We stayed the night and decided to try this place on recommendation of a local. They were very busy, not upset about that- that's a good sign. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. I ordered the chicken parmigiana, my husband ordered a dish that included three different pastas. It was a lot of food, so even if I wanted to I would not have been able to eat it all. The food wasn't special in any way. Just the typical Italian restaurant you can find in any small town. I ordered a piece of cake to take back to the hotel. When we got there my husband said it smelled freezer burned. I didn't ask if they made it in house and probably should have. The chicken was a frozen patty, that should've been a sign. The food didn't make me sick, and I'm sure for the locals it's a good to have an Italian style restaurant. I don't think I'd come back or even recommend it. But I'm also not saying it was terrible, just "average" and for what I paid, I expected more. read more

We have a weekend home that's about 15 minutes away from Guthrie (we're there, on average, about 10-15 weekends a year). We never go into town for a restaurant...with one exception...ROMA's! We've had takeout every time and have probably ordered from there about once or twice a year for the past 7 years. We have never had a bad meal from there. NEVER! The portions are large and the food is wonderful. Tonight, we had guests for dinner and served Roma's. They raved about it! Now, the bread is sometimes a little overcooked, but I'm being picky and don't want anyone thinking this review is from the owner! If I lived full time in the area, there's no doubt we would eat at Roma's more often. read more

Prompt service, very friendly waitress, delicious bread, and the entree's were exquisite. I ordered a side of grilled vegetables in addition to cheese lasagne. The chef said it would be the best grilled veggies I have ever had, and they were! The homemade marinara sauce was a perfect blend of flavors and was delicious with the layers of cheese lasagne. Decided to stop in for dinner. Surprisingly the wait was only 30 minutes even though there was a big event happening in town. Overall the food was delicious! Everything was very flavorful and cooked well. They give you rolled bread with is fun to dip in the oil and balsamic vinegar. For dinner, I had a specialty Item that was suggested by our server Jenny! It was a penne Alfredo with Chicken, sliced Italian sausage, and mushrooms. It was very flavorful but the Alfredo sauce was a tad runny. My friend had the lobster ravioli! Also very flavorful and very large portion. The best part of the meal was our server JENNY! She was so sweet and very attentive! she was making jokes with us. Ask for Jenny if you stop in! The only thing that was a disappointment is Yelp was offering a 10% discount when checking in. So very surprised of the quality of this food and service! The building is very underwhelming compared to the food! The garlic knots are fluffy. The garden salads were fresh and the ranch was great. Definitely order the fried ravioli with marinara and Alfredo dipping sauce! These rivaled my favorite at Hideaway! I'll cut in before I describe our entrees to shed light on the service. We had a very sweet young woman with curly hair as our server. She was PHENOMENAL! Offered lots of advice on food choices and really wanted to please us! I ordered the chicken Marsala and I said I like mushrooms so she brought me a cup of mushrooms with my salad! Who goes above and beyond like that??? Not many people like her in service. She was a rare gem. She also continuously asked us if there was anything else we needed before she left our table. She was fantastic. Please promote her to staff trainer; she deserves it! I did pick up this first time. I know authentic Italian after living in Naples for four years. This food is fantastic. I got the linguine with the tutomare , which has all sorts of seafood. Eh.... we were SO looking forward to trying Roma's, as we thought it would be an authentic Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, we left quite disappointed. The waitress also seemed like she was on drugs or drunk or something. She actually mentioned not having sleep or something, but it wasn't a completesentence. She was hard to understand at that point in our conversation. It was the most awkward and uncomfortable experience. She asked if we had any questions. I asked if they had garlic knots, because they were in the Yelp photos, but weren't on the menu. She acted like she had no idea what we were talking about, as if she had never heard the term "garlic knots" before. She "said" no they didn't have any (kinda slurred it while shrugging her shoulders with a co fixed look on her face) and minutes later she brings some out to us, saying that this is their complimentary bread, while giggling. It was really odd. She slurred her speech off and on, the entire time and kept giggling. It was incredibly annoying. The food was mediocre at best. Everything tasted like it was cooked on a previous day and warmed up today. The whole experience was a complete let down. The ambiance was also a bit strange. They had this really odd music playing. It reminded me of the background music in some online role playing games, which would've been fine on its own; but, it was accompanied by a somewhat loud TV, reporting covid related news the entire time we are trying to eat. Another table with 3 customers actually asked if they could change the channel and/or turn it down. Their waitress also seemed to be confused at their request. The staff here is just really... odd... As we're trying to leave, They ask us 4 or 5 different times if we want dessert. For the price that we paid for the entrees and the quality that we received, we definitely weren't going to spend any extra money on some store bought deserts. We kept saying no and tried to leave as fast as we could. Roma's is extremely overpriced for the food that they produce. Their staff makes the whole experience uncomfortable too. Service was great! Hosts and servers are very kind and helpful. It seems as though there is no filtration system at this establishment. Unfortunately we all ordered water and it tasted like it was sourced directly from a pond. It was not pleasant. Instead, we ordered carbonated beverages and they also had a very dirt-y taste. This is our first time eating at Roma's new location. It is much nicer than the old place and has more dining space. The parking lot is also much nicer. The food is still very good. Thier pasta is fresh and tasty. My wife had the manicotti, and I had the ribeye and penne. We also had some salad, and the salad bar was fairly basic but things were fresh and tasted good. I also had the Italian sausage as an appetizer. It tasted great and the sauce it was served in was very good. My only complaint is that my steak didn't appear to be that great of a quality of meat. It tasted good and was cooked to the requested medium rare, but the way the cut looked and cut up was more in line with a lesser quality. The waiter did have to check if they had any I'm stock that day, as they had run out the day before. It might have just been an anomaly. We will be back, but might skip the steak next time. Reviews are accurate based on our first experience here today for an early dinner. It was fantastic. You can tell it's real Italian owned and the food shows it as well. We didn't have the pleasure of trying Roma's old location, but this location seems a bit smaller but a better location. More centrally located. Complimentary garlic rolls start the meal, and they came out nice and warm. I ordered Roma's Special Combo (lasagna, chicken parmesan, and alfredo). All three were extremely flavorful and fresh! Each entree comes with salad bar. The salad bar was small, but I guess with all the pasta you're about to stuff yourself with, no use wasting room with salad. If you're into the salad bar and it's something you look forward to, then you'll be disappointed. Can't wait to come back and try something else from the menu. read more

