The kind that makes you reconsider your life choices and tip heavier than you planned. The beers? Cold enough to make a penguin flinch. The rolls? I don't know what they're putting in those things, but I'd commit minor crimes for another basket. The steak...I'd give it 9 stars. The dessert? Absolutely disrespectful. We haven't eaten here in probably a year because of our poor experiences. While this wasn't near as bad as prior dining, it was still mediocre. Service was slow and our waitress didn't check in often. So when food arrived before drinks, and we didn't have app plates, and we didn't get ranch with our wings, or we were missing a side, or we didn't get exactly what we ordered ... it made for a frustrating experience. This time the food was probably on the better side that we have had, although my medium steak was def chewy and more rare than I ordered. It was a pretty quiet Sunday evening, not very busy. Last night paid well over 30 dollars for a 14 ounce ribeye that was so thin the mushroom slices were thicker than the steak, its was dry overcooked and literally inedible!!! After 4 bites I couldn't force myself to even eat it. Extra thin steaks aren't advertised and this steak raw would not have made the display case!! It was so thin.. Last time !! Im done with This steak house!!! Eating out is way to pricey to have throw away over 30.00 dollars every time I come there and a gift certificate to receive another crappy steak I'll pass on.. The manager at the Quincy Illinois location needs some customer service skills. Ken Dixon is his name and he is the rudest GM I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. We had a customer issue at the store and when he approached our table, we politely told him the issue and he argued with us about it and acted like we were lying to him. It was baffling, strangest encounter. Not only was he rude but when we were leaving the restaurant he was clearly talking about us to another employee. Completely unprofessional behavior. My wife's steak was ordered medium well and it came out rare.. .. her salad was missing four out of the five toppings. My son's steak was ordered rare and came out well done. ... He ordered onions and mushrooms on his steak and he got none.. My barbecued ribs were the absolute worst ribs ever eaten in my life.. They had no flavor and they were absolute mush... The only thing that was correct was the mac and cheese and applesauce that my daughter had and you really can't screw that up. I had an excellent server named Miriam and she helped my wife and a i have a peaceful amazing time to connect as a couple. I was there at a non peak time which is key as it gets hectic in there some times. This is the only time i ever left a 40 percent plus tip - her service was superb and allowed me to focus on my wife and have amazing food at the same time. Tonight 4 of us at 5:15 PM ate at the Quincy IL Texas Roadhouse. Some strange things took place. They were totally out of diet soda, shish kebabs, & baked potatoes. Hard to believe. It took two times to get the steaks right. The second set of steaks were excellent. The waitress, Jewels, was EXCELLENT. With all the problems her personality remained very pleasant. In the end the Roadhouse, without our urging, gave us a certificate for two more meals. In summary the restaurant had problems but the final result was excellent. Highly recommended!! read more

I came here a few weeks back with some friends and it was packed! There is lots of seating and parking. For a busy Friday night the waitstaff was on their A game for sure. They have a full bar and have a wide drink selection. I've never been to a Texas road house before so I wasn't sure what to expect with the food. I ordered the pulled pork which was pretty good. But their cinnamon butter for their rolls was so so bomb! Their fries are good as well. But the cheese fries I will have to pass on. Not the best. read more

