Stopped by Daily Provisions to order breakfast on a Wednesday morning. There's seating indoors (with low back stools) and seating out front (about four tables). I had to run to work after an appointment so I ordered for takeout. The person taking my order was friendly. I opted for the Lumberjack and a black cold brew. I received the drink very quickly, with a short wait for the sandwich. While waiting, one member of the staff stocking up supplies on the side started chatting with me and then she offered to check up on my sandwich. She came out with it shortly thereafter. She was very friendly and helpful. The sandwich held up well during my 15-minute commute to the office. It is a really indulgent sandwich, with each bite revealing the sweetness and butteriness of the maple crueller, the saltiness of the thick cut bacon, and the savoriness of the cheese and the eggs as the yolks popped. I sipped the cold brew in between bites to cut the richness. It was a very satisfying meal. The Lumberjack is not something I would recommend you eat every day, but it's good as an occasional treat. In the past I've ordered lunch from Daily Provisions via delivery (the "Chefy" salad and the chicken milanese with arugula salad are my favorites), but I might start adding other breakfast sandwiches to the mix. read more

I've been here a few times but today I finally came early enough to try the famed Lumberjack, a B.E.C. sandwiched between a maple cruller. It's delicious. The peppery, thick bacon and the quite sweet, icing-topped cruller are a beautiful study in contrasts. The egg was nicely runny. I will say that's it's definitely not a good on-the-go sandwich, as it falls apart easily. However, I don't think this is a great spot for coffee. I was a bit underwhelmed by my latte, which tasted more like thin drip coffee than a rich, strong espresso. I also think they could offer more sweetener options. read more

Sometimes a plain, room temperature English muffin is not going to do it for breakfast. Today was one of those days that I need subsistence to get me through the morning. Something with eggs, and meat, and a hot beverage as winter is fast approaching. Anything else would do fine, but the first two were an absolute must. Daily Provisions fulfilled those obligations. Though pricey, and probably why I will not return, they make one tasty breakfast sandwich. It might even outdo Panera! If only I could see how it is made rather than just wrapped and packaged for me, with me assuming they just took a pre-packaged sandwich and heated it up. I really hope they do not do that. The taste of it tells me they do not, but I have to surmise. I also got a hot chocolate, which is super rich. It is not super hot, but if you are not careful you could have an accident on the sidewalk because of the milk they use. Drink it slow and steady. Or pace yourself between sips. Do not let the body recognize this is full of the things that make bowel movements happen. Thankfully, I held my ground. They also sell crullers. I love a good cruller. Choux pastry donuts full of rich flavor, without all the density of an actual donut. This one may be too rich. It is also quite expensive. Nearby Donut Pub does a better job with them. I had to be careful eating this. Being careful and knowing how much it cost to get a breakfast here are what keep it a three star review. However, their offerings will keep you out of the cold and give you strengths on days you need to be picked up. read more

We stopped by Daily Provisions, as we had heard about their popular crullers - We ordered: +a Maple Cruller +a Cinnamon Cruller +a Chai Cruller +and, a Blueberry Lemon Muffin The crullers were a little cold, even though we got there in the morning; not sure if these are made in advance or not. These basically tasted like churros. The highlight was the Blueberry Lemon Muffin - while small, these were moist and had tons of blueberries, which is pretty rare in a muffin; the lemon flavor was also pronounced. You order up at the cashier, and they pretty much bag up your pastries and/or just call out your order; wait times can vary. Staff were friendly and efficient! I was looking for a nice place to grab tea or coffee near the office, and this quickly became my go-to spot. It's super convenient -- right by 14th Street-Union Square -- and they make a great cup of matcha. What I love most is the outdoor seating with heat lamps. Sometimes I just need a quiet spot to sip my drink and not talk to anyone, and this place is perfect for that. The vibe is really relaxed, and prices are pretty reasonable for the area. The only downside? It can get really busy, especially during peak hours. Once, I ordered a matcha latte and another coffee, but didn't realize my drink was ready -- it sat on the bench for about 15 minutes, so it was cold by the time I found it. My fault, but still a little sad! All in all, it's a solid café for a mid-day break, a quiet moment, or a caffeine fix near Union Square. I came here on a Sunday afternoon and it is a small shop with some high top seating but they also have outdoor seating. The wait was a little long but I came to order the chicken salad sandwich. In terms of personal preference, I wasn't a huge fan but it was just a little TOO herby/green for me. But the cucumbers made it very refreshing. Ive been coming to here for years today is no exception. On this visit I ordered the tried and true crullers. This time there was a coconut passion fruit variant with the maple. Also included was the tuna salad sandwich. As usual all were fresh and consistent throughout. I really enjoyed the seasonal passionfruit coconut cruller. Daily Provisions was our escape from the rain of a cold December morning in the Union Square area. We stopped in for a something to drink and a bite to eat when our original plans were thwarted because of misleading internet information about a nearby location. Anyways, a quick search led us to Daily Provisions where we snagged a couple of seats in the small space and enjoye a quick drink and pastry. The staff are extremely friendly and hostpitable, but the place is SMALL. This seems to me more like a quick morning coffee stop considering its location and the size. Nonetheless, the food was good (my friend ordered an avocado toast that was very tasty!) I could see this being a great place for locals to get their morning fix or a quick bite in the mornings. read more