Wonderful baked ziti and Stromboli. The Italian beer was different but the rum punch was excellent. We'd certainly recommend this place.

We arrived about 30 minutes to closing. The staff were extremely friendly & attentive. They treated exiting customers like they were old friends. Our food arrived quickly & was AMAZING! We were the last customers of the evening but they still brought us a slice of chocolate cheesecake gratis! I should have taken some of my generous serving of carbonara home, but it was too good to stop eating. We have a 3 hour 45 minute drive home & they wished us a safe trip. Guthrie has several blocks of historic buildings in the thriving downtown area. We will be back to explore & eat here! Hearing staff speaking Italian was a bonus. read more

We had a great meal at Roma's recently before a show at The Pollard. I appreciate how many options their menu has along with the delicious rolls and salad bar. This is homestyle Italian food, so think of your basics like lasagna and spaghetti. They also have a great selection of house specialties. I ordered the tortellini modo mio with chicken and really enjoyed it. I liked having the veggies to help balance out the pasta. The portion was large, so I had plenty left to take home. My husband liked his pasta trio as well. The atmosphere could have been a little nicer as it seemed like a converted fast food restaurant, but the quality is all there. Am laughing at Robert A.'s (says he is from California) terrible review of Roma's. First, he didn't eat an entrée. He did not describe the warm hospitality, high quality, or even the manner in which they serve items at the Roma's, Guthrie, Oklahoma. When giving his review, we do find out some unfortunate things about poor Robert. He does not know how to spell the words "foreigner" or know that we are called "Oklahomans" as opposed to "Oklahomians". He does not seem to realize that Oklahomans travel internationally and are exposed to mass communications -- we are exposed to excellent Italian and other international foods prepared by authentic chefs such as that found at Roma's. Roma's is raved by so many because it is excellent. Try it and discover this gem for yourself. Food prepared in old world style by Italians. Buon mangiare! read more