When I left here tonight I figured the problems were due to the snowstorm and the location being short staffed. But now that I've read a handful of other 1-strar reviews, it seems the issues are ongoing at this location. First, (constant complaint about many restaurants) if I order something like a salad with blue cheese dressing, and the server asks me if I want blue cheese crumbles, and they're going to charge extra for that - TELL ME THAT WHEN YOU OFFER THEM! OK, I ordered my steak medium rare with a side salad and loaded baked potato. Salad came out in about 5-6 minutes - no problem here. The steak and potato came out about 3-4 minutes later. That tells me they fired the steak as soon as the ticket printed in the kitchen. The other piece of evidence to his fact is that the steak was still cold in the middle. They missed medium rare by about 15-20 degrees. I ask the server to have it cooked more and to make sure they bring me a new potato so it isn't dried out under the heat lamp. Kitchen manager brings me the re-cooked steak and a new potato. He sets it down and says "Do me a favor and cut into that so I can see it". Sure, I guess I came in tonight to "do you a favor" after your kitchen undercooks my steak and pushes it out when I'm not even halfway through my salad. I cut into it and it was fine. No apology, no explanation from the manager. He just acknowledges my acceptance and walks back to the kitchen. Two bites of steak and on to the potato. No butter in the potato, very little sour cream, way too much salt on the outside of it, and the potato itself was room temperature. This is maybe the third time in my life I've sent food back at a restaurant. And it is the first time I've even had anything other than a stellar experience at a TRH. I travel a lot for work and this is my "go-to" restaurant exactly because of their ability to get it right every time at every location..... except this one. The only positive aspect of this experience was Yuri, the bartender that was serving me. Worked his a$$ off to keep up and kept his cool. So, despite the poor kitchen management causing several issues, he received a 20% tip. Maybe this guy should be the location manager. read more

Service was excellent. We were seated immediately. When one of us didn't order a salad but wanted one, his arrived in minutes. The food was delicious, portions huge. When they didn't have a rare 12 oz prime rib available, my husband was given a 16 oz for the same price. Contrast this with the reviews that said the exact opposite. The food tastes great but NOT really great with allergies. My daughter has a dairy allergy, so we asked if there was dairy free margarine for a baked potato and since they didn't have any she asked for a double order of steak fries, food comes and my husband asked if they put butter on her steak, had to wait 5 minutes to find out they did! They took her steak back and she had to wait another 15 minutes for the new one and when the next one came out the guy bringing it seemed very confused so we asked if it had butter on it and he was "pretty sure" they didn't put any on but had to wait another 5 minutes to find that out. At least she got an extra serving of fries and was able to eat that while waiting. So if you go here and have a food allergy BE CAREFUL and make sure you check everything twice to be safe. read more

Everyone had something different to eat, the one thing in common were all glasses had debris stuck to them. I asked for a new glass and received another with material on the outside. I ate here a couple days ago and can't help with think about how good our service was. We were there Sunday night. We spoke to our server and she was very kind. I believe her Name was Amber! She had mentioned she works every Sunday night and now we almost want to come back to see her every sunday night! She was funny, sweet, and very attentive. As a chain there is little differentiation across the restaurants however wait staff attitude and cleanliness is the way I can tell that the location is well run or not. This location isn't well run. This location is filthy and needs repair. As a party of three we were sat in a booth. I noticed that the table had water damage on one side and when the condensation from the air conditioner dripped into my hand and arm I knew why the table had water damage. As I looked around on the floor I could see puddles of water next to the row of booths. And the was water damage on each booth base. Which would make me believe that these leaks had been there for a while. The manager was happy to move our party however she was going to put us in another water damaged booth. When I refused a booth citing the dripping water and that I didn't want it to get into my food she said well now I have to find a server in an exasperated tone. I am sorry that I didn't want water on my food and felt as if I had put her out. Air conditioner condensation water is clean I suppose but if I am visiting a restaurant I would like it to be without water dripping into my food. The remainder of our visit was OK. Food was OK. When we left however I noticed that our previous drippy water table was set ready for the next patrons. I interpreted this as we don't care just come in eat, pay and leave. As we waited for our food I noticed that the window at our booth had extremely dirty blinds with food on them. And the bottom of the window frame was in need of cleaning as there was dirt and food packed in the channels. The same accumulation of food particles and dirt was across all the window booths. The decor was dusty and the floors were just gross. You could see the build up of grime along the base boards and corners. Maybe Texas Roadhouse management will see this review and send someone out to validate my observations and clean up this location. Please! read more

