To be honest, I wasn't expecting a great trip. I'd had issues at Choice Hotels in the past. But this week was so different! Impeccably clean and uber-gracious hospitality from the staff. Shout-out to Janet in the bar and Candice at the Front Desk! The Cambria is in line with other mid-tier properties, so don't expect a luxury stay, but they have housekeeping service, a full restaurant and bar, a mini convenience store, nice outdoor patio with fire tables and a pool (which was closed in early March). I'd certainly go back to this property. Only two issues: there are no other restaurants within walking distance except for a Five Guys, Chipotle and Firehouse, so you need a car/uber to get out to eat. And they missed housekeeping one day which was a minor inconvenience. Not too distressing, just could have used fresh towels. But a very nice mid-tier property with excellent staff! read more

Such a great spot for a hotel. We were there for a tournament at the nearby, rock Hill, sporting and events center. We could walk to dinner, we could walk for a snack and we even walked for lunch. There is no need to drive anywhere, unless you absolutely have to. The options are endless, and only being added to! Upon arrival all was well and pretty simple. (Except for parking which I will elaborate more later.) We ended up getting to our room and discovered we had no ice bucket and no coffee or coffee cups. So my husband had to go downstairs to ask for some. They never brought us our ice bucket and while my husband got the coffee and coffee cups we didn't realize we had zero sweetener or cream. It was one more trip and late at night. We decided to forgo that. Next night, same thing. Did not have any ice bucket, coffee or coffee cups so had to go back downstairs and ask for some more. Keep in mind, this was also after housekeeping came in and while making our beds and replenishing, some of our towels, still did not put in an ice bucket, or coffee and coffee cups. Another thing, is the parking deck we were supposed to park in, had signage all over the place pretty much demanding to pay before we leave the garage as we parked. Fortunately, this was our second time at this hotel, and I remembered that the hotel charges for parking. If I had not known that already, we would have double paid for parking: paid the parking deck owners, as well as the hotel fees. It is imperative that Cambria lets their patrons know about this so this way it leaves less confusion upon arrival. read more

We were in town for a family event and the hotel was reasonably priced and conveniently located. The staff was friendly and the room was very clean. The hotel does not have carpet in the rooms so unless you have a top floor you will be kept awake by the people above you walking and I guess moving furniture - we did not have a restful stay. Our room had an adjoining door with close to 3" gap between door and floor - so much that you could see the shadow of the people in the room. A rolled up bath towel was needed to block out the light. If we decide to visit again we will definitely request a room on the top floor. read more

The room and decor are wonderful--corporate has this place set up for success, however, it's suffering from poor management: The complimentary shampoo and conditioner were empty. The bathroom door is a barn-style sliding door but the way it is hung leaves a nearly two inch gap in the side where anyone else in the room can see directly into the shower--so there's limited privacy, should one desire it. One of the complimentary glasses was used by a previous guest (as evidenced by the lipstick/lip gloss prints on the side) but simply returned to it's resting spot like it was clean. In the morning, the water was *cold*. That's a cardinal sin for a hotel. When I went to check out, the front desk asked how my stay was and when I mentioned the cold water, she said they were aware and that maintenance was working on it. Advice to management: follow in the footsteps of other hotels and proactively send an email to your guests and let them know you're on it. Don't wait until someone complains to try and convince them you're in the process of fixing it... I left thinking that this hotel probably never has hot water. read more

Stayed here for a family wedding and this was booked for us on behalf of the wedding family. Very beautiful hotel, rooms are very clean and big. The bathroom is big compared to many other hotels I have stayed in. The staff was very nice and the property is very clean, I would absolutely come back and stay here. read more