We made the hike up to Guthrie in the RV and in a couple of vehicles for a place people had been raving about called Union Tacos that had an article in the Gazette... Having seen a sign on I-35 for Roma Italian, I remembered my friend Gary talking about a great italian place in Guthrie. After we found out Union Tacos was closed, we decided to meet at Romas since it was a convenient meeting place right on the main road. Their specials board has some enticing awesomeness. Salad bar comes with all entrees except pizza and sandwiches, in which case it is only $1.95 extra or if you decide to share an entree. We got sat down and were provided our drinks and complimentary bread by D'Lana. The bread was soft, warm, fluffy with a crust. It tasted great with marinara sauce and olive oil/balsamic vinegarette. There were lots of options from pizzas, pastas, chicken, seafood, sandwiches and desserts. The cost wasn't bad at $12-16/ entree with a salad bar. The salad bar was phenomenal, in my opinion. It had a few items but enough to fill your plate and lots of dressings choices.The plates were full size plates, which is rare at most places. I had the mayor's special (see picture) found on the Specials board, which was a huge serving filled with chicken, sausage, artichoke hearts, pasta, etc. I ended up taking most of it home. I basically have 2 meals as leftovers. Win!!! They had homemade gelatos in the following flavors: delce gelato, pistacho, vanilla and chocolate. We ordered the delce which was quite rich and creamy. There were 3 scoops in a bowl for $3.95. Evan, the owner (Italian dude who has been in the US for 15 years) hooked us up with cannoli and Tiramsu. I ate at Roma's once shortly after it first opened at its old location on S. Division in Guthrie and, after this to-go order, I remember why I never went back. The garlic bread/rolls were rock hard and dry as the Sahara. The manicotti was absolutely drowning in the strangest marinara sauce I've ever tasted (it was unpleasantly sweet) and there was way too much greasy cheese floating on top (and I love cheese, but there is a limit). I managed to finish it off, but the lobster ravioli went straight into the trash. It looked, smelled and tasted like regurgitated lobster ravioli. The salad was pathetic as well, coming from the most laughable 'buffet' imaginable. I wish Roma's luck, but I will not be back. read more

This place is another one that you could tell was good before you even pull into the parking lot. The place was packed. We got out of the car and smelled the aromas and even if we had not already known by the number of cars, we knew then that it was going to be great. I had a dish that I can't remember the name of, but it was chicken with spaghetti with an Alfredo and mushroom sauce. AMAZING!!! My husband ordered Spaghetti the works. It had meatballs, sausage, mushrooms, and ground beef. I tasted it too, and mmm was it good. We did not order an appetizer due to planning to order a dessert. However, the salad, bread, and huge portions of food, made us quickly realize that dessert was not something we wanted to even try. The choices were there and before ordering the meal, we had picked out what each of us would get. But well, we were so full, that we were not able to clean our plates. Though we tried. Oh yes, we tried. Inside, the dining area, it was cute. Had little alcoves for the booths painted white with vines all around. The tvs were a bit distracting to me, as I think with the quality of the food, this place could be a nice romantic secluded eating areas kind of place for couples. We also had trouble with the navigator trying to take us way out north of town when we clicked the yelp directions link. So, be careful of that. You want to find this place, so don't give up. We are in Guthrie for a Dog Show and found this gem after the show. The place is super clean and the owners are on site and will make sure you are taken care of. Ordered the toasted ravioli and it was very fresh, not greasy at all. We ordered a dinner salad with the house Italian dressing and it was very tasty. Our entree was a grilled chicken tortellini in a lemon sauce. Very light and extremely tasty. The Tiramisu was a fabulous pick as well. You will not go wrong by stopping here. They serve an array of fresh pasta dishes and hand tossed pizza. Thanks for a great evening guys. read more
