My Iced Americano was not bitter at all and my girlfriend really loves her Iced Macadamia nut milk latte. The food menu consisted of "brekki" (breakfast) and lunch "Sandos" (sandwiches). I got the Bacon and Egg roll and my girlfriend got the brekki sando all in a cute Togo bag so we could share at Union square park. This is a smaller shop with only a couple tables out front, so be prepared for that during peak hours. The portions were perfect and flavors were on point. New location in Gramercy! Just opened for about a week, next to Caffe Panna. You can't miss it. The setup is very similar to the UES location. They have sandwiches, salads, coffee, juices, smoothies and a few tea options. There are two tables outside for eating. This location is right next to Caffe Panna, the very popular ice cream place where people are lining up for it. That's how I found this Hutch and Waldo. What a great addition to the neighborhood! There are flies ALL over this place, the food doesn't look appetizing the way they serve it to you. Kale has to be massaged for it to be edible- here they just throw it in the bowl. The chicken literally looks white like it's been microwaved from a Tyson farms bag. Service is at least quick but likely because nothing they make here is fresh. Very disappointing to say the VERY least. I ordered the harvest bowl which was complete waste of money. If it was my mostly edible, it would be a waste of calories too. The chicken was so tough and dry it would kill a bird if I threw it. I'm 100% sure it's been in the fridge a while because it was beyond what any overcooked chicken would even taste like. I paid an extra $3 to add kale thinking it would make the bowl more of a salad and they sprinkled three literal pieces of it on the bowl. It's the audacity for me. Especially when a whole bag of organic kale costs $5 at most. The detox juice was 95% percent sweetened lemonade. Definitely not what I was expecting. Both celery and cayenne pepper are pronounced flavors. If I can't make them out, what was really in the juice? I will say, the other accompaniments such as the avocado, was fresh, sweet potatoes were cooked well and the pumpkin seeds were a good touch in the bowl. Hence the one star. I have been coming here almost every morning for the last two weeks and have tried four of their breakfast sandwiches which are all good, but the breakfast burrito is phenomenal. This place has excellent energy, with open glass sliding store front that pours out onto the sidewalk on idyllic Irving place. But back to the breakfast burrito... I am an egg sandwich enthusiast, and let me tell you it's very hard to find a place that doesn't murder their eggs by over cooking them. You know this place is different right away when they differentiate preparation technique between scrambled eggs and soft scrambled eggs depending on the dish. The breakfast burrito is definitely one of those things that is way better than the sum of its parts. The fluffy soft scrambled eggs are perfectly complimented by a super crispy tater tot that magically is part of every bite. Then you have the shredded cheddar cheese and super light salsa that seem to merge with a perfectly gooey chewy wrap that is grilled on the outside for a little extra crisp. YUMMMM. Check out picture for some proof and please go experience for yourself. AND PLEASE do NOT stop making this delicious concoction. On the pricier side but the food proportions are large and I enjoyed my meal and drink. My friend always gets their burritos and is obsessed with them. Decor is modern and seating isn't very comfortable nor is there much of it. They definitely could be using the space better to have more tables, so you may be waiting around to sit. Hutch and Waldo's is easily becoming one of my favorite places in NYC. I have never actually been in this location but I have ordered their harvest bowl 5 or 6 times now on Grub hub and uber eats. Their service is super quick and my bowl is always still warm when it arrives. My favorite aspect about this place is that it has great portions. I primarily do not order Uber eats because I feel as if everytime I order form a restaurant the food is sloppy and not very appetizing. However, every time I have ordered from H&W I receive fat harvest bowl with enough chicken to send me into the 4th dimension. Whatever you guys are doing, keep doing it. Love you. read more