Not very pleased about tonight. So I make a call-ahead around 5:45 for 6:30, a little under an hour ahead. I pull into the parking lot at 6:00 hoping that I would get a table sooner, given I only had a party of 2. 6:30 rolls around and I'm still waiting on a text to go inside. Still nothing. At around 6:50 I'm get a little impatient given that I showed up at 6:00. At this point I just give up and go to another restaurant, when I get to the other restaurant at 7:00 I finally get a text that there would be a table ready for me. I was beyond mad. I'm normally very pleased with Texas Roadhouse, because I come frequently. But tonight, I don't know. There where a lot of people that where coming out when we had gotten there. So I was getting really confused and frustrated. I will still always love the great service here. But tonight I wasn't impressed. read more

Ate here with a friend the other day. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. She made some suggestions and told us her favorites on the menu...by her recommendation, we tried the rattlesnake bites and we were not disappointed. I ordered the steak medallions which ended up being too much food for me, but all of it was delicious. My friend ordered the bbq pork and really seemed to enjoy it. The best steaks ever. The setting is wonderful. I enjoy the staff and their candor. They are very polite and inviting. I enjoyed interacting with them. They make sure you have everything you need too. I only have two suggestions. They might as well give up that time when they drop everything and stop and sink and do that little dance they do. It is not Coyote Ugly and it just sets them behind. It is easy to see who is really into it and who is not. Sometimes the choreography is not there. The only other feel that irritates is the seating is a bit too cramped. Midwesterners are thick and a bit overweight. They need to remodel that and open the place up a bit. Give a little more space in the booths also and in between them. Sometimes people attempt to place a chair on the end of a booth for a larger person and suddenly no one can more or get out of their seats sometimes at other booths. read more

I travel for business and usually go to Texas Roadhouse. They all differ a bit. Mainly staff, cleanliness and food. Seemed like the bar staff were off tonight. I hate posting negative reviews publicly but last night was terrible. Had to wait an hour for a table for 4 but when you look inside there were lots of empty seats. Noticed right away no beer on tap. So I asked for a Shiner Bock in a bottle. Waitress left and came back. No Shiner. Ok. Sam Adams. Leaves comes back. Nope but we do have Stella, Heineken, and rattles off list of others. What about Blue Moon. Yes. Leaves comes back. Sorry. Out of that. Corona? Nope. Only Corona lite and she went to check on the Stella and Heineken and we're out of those too. I finally found a beer that they had Dos XX and ordered with a lime. Wife ordered a tea. They were out. Had to brew fresh tea. No big deal. 30 minutes later, she had her tea. I figured I would put in an order for a second beer that way it would be there when I was ready for it. 15 minutes later I had to ask if she put in an order. Food was fine. Salad, steak and sweet potato. Asked for sauce ahead of time because nothings worse than getting your hot steak and then waiting as it gets cold to eat it. Finally got my second beer. No lime. Asked the waitress for the lime that I requested. She leaves...comes back. Sorry. It's too late to slice a new lime. We close in half hour. I could get you a lemon or you could use your old lime? I bit my tongue and did it complain. I mean, there's $100 about to go down on this meal and you're too cheap to slice a 25 cent lime. So what's the deal? Why no taps? Why no beer? Is the store worried about stocking too much and getting indoors shut down again? 9 times out of 10 Roadhouse is fine. I feel like there's something majorly messed up now. Management? Staff? Lord knows it's impossible to find good help but it rolls downhill. Whoever's running the show is doing an awful job. I had a waitress named Kam that was awesome. Good place to eat-in. Avoid for curbside. I've only ordered curbside from Texas Roadhouse twice in the last year. The first time the food was cold and today was no different. I did the text option this time which didn't work. I texted "here" twice 10 minutes apart and got the same response: "Sorry! Your order isn't ready yet. Please stay in your car and keep your phone handy. We'll text you when its ready. -Texas Roadhouse" After waiting a total of 20 minutes, I walked up to the window and low and behold my food was magically there. All cold and soggy, of course. Food was okay, I ate at the bar and the server was very considerate and helpful. Unfortunately I ordered a full rack of ribs to take home, I live about 45 miles away, and when I got home and opened the package to share with my family there was only a half a rack. I was charged for the full rack so was extremely upset about it. Of course not worth the drive back. Someone seated next to me when I was eating ordered potato skins and got cheese fries. When the server sent back to correct guess what they delivered. . . cheese fries.
