My boyfriend and I drove to Guthrie to check it out since we moved to Oklahoma and heard it was a cute little town. We passed by this place and thought we would stop in for dinner. I had the chicken fried chicken and he had the chicken fried steak. His meal was decent but the steak was covered in so much greasy breading he could barely find the meat. I'd say 1/2 of his meal was actual meat and the rest breading. His onion rings were good and the fried pickles were delicious. My meal was good and the mashed potatoes and gravy were very good. The fried okra was amazing. On the way home however, I had an insane bout of stomach problems and had to rush home to the restroom barely making it in time. I thought it was all the fried food but the next day I felt sick to my stomach while I laid in bed. Tonight as I write this review is the second night I've now laid in bed with a sick feeling in my stomach and constantly getting up to use the restroom. I do believe I picked up a bug from my meal, but not 100% on that. I haven't eaten anything really heavy since so I am pretty sure it was from that diner. The waitresses were friendly and the atmosphere was good. The restaurant looked and smelled very clean, but somehow I ended up getting sick from my meal. I won't be back to eat there, but then again probably won't be back to Guthrie either. We felt like outsiders and completely out of place there, and no one was really friendly outside of the restaurant. read more

If I could leave multiple negative reviews I would! Not only me but countless other tables never received the correct food when I asked about my food i kept getting told they already brought it. I looked at my empty table and asked what they meant. They told me they bagged my to go order up and sent it already I told them no I didn't get it they refused to remake it saying they already made that order. Wanted me to pay for both orders. Will never step foot a mile within the establishment nor do I hope anyone else does. It's a waste of time money and mental stability. Manger whose name he refused to give me should be replaced immediately. read more

The staff are friendly and the food is good. Typical diner food here. I'm rating it a 4 because there were a couple mishaps with my order and when I paid extra for the bacon cheese fries, it was only a single serving of fries. Had I known that, my husband and I wouldn't have shared an order. Also, there's really nothing special about these fries for the upcharge to be so great. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience. Restrooms are clean and the building is nostalgic. I'd definitely visit again. read more

9/19/19 Stopped in this morning for coffee and breakfast.. waitress brought the coffee and I asked for cream.. she snapped at me! Said she was going to get it.. how was I supposed to know? Well here is another great place for breakfast that I happened to find driving around the quaint little town of Guthrie not saying that there other food isn't good I've only had breakfast and it was fantastic and a lot of food even for a man my size I couldn't finish it all the eggs were cooked to perfection the hash browns were cooked perfectly as well and the sausage great to. As for the service we were greeted right away by a very friendly and cheerful waitress named Jennifer, she was polite and very helpful when we asked what she recommended she suggested the Elvins big breakfast I think that's the name of it which is 3 eggs 2 bacon 2 sausage hash browns biscuits and gravy boy oh boy and then I couldn't help myself so I tried the fried pies cherry and as I suspected yummy and warm tasty flakey crust and a burst of cherry flavor. Now for the cleanliness of the restaurant was very good and there was plenty of room it was busy but not to crowded and it was Saturday afternoon I was surprised. Not in a bad way at all so yes I will visit here again and can't wait to try there chili cheese burgers 1/2 lb of meat. Sounds good to me thanks to everyone at the boomerang diner. The service was good. My family had the fried mushrooms and pickle-o's as appetizers; they were amazing, with and without the dressing. My daughter enjoyed a breakfast burger with ham and my grandson had the grilled cheese sandwich with fries. I had the K-Burger, which was okay. The menu is limited to burgers, chicken tenders, breakfast food, and other quick American-type foods, but the prices are good and the portions are right. read more

Great food. We were heading back from a hunt and were tired of fast food so we found this gem on the GPS. Two of the guys had the all you can eat cat fish. I think this was the daily special. One other of the guys had a chicken sandwich he was happy with and I had an omelette. Love breakfast for lunch. Milk shakes were delicious and the sweet tea hit the spot. Great decor on the walls and a fun wait staff. Good came fast and hot. The homemade pies in the case looked good, but we didn't have room after lunch to try them. If you live in town or you are driving down the interstate it's worth stopping by. read more

Sat down for 10 mins and nobody came until I got up to leave and my order was taken, so I decided to stay. The food was alright but I ran out of water and could never get someone's attention to get it refilled. When I finally did I was told she was not the waitress at that table and she couldn't go and get it refilled so it never got refilled. First time to stop in to this diner. We normally grab some barbecue at another local restaurant..decided to try something different. Stepping inside is like stepping back in time to a place where small, local diners were a more common place to eat. Friendly wait staff greeted us and tended to us immediately with helpful info and recommendations. The fried 'schrooms...I eat them everywhere...served up HOT alongside some homemade ranch...they were definitely some of the best. The decor took us back in time and kept us entertained and reminiscing during the not-too-long wait for our lunch. The patty-melts were perfectly prepared and were accompanied by extra cheese!! Plenty of food to satisfy even the hungriest of patrons! We didn't try the new shakes but as the temperature outside began to warm, we soon regretted that choice. My only complaint...the place is immaculate but I'm not fond of smelling cleaner while I'm eating...maybe a non-scented variety would do the trick ;) read more

Just moved to Guthrie trying out all the different dinners and the food here was GREAT! Amazing patty melt and my grandma who is hard to please got a hamburger which she loved. FOOD WAS FAST AND FRESH. Perfectly cooked melt in your mouth good quality meat. Will definitely be back. Our waitress was mediocre but that didn't bother me too much because the food was good and the girl at the counter was actually very nice interactive and inviting. Seems like our waitress was a high school student with less experience she gave us our food and that was it. She was not very talkative. I've been to Boom-a-rang several times and I usually get the French fry basket. Now they have made two different sizes for them- a small and a regular. I ordered the regular expecting to get a fair amount. When it came to the table I was a little confused because it looked as if I ordered a small. I paid more for less fries than usual and have to say I'm a little disappointed. Still a great place to go, just confused about the size change. read more

Just ate lunch there and it was great, fast, friendly service. I had an amazing party melt and my boyfriend got a burger and we shared onion rings. Everything was very good and very affordable. $18 for all of that and a sweet tea!! 10/10 will come again when I'm in Oklahoma!! read more
