Very fun and beautiful place to take young kids! They can run around and explore while moms and grandma's enjoy the lovely garden! Whimsical and very fun!

Super cute garden for kids to see replica houses and sculptures from their favorite books. It's a nice loop path with a few spots to deviate to see things like a fish pond or lookout area. There's a few props in some houses like chairs and dishes, a few smaller play stations and a playground. They also have a picnic area to enjoy lunch while there. We checked out a pass from our local library so it was free to go. Be sure to look at their website for parking information as the big lot is being re-paved so you have to walk about 5-10min to get in, unless you have handicapped parking, which they have closer to the entrance.

Absolutely a wonderful place to visit! If you're from out of the area, you can save some money on your tickets by getting them online ahead of time instead of at the gate. We visited without kids, and thoroughly enjoyed the nostalgia of remembering books we enjoyed w our children (now adults). Enjoyed watching school groups and families enjoying the space.

What a great children's garden (for adults too). Very nicely laid out well maintained. Winding trails and beautiful landscaping. Highly recommend.

If you could imagine the child in you walking through a book then this place is a dream come true. From Whinny the Pooh's treehouse to the Three Little Pigs houses there was fun and interactive learning around every corner. Truly laid out well for the young ones and young at heart. Made you feel like a kid again by awakening all senses. The day we went there were stations set up where my Granddaughter took a turn at churning butter and making a photo using bird seeds. They also had a animal petting area - the baby cow was her favorite. Well done Bookworm Gardens this is a very happy place.

Fun and whimsical gardens representing beloved children's books. I would highly recommend it for the whole family.

Wasn't sure how cheesy or potentially lame this place would be as one would think I'd have heard about it sooner if it was really cool, but this place was amazing, we'll taken care of, super unique, clean, beautiful flowers and awesome exhibits, very interactive and super cool for kids. A definite must visit for toddlers through grade schoolers. Will be at least an annual visit moving forward if not more!

This place is SO MUCH FUN! I read a Yelp review that said it brings out the kid in you and it does! Beautiful garden for all to enjoy. They had crafts for the kids, a ladybug release and lots of events throughout the year. Definitely check them out if your going to Sheboygan. Call to make reservations during the pandemic.

A very cute garden based on children's books. My sister a reading teacher brought us here on a cold and windy June day as we were passing through town. It was swarming with kids, which it should be. They loved the place. It was a super creative garden that melded nice plantings with artsy props related to the different books. And did I mention it is free (with a suggested donation of $5). A great resource for parents who need to let the kids burn off some energy!

We had a fun time exploring the stories and gardens! I really like that they do appointments to regulate the amount of people in the gardens at a time! They have the stories kids can read at each place and lots of places to sit and read & enjoy time together. Also this one brought me flashbacks to my childhood loved this book!

It's located in a residential neighborhood, south of Sheboygan, that is off the beaten path. The first thing you see is a log fence along Evergreen Road. In the trompe-l'œil sculpture, you'll find a Native American family, a momma bear climbing a tree and her two cubs playing in a tree. Park your car in the lot off Evergreen Road and walk back up to the road to take a closer look at the fence. The amount of detail that James Tellen put into his work is evident in the logs. You'll find a Native American family, a momma bear about to climb a tree, and her cubs playing on the tree top. Near the large sculpted tree (go ahead and stick your head in the large opening!) you'll find a box with an information sheet that describes the sculptures you'll be seeing as you walk the path into the woods. Where did this all come from? James Tellen worked in a Sheboygan furniture factory where he painted stripes and other details on the products. When not working, he studied painting under local artisans and later worked with other media. During the depression, production slowdowns gave him time to pursue his artwork. This log cottage and land, south of town, was a family refuge and became a place for him to pursue his artwork. During the winter, he would work on sculpting heads in the basement of his home. In Spring and Summer, he attached the heads to armatures that supported his concrete sculptures. Tellen died in 1957, leaving a legacy of 30 such sculptures at the family cottage. The Kohler Foundation acquired the sculpture garden in 1988 and in 2001, the collection was gifted to the John Michael Kohler Art Center. The Tellen environment is the first addition to the JMKAC collection that is off premises. (The JMKAC is in downtown Sheboygan.) A sculpture of a young Abraham Lincoln, splitting a log, shows Tellen's incredible dedication to detail. It is reminiscent of Clarence Shaler's "Lincoln the Dreamer" sculpture on the campus of Ripon College. Tellen tried to depict everyday people, and the young Lincoln is represented as an everyday neighbor rather than as the statesman that we all remember. The Tellen collection is open dawn to dusk daily. It is one the art environments restored by the Kohler Foundation and listed as part of Wandering Wisconsin. I have reviewed some of these sites on Yelp, too. https://www.jmkac.org/exhibitions/wandering-wisconsin.html

Updating my review to rave about our recent service…read more Joined by my bestie and her husband who drove all the way from Denver to see us, my partner and I returned to The Blind Horse for a birthday dinner. My bestie is SEVERELY allergic to poultry and her husband was recently diagnosed with Celiac disease which means gluten is no good (even "cross contamination"). This makes finding a restaurant that can accommodate their needs a huge challenge. Our server went out of her way to talk to the chef and check things out. They were able to accommodate these specific diets and still beautifully create their entrees. It has been horrible to adjust life with Celiac, so when the food came out, I really thought there might be some tears of joy. ;) This gave us more reasons to come back! Thank you!

We saw there were little signs by the doors that tell you what building is what. Once inside, we were seated immediately. Our waitress got us drinks within a minute of sitting down. I think her name was Ella or Ellie- she was very good. Knew when to come over and when to not come over. I ordered the lobster cargot for an appetizer - it didn't have much taste so I would pass on this in the future. The corn chowder was amazing !!!! Very flavorful. My lobster ravioli had a very nice portion size and lots of extra lobster. Our bill for 2 people who each had two alcoholic beverages was $150 with the tip. Cute date night spot. The reason for the 4 star was the blackened snapper paella wasn't good. The fish was burnt not blackened. My friend took the bottom off because of how burnt it was.
