I'm really torn on the stars for this review; the food was very good on our visit, so that would be 5 stars if all things were equal. The thing that brought the review down was the cigarette smoke. We sat inside on the same side as the bar, and were overwhelmed by cigarette smoke. The patio is obviously the smoking area, which is fine, but it doesn't do much good to separate it from the restaurant if you have giant windows half the length of the room that you keep open. We felt as if we were sitting in the smoking section, the smell was so strong. The other thing that dropped the review a bit was our waitress' water glass method. Rather than refilling my glass, she would just bring a new glass of water. This may be more efficient but it's rather wasteful, resource wise, because there were several glasses that needed to be washed, etc. it was also annoying, because she left the empty glasses when she brought a new one; by the time our meal was over I had 4 water glasses on the table, and my wife had 2. Once again, the food was delicious, the dining experience itself was mediocre. read more

I wish I could give a 5. Todays visit should be a 1. But the last 2 times were a 5 so I'll give a 3 bc of COVID. The waitress would come over with a mask and then remove to talk to us. So if there is any virus on that mask it's now on her hands which touch our food. They also did not clean off the tables after people left. We were trying to support but won't be back now. The first two times we came, we felt safe. We eat on the deck despite the heat even. But the mask thing and not cleaning the tables. Plus even the bartender had a mask around her neck, not on her face. That impacts everyone bc she's doing all drinks. Incredibly disappointing. Literally went to support y'all I shouldn't have to ask you to follow safety protocols, total bummer. read more

Murphy location just needs to hire new servers or management. I know good help is hard to find however some of these servers have been here for over a year. If they don't have a table the manager will literally let them linger around the three POS systems by the kitchen instead of going around and helping customers. The manager will even stand there with them. You will see customers look over there for help they need and they will just be talking. Food is great and love the atmosphere, but come on and get your act together. Live in Murphy and probably go at least once a month and it is starting to go down hill read more

This is our favorite place to eat and drink and we visit on a weekly basis. The staff is super friendly and the food is excellent. There are drink specials everyday, and I love to go on Sundays for the $2 Shiner drafts, If you like Ruben sandwiches I would highly recommend theirs. We often bring our grandson with us and the kids meal has allot of food and comes with a sundae. read more

My wife and I used to come here 2 to 3 times a week when we lived near by a few years ago and it was the place to be. Great service, good food. We moved away and came back today for St. Patrick's day with a big group of friends and we're so disappointed. First off, we were shocked how empty it was. Our server was somewhat nice, but was very uneducated about the menu, and basic drink needs/ knowledge. At a couple of points during our visit we would wait more than 10 minutes for a single beer, and even longer to get our tab. We took great care of of server despite the subpar service because we are all current service industry, and by the end she couldn't have seemed more annoyed to just even be at work. My advice would be to visit the Fairview location. From what we know, all of the former Murphy staff went there, and we've never had a bad experience there. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because we were long time regulars. Their obvious lack of training shows. Hopefully this location will get back to its glory days it once used to be. read more

Tonight they were out of the beer we came here for and the first glass of Oktoberfest was okay, but tasted old. Switched to a different beer for glass #2 and it took a while to get here because we were informed they were tapping a new keg. When it arrived there was a smidge of foam on top of the beer and absolutely no carbonation. It was flat and undrinkable. Switched to another beer and the 3rd glass was good. They were nice enough to not charge us for the 2nd beer. Also the music was so loud that we couldn't hear each other speak. We won't be coming back. read more

Cobb salad the best Beers and cocktails always stellar, plus the wait staff excellent people

Love the patio with the new tables. Their beer is cold and the food is very good as always. Service is consistent and quick. If not for the small restroom this would be a 5 star place. I do have one complaint that is out of Boomers control. It's the people that park their soccer mom vans and little suv's on the side where the hot rods, jeeps, souped-up trucks park. Please stop parking with these almost show cars, it really makes you look dumb. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. First off, it was Texas/OU weekend, so it was busy. The restaurant was crowded and very understaffed. I watched tables just get up and leave without ordering. We were on the patio. Huge mistake. There was a barking pit bull lunging at people that walked by at the table right next to ours. The heavy smoker we were subjected to was a throwback to the 80's. When our food finally arrived, our waitress apologized for how "ghetto" it looked. Her words not ours. Lastly, the other waitress eating chips from a bag of Fun-ions (sp) taking a moment to speak to the people at the table next to ours dropping "f" bombs that my kids heard. Priceless! We have been to this location several times. We took advantage of the $22 meal with 1 app & 2 full entrees. I had the boneless buffalo wings & side salad and my husband had the fire roasted fajita quesadillas. We ordered the loaded cheese fries with ranch for our appetizer. Tonight we decided to try a new place. We came to boomerjacks. We decided to sit in the deck-great night to be out. The deck is awesome with fans,TVS and good music. We sat down was greeted within a couple of minutes. We reviewed the menu and our waitress came back in about 5-7 minutes to take our order. Pretty prompt and attentive. Any longer and it would have been annoying. Took about 20 min to get our meal. Ordered the Tacos El Carbon-cane out cold. My meal probably sat while our other medal was being prepared. It was ok. Rib Eye-was ordered med rare came out a little over cooked. Tastes delicious. Prices are a little high..but it was a good meal on a great deck. read more

