can buy which I should have gotten, as well as meatballs and salads, cutlets etc etc. Ended up getting the Smokey hero which has two types of mutz (mozzarella) pesto spread and tomato. This was really good - would've liked to have more spread though. Would come here every time we are in the area and try something new. Also brought some mozzarella back to have this week. Looking forward to that.

We were super impressed with Otto Strada. We arrived early on a Friday and were happy there was no wait. Reservations are not accepted. We chose outside seating and we got a lovely seat in the shade under the covered area. We were greeted by Jeremy who offered us water. He was friendly and we had a nice conversation. He was new with the restaurant, but knew the menu well. It's nice to see a young man working and have pride in his job. Our waiter Chris arrived soon after. He was a great waiter. He was also super friendly and was able to help us navigate the menu and helped me with Gluten free options. We opted for the pear salad. I got a limoncello chicken and my husband got a pork chop. All the food was super delicious. It's a challenge for me to get a good meal being gf and dairy free now and this was perfection. Chris was able to put things on the side and recommended the perfect dishes! We had dessert also which was a GF banana cake with Gelato. It was delish. My only complaint was I thought the desserts were small and a little pricey. If priced a little less, we would have ordered 2 or 3. All in all it was a perfect experience and evening, and we will be back soon! Highly recommend!

The space was not large, but they really made the most of it, offering a decent number of tables with reasonable space between them. My friend and I were quickly seated and immediately greeted by a charming server that opened our bottle of wine (it's BYO) and offered us still or sparkling water. I had read in other reviews that you had to pay for water, so I was not surprised by the $6 bottle of Saratoga that wound up on our bill. In addition to our engaging server and the happening atmosphere, the food was similarly incredible. We decided to order a load of things to share, so that we could try a greater variety. We started with two appetizers that were seasonal Spring additions to the menu. The Hamachi Crudo included five thickly-sliced, tender pieces of Japanese yellowtail sitting in a broth of rhubarb aguachile and topped with white strawberries and basil seeds. It was an unique blend that we would not have expected to work, but boy was it delicious! The sweet toppings infused a load of flavor into an otherwise mild fish. We also enjoyed the Fava-mole, a creamy puree of fava beans studded with balls of hand-pulled mozzarella and pea tendrils, all drizzled with zesty ramp oil. I had not been sure what to expect from the dish, but it offered fresh, bright garden flavors. We also decided to share a pasta course and an entree. The Fettuccini was tossed with spring truffles and maitakes in a light, yet heavily aromatic, wild mushroom cream sauce. It was one of the best dishes I had had in quite some time. Then, as we were waiting on our seafood entree, we received a second pasta, courtesy of the Chef. I had mentioned that I had heard rave reviews about Flour from a server at Heirloom Kitchen, a top NJ restaurant. Apparently, our waiter had let the Chef know about that glowing praise, and the kitchen further verified that positivity with the generous gesture. In fact, they wound up sending out the Linguine with white clam sauce, razor clams, and wild ramps, the other dish about which I had been most curious anyway. Well, it was another winner! It was garlicky, herbaceous, and rich with flavors of the sea. Speaking of seafood, we next received the Branzino 'Bahn mi', a perfectly cooked piece of Mediterranean sea bass with Vietnamese sausage and pickled vegetables. The branzino's crispy skin and flaky, moist interior were excellent, and we loved all of the other smoky and briny flavors on the plate. After all of that excellent food, we would have loved to try one of their appealing desserts, but we were just too full. Between the ambiance, welcoming vibe, and delicious cuisine, our Flour experience was simply divine! It has now became one of my favorite restaurants in the area, and I cannot wait to try their pizza at some point as well.

I was a big fan of both, especially the ricotta, which was so incredibly creamy. For the mains, everyone's fresh-made pasta was excellent. I ordered the Mexican street corn, which was unique, flavorful, and delicious. I also tried some of the spicy rigatoni and loved it. We ended the night with the s'mores dessert, which was rich and chocolatey. Also, the fact that the restaurant is BYOB is a huge plus! The only downside was that I lost an item during our visit. I had a really hard time finding their contact information online, so I had to go back in person to ask about it, which was a bit annoying. Ultimately, they weren't able to recover it, but the food itself was still outstanding.
