There's so much we love here! The pasta dishes, garlic bread, chicken salad and my addiction; the banana pudding.

We went two weekends in a row both Saturday and Sunday to try several recommended items. I was very happy with our different selections of both breakfast and lunch items. We took a container of chicken salad home ( lives up to the hype, I really liked it) I wanted to be able to try other hot dishes at the actual place. You can't order eggs to go and expect them to be perfect so you have eggs there and you won't be disappointed. The croque madame was delicious as was the omelette Gigi. We tried a cheese burger and fries which were terrific! The fries were not soggy like some reviews implied but again, fries don't travel well, eat in! The roll exceptionally fresh and burger temp was perfect. I also tried the turkey club on multi grain, tasted great but a little light on the turkey for me. We took home desserts ton enjoy later when we were not so full. I am going to be very honest about these... we bought 2 banana puddings based on what the reviews said. I was disappointed with the consistency. One container was perfectly creamy and delicious but one had almost no marscapone or cream. It was very dry and I didn't enjoy it. The tiramisu we got was again very light on cream or marscapone. Tiramisu has to have a lot of cream the lady fingers were very dry not soaked. The cheescake was delicious. to be honest I would try each dessert again to see if it was a fluke on being so dry.As I mentioned one of the banana puddings was perfectly delicious. The server 3 out of 4 times was Ashley and she gets 5 stars from us for sure. Cheerful, sweet and knowledgeable of the menu. Food came quick and she was very attentive. Place is very small som it is not easy in dead of winter ton get table but we did each time. 10:30 has been the sweet spot for us. Finally dragged my dad out for a late lunch. He's a picky eater (no fancy foods for him!) but was happy to order the sausage and peppers sandwich - with fries of course. Unfortunately and maybe surprisingly they don't seem to offer a meat lasagna but their positive reviews convinced me to stick with them--I selected the spaghetti with meatballs ($15.95) instead. Ordering was a cinch through Yelp. The spaghetti with [big] meatballs wasn't bad but I was actually way more delighted by the mushroom salad ($5.95) side I ordered. I used to order all the time from the breakfast restaurant to go to my home and in ordering a side of bacon for my breakfast received this massive ball of hair /dust and dirt on top. Reliable, unpretentious little deli/diner with the menu leaning Italian, and very reasonable prices relative to Hoboken. I always dine in, because it's BYOB. I usually get the Italian menu items, and they nip at the heels of some of the more expensive "gourmet" Italian restaurants in the area. Personally I'd rather have a parm dinner for $17 that's probably 80-90% as good as a $30 one, with a larger portion. Sometimes I just want to get out of the house and eat a good, big dinner with my own wine and not spend $70 on the Hoboken dining scene paying a hefty markup for the drinks and ambience. The burgers and fries are also quite good. Hoboken lacks BYOB burger spots, this is the only good one to my knowledge. The service is always attentive and friendly. Food comes quickly and hot. I don't mind tipping extra. Again, this is a casual neighborhood diner with most of their business appearing to be takeout and delivery, so set your expectations accordingly. This tiny little place is a true gem. There is outdoor patio seating as well as a few tables inside. I strolled in Sunday morning for breakfast. There was no wait and only three other tables had diners. I had an iced black coffee. I didn't watch it get poured but however they prepared it was perfect. The coffee wasn't watered down by the ice even when I was down to the last bit. It was bitter or burnt. Just perfect. I also ordered a taylor ham, egg, & cheese on an Italian roll. And omg their Italian roll is the money maker. It was fluffy on the inside and just barely toasted on the outside so that it had a crisp bite. The grease from the fried egg soaks into the roll and slightly moistens it. It's not soggy and not dry. Needless to say, I devoured it.