My experience with Boomerjacks Murphy was lackluster and not very impressive. The service was lacking and it seemed we were an inconvenience and nuisance. Greeter did not escort to table she kinda just walked off set tables and then walked back no convo. Food- ordered naked quest which was bland and was like velveeta with Rotel. The salsa was nice with a little kick. We ordered wings well done and they were not crisp and not well done. The sauce was so heavy it covered the little taste of the wing. The staff is great about getting to know the regulars, unless you are an introvert (that's certainly your prerogative). It is a cozy bar scene and nice outside with nice weather. The bartenders are generally great, attentive and responsive. Food is quite good for the price. Keep in mind, it's a sports bar. The drink and food prices equate to a great value. Is it possible to get less than stellar service here? Of course. But, on the whole, I think they try to do the best they can, and it shows. This is my second review. My last stop was 9 months ago and we decided to give this place a second shot. This time around I give it a 5. The place continues to accommodate to a large crowd with a huge patio. The horrible smell that once lingered near the bar area is gone. We actually witnessed the barkeep detail cleaning in between serving. The service was great. When we arrived the barkeep had gone to the back to get more serving glasses so the manager stepped up and served the first drink. The barkeep was attentive after that. Great smile and great attitude! We didn't eat this time around but others around us where and they left empty plates which is a good sign. Overall a way better experience than 9 months ago. Not sure what changed but it's 100% for the best. This will be a regular spot for us moving forward. Give it a shot! read more

I've been by a few times and it was decent, though nothing to write home about. Sunday, however, I need to comment on. Came by for a late brunch and the literal shit show began immediately. Waitress took my drink order and once she'd walked away, I realized I'd rested my arm in a pile of bird shit on the table and had smeared it on my chest. Took her a good 5-7 minutes to come back with my drink (which she spilled as she set it on the table) and I asked for napkins to clean it up as I wasn't going to walk through a restaurant with shit all over my shirt. She said "oh darn!" and went to get my napkins, not before stopping at 3 other tables to check on customers and take orders. After another full 5 minutes, she finally made it back. My sweet friend ran across the street to the store to grab me another shirt as we were just starting our afternoon out and I now had a huge brown smear across my chest. While it was obvious that he had stepped away from the table, the waitress came back 2-3 times asking if I was ready to order after telling her that I'd be waiting until he got back. Ok, oblivious. So I'm finally shit-free and we're ready to order. I got the Hangover Skillet with avocado on the side. Waitress tells me the avocados haven't been very ripe but she would check on it for me. I said ok. Food comes out without word on the avocado but we have no silverware. Good 5 minutes at least before someone comes by that we can ask. Another few minutes to have it brought to the table. Avocado never came, so I assumed it wasn't ripe enough. So now almost 10 minutes after our food was brought out and has now cooled to room temp, waitress brings out silverware and rock hard avocado. Ok cool. Charge me extra for something I can't eat. Can we get some waters, finally? Peppers in the dish were supposed to be grilled, but still completely raw. Are you tired of reading this? I'm tired of writing it. Bird shit on tables ruining customers clothes without a word from staff, bad service, sub-par food and overall a really frustrating experience. I've been here maybe 5 times hoping the food and/or service will get better but nothing's changed. Service is still awful, I'm sure it's because the servers are high schoolers who are probably more worried about turning/flipping tables than they are about the service that's being delivered. The food is alright here - burgers are bland, wings shouldn't even be called wings since there's hardly any chicken on it (should be called saucy skin and bones instead) and the chips and salsa is boring. The only thing great about this place I'd have to say is their bartender Ted! He's wonderful so if you're ever looking for a place to watch a game and have a beer, sit at the bar. Ok. Their mashed potatoes are wonderful. The burger I ordered was great. My friend's food was good. The problems weren't food related. The music was incredibly loud and it was too windy to sit outside. We did ask the waitress if she could turn down the sound and they did. But it's sad that this was after lunch and we could barely hear each other across the table from each other. Our bill came and it was $21 and some change. We gave the waitress the $20 in gift certificates that we had and a $5. She came back gathered our plates and said how wonderful it was that the gift certificates completely paid for our meal and left. No. It covered most of it. Not all. And we had to wait and wait for her to come back, and finally had to get her and tell her that we wanted the change from the $5. she was "Surprised" and "hadn't realized there was a $5" Needless to say, she didn't get a tip. --- Sadly the reason we had $20 in gift certificates was because they tried to charge my friend $15 for $8 of food "because it was a gift certificate and we can't give you cash back" even though any other place would give you a gift certificate for the balance remaining or take it off your gift card, or even write on the back of the certificate the difference that remained. He had to complain to the waitress and the manager about them not giving him the difference as any other place would do for them to reluctantly give him "Boomer Bucks" So basically if you go with a gift certificate, expect them to try to screw you. Each time I eat there the food is worse than the last visit. Not only is the food awful it's very expensive. It cost a family of three $50! for bar food. We're done with Boomerjacks. My co-worker had bought a Groupon for Boomer Jack's and we decided to use it one day for lunch last week when we were trying to avoid a potluck lunch at the office. While Vicki was not very impressed with her onion rings or her burger.. I really enjoyed my Chicken Fried Steak. First of all it wasn't bigger than a plate, which is just a waste because CFS never reheats well as leftovers. It had a good flavor and was the perfect size. I changed my side to the jalapeno mashed potatoes and they were good & had a strong kick to them. And I like it when my food kicks back. I went in on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. The place wasn't crowded however there was a lot of business in the bar area. I took my seat, and it took forever for a waitress to get my drink order, and she was faster with the food order. I ordered their California Avacado Chicken sandwich which wasn't that great. It seems that they really use low quality food. I have had much better chicken at subway. I am guessing this is a much better place for drinks than food. I would say 3 stars is about right for this place. I went in by myself for lunch on a weekday. The service was OK, as was the food. Nothing wrong with it but nothing special. I am guessing this is a great place for hanging out and watching sports in the evening or on weekends. For lunch it is not a repeat place for me. read more