I have never in my life had such a positive experience in a hotel before. We had to evacuate Asheville due to Hurricane Helene. I was too overwhelmed to get everyone's name, but the staff here is absolutely amazing. I saw their entire team going above and beyond for my entire stay. They lead with patience and warmth. The only name I can remember is the housekeeping manager, Tim. He was just so kind to my family. The bar tender made my kids laugh, the front desk ladies listened to me cry. Hello friends, As I told a friend, I don't give many 5 Star reviews. But when I do, I do. Cambria has only been open 3 weeks according to the bartender (Ben. I'll get back to him shortly). When I arrived the young man at the desk greeted me. He was checking someone in and assured me he would be with me shortly. While waiting I took a look around. When coming through the front door the lobby is huge. Where the "restaurant" and bar greets you in the middle of the lobby. Between you and that are a few nice high back plush chairs, couch, I think a fireplace. I see I'm typing alot so I'll wrap it up soon. The young man was ready to check me in. That process was quick & easy. He spoke about the Rewards Program. Gave me info about the bar and the food (see pix). After i got to the room, i ventured back to the bar. NICE. Round bar. BEN (The bartender) 5 STARS alone. Gave recommendations for food. Gave info on drinks. Very personable. Gave quick tour of the patio (Nice, Spacious, 2 Fire pits, Swimming Pool) The Room??!! Diamond member here so take it what I say to heart. Typically the Cambria's are my fav in the Choice brand even over the Ascend yes. Here I thought that I had stayed @ all the Cambria's in the country but hey I found another one. This location is fairly new yes and it still has that elegant factor when u walk in as well as into your room. The beds are extremely comfy & I always love the showers. The issue I had here was the food offerings. Zero that's it they didn't offer anything. Well ok a chocolate bar but that's it. I've stayed in 141 hotels so far this year and 90% of them are already offering hot food again due to Covid. But I've always held Cambria's to a higher level of comfort and offerings. I mean heck they even give u $10 credit to use in the bar or restaurant. Here there's nothing and I'm still paying $140+ per night to stay. The staff when u check in and check out are always top notch but the issues with food and beverage fall on the shoulders of someone else that we never get to meet to voice our concerns too. Come on let's get with the program here. Make the deals that need to be made with your vendors and get the items back in stock. Hell if there was even pre made sandwiches for dinner that would be better than an empty shelf staring @ your customers. I did hear they are building another Cambria not far from here so I'll be checking that one out soon. Hopefully with another one going in that close ( rare to see that by the way ) will make this location step it up. Outside of that this location is top notch. Rooms have that awe factor that are very nice & I don't mind paying for that but let's get the other stuff lined out ASAP management. Your customers pay attention to those little details read more

Pros:. The rooms were nice. Rates were fair. Cons: I arrived at 2:45 (check in is officially 3:00) and was told my room wasn't ready. I came back at 4:30 and there was nobody at the front deck. I waited about 20 minutes and finally flagged down a maid. I asked her when someone would be there to check us in. She just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. Someone finally got to the desk about 10 minutes later. He said my room was not ready. Another couple came in and got their room right away, ahead of me. Same type of room, 2 queen beds. The desk clerk apologized but rang up $50.00 more than the on line charge. He said that was to cover incidental charges and would be refunded if there were no "incidental charges.". He then got upset at me, saying he had already explained it. He had not. A smile or thank you never crossed his lips. Pathetic customer relations. We will probably never stay there again! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I travel for work pretty regularly and have never been treated so poorly. The bar staff was lovely, but the hotel staff left a lot to be desired. I strongly suggest you stay elsewhere. I will never return. read more

We found ourselves in a situation where we had no choice because our original hotel was sold out once we arrived. The rooms are clean, the staff is very accommodating and everyone we met was nice. We stayed for a week but it was overall pleasant. Good location that we were able to Lyft and walk to local restaurants and grocery stores in the area also. read more

My husband and I got married two weeks ago and we selected Cambria Hotel as our host hotel for the weekend. Gerald and the rest of the staff were A+ and really went above and beyond to make sure our guests received a warm welcome. Our guests all raved about their 5 star experience with Gerald, the beautiful hotel room and the cleanliness of the hotel. Communication with Gerald around our hotel block, reserving a room for our family gathering before the wedding and food selections were all a breeze and exceeded our expectations. The rooms are really clean. The bathrooms are amazing. The beds are really comfortable. You get a mini fridge. They have really great breakfast. They have a little shop in the lobby. They is a pool and two fireplaces. The workers are really nice and helpful with anything you need. There is a really good car wash. Come here if you want a really good hotel. read more

