    Banana Latte
    Cyrus A.

Dog friendly? Check. Good coffee? Check. Creative food and drink items on the menu? Definitely a check. I'm picking up what Hutch and Waldo is putting down. It's great to have a branch in this neighborhood. While the space isn't particularly large, the seating is pleasant, especially at the outdoor tables when the weather is nice. The coffee is consistently great, from a drip or americano to a latte or flat white. I also tried one of their seasonal drinks, a banana latte (also available with matcha instead of espresso), and it was outstanding. Come for the drinks, grab some "brekkie," and enjoy your time in a peaceful alcove just off Union Square.

    BREAKFAST BURRITO

I heard this place had good breakfast burritos, so I decided to give it a try. The base price is $14, pretty standard for NYC, but the add-on charges? Wild. They charge $4 per topping, which is honestly obnoxious. I swapped out black beans for avocado and added bacon, and somehow that cost me an extra $8. Was this burrito worth $24? Absolutely not. The "extra" toppings came in what felt like less than a spoonful each...barely noticeable. And with everything already packed inside, there's hardly room to add anything substantial. Let's be real: $2 per add-on would've been fair, especially when you're subbing something out. A $14 burrito? Reasonable. A $24 one? That's a joke. I get that prices are up everywhere, but this just felt like a straight-up money grab. Not cool.

Delicious chicken sandwich. Counter service was quick. Outdoor seating on lovely Irving place. Quiet comfort

A small cup, not HUTCH ACAI BOWL

Long time Gramercy resident and I have ordered and eaten from there before multiples times there's is something very unsettling about ordering a $19 açai bowl and receiving a small cup. Not only is this false advertisement it's beyond disappointing that you're paying a high ticket price and receiving a mediocre açai bowl that was far too small and tasted far too average.

Cute coffee shop on Irving Place. They are grab and go which makes it doggo friendly. The candles, lotions, and other products that they sell in addition to food and coffee seemed high quality.

Good coffee spot with open seating options on peaceful Irving. The Australian spot offers the same type of menu and drink offerings as other similar places around the city so there isn't anything unique. Here's what you should know: 1. Coffee and drink options are good and prices are comparable to others in the area. 2. Food is on the pricier size but the portion is fine, especially for breakfast. 3. Breakfast burrito is so plain... there are better options. 4. Nice staff. 5. Open air seating and setup is one of the best parts of this cafe and really what makes it a go to spot. Good choice for the area overall.

    Iced latte

I've only had coffee here, but yum! It's not cheap, but I'd rather pay a little extra and enjoy a delicious coffee, rather than get one from a big chain and not like it (or have to doctor it to make it drinkable). Have you noticed Aussie cafes have the best coffee? I had a flat white last time (we found this place by accident) and it was good enough that I skipped other, closer places and went here. Today I got an iced latte. Smooth, not bitter, not watery, not burned. It didn't need any raw sugar, but I was naughty and added some because the occasional crunch is yummy and fun. They also have a little container of dog biscuits and a couple of bowls of water for furry friends. How thoughtful is that?

Great breakfast burrito! Ordered online and it was ready quickly! Definitely would recommend!

    Brekki sando

Very cutsie, very demure! But seriously Hutch and Waldo hit all the right notes for coffee and "brekki". The espresso was great! My Iced Americano was not bitter at all and my girlfriend really loves her Iced Macadamia nut milk latte. The food menu consisted of "brekki" (breakfast) and lunch "Sandos" (sandwiches). I got the Bacon and Egg roll and my girlfriend got the brekki sando all in a cute Togo bag so we could share at Union square park. This is a smaller shop with only a couple tables out front, so be prepared for that during peak hours. The portions were perfect and flavors were on point. If you are in the area and want a quick morning bite definitely stop by. I'm kind of a coffee snob and I felt like I could be a regular at this Hutch and Waldo!

Great casual spot for breakfast or lunch. It's mostly a place for takeout but there are two two-top tables and a counter with three chairs if you want to sit in. The food here is delicious and healthy! The coffee and juice is also good. And the portions are quite good. Would highly recommend for something quick, casual and healthy.

Absolutely horrible experience. Ordered a chicken sandwich and tater tots. The tots were incredibly old and dry, couldn't eat them. Got an egg burrito instead of a chicken sandwich. Got my meal to go so i didn't notice until it was too late. I'm actually shocked by how bad this is.

New location in Gramercy! Just opened for about a week, next to Caffe Panna. You can't miss it. The setup is very similar to the UES location. They have sandwiches, salads, coffee, juices, smoothies and a few tea options. There are two tables outside for eating. This location is right next to Caffe Panna, the very popular ice cream place where people are lining up for it. That's how I found this Hutch and Waldo. What a great addition to the neighborhood! I got the ham and cheese croissant sandwich to go. Delicious! Definitely a great place to grab a bite and have some coffee too. Thanks for the sandwich!!

Decor/actual restaurant: This particular location is very small and tight with limited in-store seating. The interior is cute, I like the blue color theme they have here. For a restaurant designed for to-go orders, I believe that there could be more waiting room and a couple less chairs. Service: Like many "fast food adjacent" restaurants, the people who work there have good customer service but I imagine deal with the worst. I know they're doing great with the situation they're in. Kudos to them. Food: this is probably my harshest critique. I ordered a pesto chicken sandwich, and it was fine. I don't believe it was worth the $16 I spent though. The chicken was kind of bland, tasted similarly to frozen grilled chicken pieces you buy from a grocery store. I do wish there was more sauce. The pesto tasted good but overall there was too much bread. I fear you would be better off making something like this at home for a comparable price. The bread was good, just too much. I don't want to base the menu on this sandwich alone, a lot of the menu options sounded delicious, but this was just the experience I had!
