The store was quite hot and dark inside. The restroom was filthy, and so smelly of air freshener, you couldn't breathe. The staff took an exceedingly long time ringing items up at the correct price. Finally, other than a few clearance items, the books were the cover price, with no hint of a discount at all. For that price, I'd rather support a small independent bookseller. read more

Sorry in advance but this is going to be a longer post because it needs to be said. I wish I had nice things to say about this place..... other than the nice big selection of books in a variety of subjects and genres thats where it ends. Their online store is in essence a joke. While yes the seletion is there just as is in the store; dont expect your products to reach you in a "new" condition. That is the case with me as pick up in store was not an option i had to have my order delivered to me. I had purchased 2 hardcover books valued at apx. $85 USD in total; with the spines of these books busted and wrecked going up 1 - 2 inches along the spine from the bottom going up, this is not new condition which is what i paid for. Now, they arrived in a timely manner but what i recieved was a box that was smashed up, with one corner of the box was blown out for all but about 2cm of it which was holding it together; same side other corner had about an inch of its corner busted open. My book order fit pretty snug in there with little to no space to move in. However what space ther was above was plentiful and was the only place any sort of package filler was put in.... only on top. Could have been marked better but this is what i had recieved and how it came to me. Now this part i cant hold against them entirely but they could have done a better job packing and getting it ready for shippig out to, me, the customer. Upon reciept of this package i tried to call their 800 # only to find they close at 5pm CST and in the middle of the week no less ( tuesday to be exact if that matters ). Now left with 2 damaged "new" books and no answers i was left to call this location to see if they could asist me in any way. What I got instead was a female manager, going by the name Jennifer, who as soon as i started to explain my situation started to act like there was problems with the call and hung up on me. There was no issues as i was sitting on a full strong wifi signal on top of a full 4G LTE signal. the associate that answered had no problems hearing or understanding me. When i called back that same manager answered and when called out on that became very hostile and rude twoards me telliong me to do an exchange i would need to order the items again. This time after being called out there was no issues with the call, go figure. So i asked one final quetion and that was if i was to just want a refund is that possible, was told "yes we will give you a full refund" The associate that greeted me at the conter front of the store, where it leads into the mall, was impatient rude and just a complete displeasure to deal with. The combination of this guy and the manager from the call night before is enough to make me not shop here or with this company again! After telling the guy what I was there for he mumbled something under his breath and walked away, never asked if i wanted to exchange, refund or anything. Comes back about 10 minutes later with copies of the books from in store. Now at this point I do not want these books anymore i just wanted my money back so I could take my business elsewhere, where it is appriciated and welcomed. When I told him, I dont want to do an exchange, I want a refund. He excused himself this time and in a huff walked away for about another 5 minutes and came back with a paper for this refund to get started. Just as i was about to sign the paper he was asking if I had the card i paid with online and telling me how much was going to be refunded. Which differed from the number i seen on the paper by about $5 USD. A male manager, by the name of Ron, was called over who stood there eating and chewing with his mouth open as he talked with his mouth full to the associate. They tried to give me a gift card for $5 to make up for the difference, to which i responded what good is that going to do me I am not going to shop here ever again this experience as a whole, online, on the phone and in person has made sure of that so how is a gift card going to help me.... can i give it back to you and get my money for it? It was met with a no by both associate and manager at the same time. The rest of the deal was rather quiet on both sides, my money was refuned to me, in full, and i left that store. If i can help it i will avoid this store like the plague. I will tell everybody i know to go elsewhere. Sure this may be an isolated incident but regardless does not change the fact that it happened. read more