The lobby and the room was clean and efficient and the location is conveniently nestled near stores and the interstate. However the star rating is rated poorly due to the unprecedented behavior of the front desk receptionist by the name of Sharon was rude and dismissive never welcomed or greeted myself or family as we walked through the lobby.In fact she was giving evil snare looks. She even accused my family and I, for overstaying when we paid for a late checkout. She should have confirmed with her staff or professionally inquired about my check out status before falsely accusing me of overstaying. I asked for housekeeping services due to the extended stay and needed items in the room to be replenished and a room refresh. Of course the request was not accommodated. This type of customer service and experience is unacceptable. The restaurant is also below average. I ordered a chicken omelette and was given a vegetable omelette and did not received the toast that came with the omelette. I would not recommend staying here due to the customer experience, it's unfortunate because the rooms and lobby are clean and the stay is economically priced. read more

I made a reservation at Cambria Hotel in Fort Mills, SC for the evening of the 10th. I realized two hours into my trip on the 8th that I had left my wallet at home necessitating a return trip home and a reschedule for the following week. I asked the hotel on the 8th if I could change the date of my trip. I was denied and not by some overly friendly staff member (which I had heard they had), but by a mean-spirited matter of fact: I am not going to cancel and reschedule for next week. You are out of luck. Things happen on business trips to all of us. The comfort suites hotel in Clinton was only too happy to oblige. My memo to all who work for me: If you stay at a Cambria Hotel, you will not be reimbursed. DO NOT stay at this place, their Customer Service is non-existent and they are obviously short sighted. A terrible experience that cost me $143 dollars and more to re-book elsewhere. read more

My family was at the Cambria hotel at fort mills for a wedding Cox/Morris. My husband and I being retired travel a lot. We feel like we were treated like royalty. The staff was the most friendly and helpful I have EVER Witnessed. Room are very nice and clean. We loved the coffee. Gerald, Latoya,Sharon,Geraldine and Monica were fabulous. Also the food was so good for the family meet and greet. Thanks to the cook. I did not get her name. Loved the meatballs. The young lady at the bar was sweet and handled the crowd with ease. It was my friend and i's first time staying here and we came across quite a few problems. First there is no complimentary waters in the room, there's no vending machines, there's barely any snacks in the lobby, there is no room service, and to top it off the manager here Cathy is extremely mean. We called this morning because we realized there was no waters in the room and asked if there was room service and she answers very nonchalantly and catty "no, you can come down here and get it" then I asked if they have vending machines and she answers rudely again "no. we do not" then I asked if the hotel rooms here came with complimentary waters and she gave me the same passive and rude reply.. seriously wish someone else could have heard her tone. So I go downstairs to purchase waters and I decided to put one back and I guess the computer would not let her cancel the two waters I initially had and she goes "you must not have heard me it's not letting me cancel y'alls water" insisting that I'm going to have to pay for the water I didn't work anymore... so I asked her if there's any way she could call someone to help her? shortly after I guess it worked out and I asked her kindly ONCE if I could just get a receipt printed off just to ensure the machine/ computer charged me correctly and she goes "YOU'RE GOING TO GET A RECEIPT WHY ARE YOU BEING SO HARD ON ME?!!???" it's like 6 am... I'm tired... I didn't even have the energy to go through that but I answered "I just want it for my own sake please and I did not get one yesterday" and she responds "WELL YOU'RE GOING TO GET YOUR RECEIPT TRUST ME!!" and I'm just extremely confused about the hostility and anger she had this morning so I ask for her name and she responds with the biggest attitude "CATHY WITH A C" and gives me a sarcastic grin.. and I'm like you've been on edge since I called this morning and letting her know that isn't okay and I'm walking off to go to the elevator and she gets from behind the desk AND STARTS FOLLOWING ME!! and I'm getting scared because by her body language and how close she was getting I thought she was going to attack me and she keeps repeating "I'm not on edge I'm not on edge" and I'm like who's your manager? And she goes "I'm the manager" So this, is a really embarrassing first time experience I had at cambria WITH THE MANAGER. read more

Brand new hotel, very clean, nice bathrooms etc unfortunately poorly built, can hear people walking above, thin walls and loud floors, really wish hotels would concentrate on sound proofing rooms instead of what wallpaper to use, nice hotel but if you want quiet sleep may want to skip this unless you like hearing other patrons in surrounding rooms. read more
