    Rare old books

You could spend hours and hours here. Reasonable prices. Okay-sized clearance section. Hidden treasures in genres you don't even usually look in. Two small things - they (currently anyway) have an extremely limited foreign book selection compared to other HPBs - like, only one or two books per language; and - beware the very smelly bathrooms...

A real gem! Right in a strip center, you'll see this big red sign for the store. Free parking, but the lot can fill up fast. They will buy your old books, board games, music, and movies. I gathered up 2-3 bags of fiction, textbooks, and music to see what I could get. Though it was just $10, I thought it was better than nothing. Also, even if they cannot offer much (or anything) they will recycle the items for you! So, it was a win-win for me! I planned to donate them if I couldn't sell. So, they helped me out with that! The staff is friendly. They even came out to my car to help carry in some items when I requested assistance. So, if you have a lot to bring in, just stop inside first and let them know you need assistance. Either they'll carry items or bring out a cart to help roll it all in. Next, head to the left and leave all your items there. Let them know if you want to sell or if you are just dropping off to donate. If selling, they'll ask for an ID and your name. While they assess the items in roughly 15 minutes, you can walk around until you are paged on the intercom. Once you get an offer and accept, you will get a receipt. Then you sign the slip and take to a register to cash out. The store is large and you can easily pass the time. Restrooms are available. There is a full section devoted to children's books too! Find movies, music, puzzles, games, magazines, and of course a variety of books. Not all items are used. Some are new too. Happy Shopping/Selling with Half Price!

This store is big. They sell all sorts of books ranging from school books, drama, mystery, law, sports, etc. They have a collection of fiction and non-fiction books. They also sell CD's for those who love listening to music. You can really find alot of used books here. I'm not sure if they sell new books but they probably do. Just like a previous reviewer, I have some CONS about this store. SELLING YOUR BOOKS -- It is nice that you can sell your used books here but they give back very little money. I recently came in on 28 May 2019 to sell a few books. They literally quoted me $2.95 for three items total - a big Law textbook, a Spanish dictionary, and a new (unused) workout/exercise DVD. What a rip off!! Why would I accept less than $3 on all 3 items? I couldn't even at least get $10 for the law textbook which I get was an older edition but regardless, it was a well conditioned (gently used) book. I gladly took my items back and left the store. It's unfortunate that their business practice of buying used books is very poor. I may be back to buy books but I do not recommend selling your books here because you will get very little money back. **** - 82 total reviews in 2019 - 291 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 31 May 2019

I love this Half Priced Books. Even though it's a 45 minute drive for me, I still end up coming here at least once a week. The selection is always great and the prices are super low. Shopping here is a great way to fuel my love for reading while remaining environmentally conscious

    The book I purchased.

I went yesterday to purchase a book I had put on hold, for my daughters class. The wrong book was purchased so I had to go today to exchange it for the correct book. The only two copies they had there has writing all over them and inside the books. The price they charge shouldn't be more than what you can buy the book for new on Amazon. A new book on Amazon is seven dollars but I can't wait a week to get it so I had to purchase it from here. The gentleman behind the counter yesterday was pleasant but the man behind the counter today seemed a little irritated and unfriendly.

    Unbelievably low *buying* criteria. BULL

Now before my review is read I will say I like the store as a whole, and their prices are fair. +2.5 star- great store with the yummy book smell +2.5 star- interesting selection -3 stars- their selling option. I brought in a bunch of books from my child hood in great condition, hard backs not even read, *claimed that some of my books were series books that they wouldn't sell well* F**king bull Sh*t. ***Only got 8.50 (not even enough to buy the book I wanted)*** *Rip off in selling* May go back for buying

Unfortunately, I went on Joe, the owner's off day, so I didn't get a chance to say hi to him, but his staff is always warm and friendly. I dig the amount of Star Wars memorabilia he has, along with all the other toys, collectible card games, tabletop games, and of course, the pinball machines. He also has new Comics weekly along with some back issues, stickers, supplies, and some really great statues. They run Magic the Gathering nights and other gaming functions please jump on their Facebook page to see their schedule. If you're looking for collectible card games singles, they also have probably one of the largest supplies in Northeast Ohio. Check out the 55 pictures I shot. Anytime I shoot 55 pictures tells me that there's so much goodness in there that I can't make up my mind which pictures to shoot. We appreciate the support that they've given us over years. The machines also played really well and had a good mix from solid states through the latest Stern release, The Uncanny X-Men. Had a great time on the machines which range from $0.50 to $1 a play and even put up some initials. Definitely a fun spot to flip at and they also have video games. I finally visited Books-A-Million store in Cleveland on Sunday, 12 October 2025 after church. It's…read morea chain store with locations nationwide. I didn't really know about this store until my church friend, John, suggested the store to me because that is where he found his Bible cover. So, I came to find myself a Bible cover for a new Bible that I bought a week prior. I bought the Bible while in Chicago which is a used Life Application Study Bible that I randomly found for $1 at a bookstore. I was able to find a brown covered Bible cover here at Books-A-Million in October 2025. It has an Ephesians Bible verse on the front cover (Put on the Full Armor of God) and side pockets on the inside of it. I also like the side handle to carry the Bible cover. While at the store, a guy friend from church called me and asked me to find him a large print Catholic Bible (with the aprophcyha) but I couldn't find the exact one that he liked. I ended up returning back to Books-A-Million on October 31, 2025 to buy a Catholic Bible for him. A few others later chipped in money to use in purchasing this Catholic Bible for his birthday in November. I couldn't find a large print Catholic Bible with Jesus words in red so I bought a regular print one with Jesus words in red plus a Bible magnifier. I returned to the store in November 2025 to look for something that they didn't have but per my posted photos, I bought some Dubai Chocolates (I am writing this review almost a year later). INSIDE -- the store is large and organized by various sections. BOOKS GALORE -- There are many books to choose from, including fiction and non-fiction. They offer books in areas of business, religion, mysteries, sports, romance, etc SERVICE -- It may be difficult to find help because the store is large. When I finally found assistance, the employee was helpful during my two October 2025 visits. I remember during my first October visit, the employee walked around the Bible section of the store with me trying to help me find a specific Catholic Bible. I'll definitely be back again if I am looking to buy a specific book (I traditionally shop at local bookstores). Books-A-Million offers a Millionaire's Savings Club where for a one time fee, members enjoy discounts everyday so if that is your thing, give them a visit. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 162/250 total reviews in 2026 - 1003 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 17 July 2026

This place is really great if you're looking for "their type"...which seemed to be Christian definitely, nationalist maybe...so if you're into that you'll love it. There were whole aisles devoted to Christian books. All in all, not diverse but they do have nice books if you are looking for what they carry.

This shop has two floors packed to the brim with about any kind of book imaginable. An entire children's section, foreign language books, old collectors books, and more. If you wanted to put together a bookshelf full of classics that actually look like classics in worn, brown leather binding you could definitely get your start here. There is every section you expect from a book store. An extensive collection of fiction starting at the front of the store, with classics and nonfiction in the back and upstairs. The children's section is also upstairs. There are a few places where you can sit and read. This being a primarily used book store, you can sell and trade too. Highest dollar is given for nonfiction, with hardbacks being at the top of that list. You can sell your books outright with no obligation to use the money as credit only. However, like with most trade-in places, you will typically get more value if you apply it in credit than if you take it in cash. Absolutely worth a visit, even if you're just looking to browse the day away in town.