Daily Provisions is a chain of trendy cafes throughout Manhattan. It always clean with friendly employees. I'm there early for coffee so seating isn't a problem. I love the Everything Croissant that's reasonably priced. The coffee is very good and always hot. If you're shopping in this neighborhood I recommend you try this location. read more

Came back in December 2023,, so this is an update... while I come here mostly for the BEC sandwich, this time I had the patty melt and added avocado, cause, see above review....the Patty melt comes with carmelized onions, some kind of sauce and American cheese on rye. This thing was so damn good! Highly recommend. Only downside was the wait, since I didn't specify to the girls in the front that I was a pick up order, instead of an in person order, I waited longer than I should have, and the front was mobbed with people waiting and delivery people. I think Daily Provisions has outgrown this space. I hope the managers/owners are reading the numerous reviews that talk about the crowds here. read more

come for the cruller doughnuts but stay and try everything else, too! located a couple of blocks north of Union Square (the are several locations in the city), Daily Provisions is a top-notch cafe serving up quality eats from morning to night. stopped here a bunch of times from the past winter to now. the crullers are excellent. there are typically three flavors to choose from: cinnamon; maple; and a rotating one like chai...i'd say my constant favorite is the cinnamon cruller though--simple and delicious...a dusted cinnamon sugar crisp exterior + a soft pillowy inside makes for an enjoyable doughnut. the caramel chunk cookie is a TOP-TIER cookie. dabs of caramel + chunks of chocolate housed inside a firm-on-the-outside soft-on-the-inside cookie. molasses spice cookie is a sweetly spiced cookie that makes me think of winter where it's cold outside but you're huddled inside with a warm drink and a tasty cookie. oatmeal cherry cookie is just not for me. chewy and got the dried cherries, but it doesn't leave you with that "i must order this again." that said, i'm not an oatmeal cookie person. this wb a good cookie for a vanilla ice cream cookie sandwich. hmmm the brownie and muffin are great baked bites as well. the coffee is consistently good and pairs well with the baked eats. a lot of places don't consider what coffee beans they use...Daily Provisions clearly do bc the coffee, imo, doesn't overpower eats like the crullers. there's a breakfast/lunch menu + a dinner menu filled with lots of savory options. most recently, i ordered the Herb Chicken Salad Sandwich. enjoyed this sand bc it was satisfying without being overly heavy. the chicken salad is flawlessly seasoned and isn't super over-the-top creamy (which is a good thing win my book for chicken salad). the chicken was cooked perfectly--not dry, not wet...just the right amount of moistness. thin slices of cucumber + greens round out the sandwich and add that Spring/Summer freshness. the bread is simple goodness. a simple sandwich with quality ingredients will always make for good eats. the interior has several tables and a small bar area. this location is a bit cozier than the West Village location. it can get busy really fast, but ordering takeout is easy and headache free. there's a Daily Provisions app now, i believe. the shining stars of this Daily Provisions location other than the menu are its staff. superfriendly and hospitable--these things are not a lost art for the people making and serving your food at Daily Provisions...the workers, here, make your experience pleasant. and it's genuine. if you are the kinda person who claims to be a "New Yorker," but haven't been here...you are missing out on a lot and you're likely not a New Yorker. lol read more

crullers are great, do not skip them (coming from someone not super into doughnuts or sweet pastry). great texture, good balance, blueberry buttermilk was awesome. the breakfast sando however was a whole lot of bread, a nice egg (wet), and the sausage was pretty bland, this ate super dry. Definitely grab the hot sauce for this but I wouldn't get it again based on this experience. The coffee was decent but latte was a heavier milk ratio than usual. read more

Daily Provisions know what they're doing. Make the trek to go here for breakfast because it's worth it and I don't think you can go wrong with any item here. I went with the bacon egg and cheese sandwich ($8.95) and their maple cruller ($4.95). I'll admit it, i'm not the biggest BEC fan and this one might have changed my mind. It's so simple yet every single component seems so thoughtful. The bun is reminiscent of a kaiser with poppyseeds and when you add some white american cheese, a runny fried egg, and thick cut berkshire bacon you'll understand why this place is so popular. The best part is probably dipping the sandwich into the egg yolk that spilled into the bag. The cruller though was hands down my favorite. It's a crispy dark golden brown on the outside but the inside is soft and almost creamy. It's not dry one bit and that maple glaze is out of this world. It doesn't taste artificial at all like many other maple glazed. I will definitely be back just for the crullers it's so good. I highly recommend ordering online so that it'll be ready when you get there since the lines can get pretty bad in the mornings. They also run out of their pastries/crullers so go early! read more

Donuts are one of those things that if you don't catch them fresh, they're totally different and sometimes not worth it. I've come later in the day (6pm) and while I was still able to snag them, they were nowhere as good. Also, these are the BEST donuts in Manhattan, and maybe the entire city. They are delicate, warm, crisp, and have such a nice perfect, just thick enough glaze around it that really brings home the flavor. That blueberry frosting is sweet, bright and acidic. That cinnamon cruller o m g..... like eating the freshest best churro ever. The lemon one is also soooo good and bright.
