We really enjoy chatting with him and learning about the house and its history. In the morning you get a delicious home cooked breakfast from Johannes. Take a tour of the house, Johannes house (across the street), or walk some trails and enjoy nature. It's an amazing and beautiful experience and we plan on coming back every anniversary. The Cambria is in line with other mid-tier properties, so don't expect a luxury stay, but they have housekeeping service, a full restaurant and bar, a mini convenience store, nice outdoor patio with fire tables and a pool (which was closed in early March). I'd certainly go back to this property. Only two issues: there are no other restaurants within walking distance except for a Five Guys, Chipotle and Firehouse, so you need a car/uber to get out to eat. And they missed housekeeping one day which was a minor inconvenience. Not too distressing, just could have used fresh towels. But a very nice mid-tier property with excellent staff!

After booking the venue tour over a week out, we received nothing from the venue (pricing packet, etc.) until we were on the way there. Once we arrived, no one was there to greet us and we had to walk around the venue searching for someone to host the tour, which other reviews have mentioned. After the conclusion of the tour, I was told the date I was interested in was available. Two days later, I contacted the venue and expressed my intention to pursue booking the date. After not hearing back for quite a few days, I called twice and was finally able to get in touch with the event director, who again verbally confirmed my date was available. After getting excited about having a date and moving forward, I received an email that there was a miscommunication and the date was indeed booked by someone else. I understand mistakes happen, but it should not have been confirmed without further review. On their behalf, they did offer a discount on an additional date. After we finally received the contract for our new date, we felt the need to add addendums to include facility maintenance due to the fact that lightbulbs were out over the ceremony space when we toured (with a wedding taking place in three days). Once we presented the addendums, the entire tone of the event director changed. They became very defensive, rude, and condescending. We toured plenty of venues that would be willing to bend over backwards to make your wedding day the best it can be. Seemed to be the total opposite here. It felt as though we were viewed as just another number and they wanted to be very hands off. In my opinion, be advised that you may struggle with communication, lack of professionalism and disorganization.

The…read moreupstairs of the home has been redone and renovated to be very feminine-- fresh white walls, individual vanities to get ready at, and plenty of space for day. The ballroom--- with no decor is absolutely stunning. High ceilings, large chandeliers, the walls lined with large windows and of course the black and white checkered flooring. Once we added in decor it was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. If you're getting married here add greenery to the chandeliers for a big WOW factor. The cocktail area outside it's lined with market lights and has fire pits-- the perfect place to entertain guests once you add one of the venues bars. And finally the ceremony space is covered-- which was perfect because it started to lightly rain at the beginning of our ceremony. It also has the market lights, the red brick steps, and a large beautiful white porch. There are lots of restrooms around the venue which was perfect for hosting a lot of people-- I've been to weddings where there were lines for the bathroom and no one likes that. The grooms quarters are perfect if you're a guy that loves poker, drinking, playing games, and relaxing. The grounds are kept very sharp and there are so many places to take pictures. Now-- Amy Plyler is the venue event planner and also who we chose to be our wedding planner--- you have the option to choose an external coordinator but you would be silly to because there are so many perks to hiring Amy and her assistant Jannah. They are an amazing team and made sure everything ran perfectly the day of. I had the most beautiful wedding and I did not stress at all day of because I put my trust in them. When it rained-- they quickly pivoted. They remembered all of my small details and arranged all of our decor perfectly. Even things I thought I'd forget or didn't think about they were there to help. They also have a lot of things you can use at the venue which saves you from spending extra money. They are simply the best and I am honestly sad I don't have reason to talk to them on a regular basis now but I will certainly keep in touch. Have your wedding here. The waffles didn't have syrup. If you stay here don't come for the breakfast!

My room was spacious, clean, and had a nice size bathroom. I did have some trouble connecting to the wifi for some reason but the front desk agent talked me through some troubleshooting options. The free breakfast was nice and a great grab and go option before I hit the road. I would definitely stay here again on future trips to Charlotte.

Dozens of times until the 15 minute window closed. Waited 15 minutes, tried again. Same. Called directly. Manager took my phone number and room request. Promised to call back. Half hour later, I went to booking.com. 3 tries later it went through. Told this to receptionist on check-in and was told the person who I spoke with was manager!?! Hotel is clean, room looked nice. However, sink was cracked. And then the clunking started. We heard something in the bathroom that sounded like it was randomly hitting the walls. It wasn't long, and stopped, so we laughed and went to sleep. At 5.45 the next morning, someone took a shower and it wasn't so random. End of our sleep. Then a second...I recorded it, got dressed and went to the desk. Played it for night desk person and showed him sink image. He added it to notebook. Went to room, more random clinking as other guests used their water. Quickly packed, headed for breakfast. Reported again, playing audio for morning manager. "So sorry". That's it. Meh Word of warning...nice looking hotel, but if you have any room issues no matter how late it is and unpacked...CHANGE ROOM.

The place is practically brand new but it was hard to figure out where the main entrance was to check in at because of the lack of signage. I would definitely suggest some signage and a covered area to park under while checking in. The staff was very friendly and had a very pleasant attitude. The room was very large and had a stove fridge and microwave. The bathroom was spotless and had plenty of towels shampoo and soap. All and all we were very pleased with the place and the only thing that surprised us was the additional twenty five dollar fee for our 10 pound dog and the lack of a free continental breakfast for the price we paid. That being said this type of hotel seems to cater to the guest who stays for an extended period of time. Would we stay here again? Yes we would.

The only problem was there were two body washes and one conditioner, no shampoo. The room has plenty of outlets. The complementary breakfast was very good, largely because of Michelle, the Breakfast Hostest. The scrambled eggs were the right consistency and hot, breakfast sandwiches were hot, and the bacon crispy. You could tell she takes the extra effort to make sure the breakfast is delicious. She also greets all the guests and make everyone special. So overall, a good stay at a very reasonable price. One glitch that would have made this a bad stay. But Michelle and everything made this a very good experience..
