It's close to the airport so it worked for me and even better, the beers worked for me! It was pretty slow on a Saturday afternoon. The outside seating area was empty with a few people sitting at the bar inside. It was comfortable and friendly, which I was always appreciate. I trued four beers with a couple being specifically recommended by the gent working the bar. I didn't get his name but he is also one of the brewers. Crumble vanilla ale had a great vanilla aroma and flavor. Light color and light body and very good. Cosmic Fog DIPA was very tasty with a lot of hop flavor to it but not overpowering bitterness. Toasted Tones lager was pretty good. I would liken it to a light amber ale. SWPFTD would have liked this one. High Priest honey milk stout was a nice stout with the expected flavors but that little honey flavor hiding under the roastiness. I would have liked to stay longer, try more beers, and chat with the brewer longer but alas I had to fly home. Do me a favor and try the beers I didn't for me please! I asked him the difference between two of the bocks they had on tap (a helles bock and a maibock...debately the same style, if not very similar) and he said "how strong the Belgian yeasts are" in a very confident tone. I told him I had never heard of bocks being made with Belgian yeasts, and he said it's "a Cincinatti thing". I got a taste of the beer, and there were no phenolics (for non beer nerds: it had no Belgian flavors) so I ordered one and didn't argue.

We hit up several breweries on a recent trip to Columbus, and Hoster was my favorite beer of the trip. It was just well made, good tasting beer - nothing crazy. To top it off, there's bottomless self-serve popcorn and a vintage jukebox topped with a bowl of free quarters to play your favorite selctions from the decades. The collections of artifacts from Hoster's storied histories, make the walk to the bathroom like a visit to a mini-museum. I loved the homey decor and selection of tables, barstools, and comfy chairs. This place was somewhat family friendly, but it's not a huge space, so it's not great for tots that like to run around. I believe there might have been soooome seasonal outdoor seating, but nothing crazy. Lots of parking and easily accessible. The bartender was super welcoming, friendly, and generous! We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, and it wasn't super busy - that was welcomed! Hoster is worth a visit if you're ever in the area. Their brews rival the big names in the area.

The atmosphere is dark, romantic and upscale. Every detail is fine tuned to enhance patron experience down to the vibe of the women's restroom. The service is quick and friendly and water servers walk around regularly filling your cups to ensure you are never parched. The food is incredible. You can't go wrong with any of the appetizers and after multiple dinners here, the Walleye has to be my favorite entree. It is incredible and easy to devour in on sitting. I always leave Three Creeks feeling happy and satisfied and I hope it remains a Gahanna staple for many, many years.

Hubs and stopped in the Oracle yesterday on our way to visit our oldest daughter. It's the first…read moreweek in September, so the pandemic is still looming and of course we respect all the precautions every business is taking to stay safe and prevent the spread. That being said, upon opening the door we were told we couldn't come in without masks. Mine was in my pocket, no problem. I haven't left my home (in Tennessee) often enough since the beginning of the virus for it to become habit to automatically put on a mask when I get out of my vehicle. But 9/10 times I remember before entering a public place. The male bartender just seemed rude in the way he told us to put one one. I had read the raving reviews, and being a Yelp Elite myself I know I can and do trust their reviews above others. So....I was really looking forward to trying something new and enjoy watching a bartender do their thing. The bartender pointed to two framed menus on top of a cooler containing seltzer's and canned drinks, and some glass bottles of pre-made cocktails, I think. I would've appreciated the bartender ask me what I liked, and help me decide, but it was easier for him to point to the sign. Customer service absolutely sucked hippo balls. I asked if I could just order a Knob Creek and Coke in a short glass, and a Blanton's for my hubs. Sure!! What I got was a shot of each in a to-go plastic condiment container with a lid, and two big paper go cups (like Burger King) of ice, and a can of Coke, which I told him never mind I had a soda in the truck. We also got two bags of Cheeto's, to make the sale legal. So....we poured our bourbons over the ice in the paper cups. I drank a few sips of mine, yum, even in paper. My husband was just about to take a sip and noticed something stuck in his ice that looked just like a maggot. He walked back across the street and told/showed the bartender, who vehemently denied it came from the ice because it was a brand new bag. Then I noticed 3 of the maggot looking things in my ice, so I went back in and showed my husband and then the bartender. He told my husband it was probably from the citrus he was cutting on a board near the ice bin. They were frozen INSIDE the ice cubes. I'm upset with myself that I didn't take a picture of it, it was gross. I'm upset that a bartender would try to make it seem like it was nothing. After seeing it all in my ice my husband just asked for our money back, and the bartender said, "But I've already poured another." Ummm, sorry, but no thank you. He did give the refund, but I most assuredly won't give them a second chance when I visit Columbus.
