I'll start with the vibe, its definitely an Icehouse, TVs with all kinds of sports everywhere and a huge open eating area, there is a stage for live music but it was empty when we went, but it was during the World Cup and Mexico was playing that night so not surprised at all. They have a nice outdoor patio with two pool tables. If you're going expecting a quiet evening for middle age ears, then your expectations need to be changed, this is not a place for grumpy corner booth eaters, this place is alive. The staff, from the moment we walked in it was nothing but smiles from every employee we crossed paths with, which brings us to our waitress T, yes just the initial T, calm down cause she was amazing. She kept our drinks full and never made us feel rushed, she was the perfect balance of attentive but also giving us space. If you get her as your waitress you will not be disappointed. The food, we ordered the fried pickles, the Assembly Smashburger, and a Cubano Sammich. The fried pickles have ruined fried pickles for me from some of my favorite fries pickle places, they are crispy and tart and simply delicious. My wife had the Assembly Smashburger, the only warning about this burger is the juicyness makes it messy, but thats one mess everyone should be ok with. And the Cubano Sammich forget about it, if you like Cubanos this is the place for you!! Give the menu a peep, bwcause it has options that tickle any fancy! Queso Fuego Burger with Mac & Cheese substituted for fries. This is after sharing Chips & Queso with a Trio added. Eaten by a 62 year old man. It was great and I AM STILL ALIVE! Not too fuego. It's a messy burger to eat, but you can always wash up before you leave. OK to order if you've been married a long time or you're single. Newest bar on the east side. Visited while we were in the area. A couple of drinks and tried some appetizers. Typical bar but has an open feel concept. Which is really nice for people who like patio dining/drinking. They have great specials offering for lunch. That would be something to keep in mind next time I'm in this area. This place is super fun! We went on a Saturday evening with a group of 13 and were able to snag a table right away, which was great because they don't take reservations. Really easy spot with kids and they have live music, which is so fun! Our waitress was awesome. Really easy going about our large crew and attentive to our table. Plus, she was quick to choose to split our check up from the start. We started with the cheese curds and they were so yummy! The marinara was not warm, though, so was a bit off putting having cold marinara to dip in. I opted for the cranberry chicken wrap with a side salad and LOVED it. So good. The side salad was a nice serving. My sister chose the hot honey sliders for her meal and she raved about them. My husband opted for the Southwest salad and he ate every bite. No doubt that Assembly Ice House will become a trendy hot spot in Plano (in my opinion) lol They just opened, and it was a thrill to see a place hit the ground running with good food, a full-service bar, and premium TVs showing the Dallas Cowboys lose in style (at least the ambiance softens the blow). Everything ordered in our group was delicious, fresh, and made to order. The menu is spectacular!! TIP: They take reservations!! There's a stage tucked in the corner (I suspect they will have live acts or maybe a DJ soon). If you know any performers looking for a gig, this would be a great place for them to inquire. The outdoor area offers that classic icehouse vibe, complete with a bar, TVs and a dog-friendly patio, perfect for kicking back when the weather's nice. Friends told us about this hidden gem so on a nice afternoon we decided to check it out. We sat on the patio (all high top tables) and enjoyed playing a table-top game while perusing the menu. Our wait staff was really kind and did a great job keeping our water bottle filled, ice teas full and clearing away empty plates. We started with chips + queso which was enjoyed and when the chips ran out, they brought a refill. Our son enjoyed his Assembly Smashburger and was grateful for the double patty as they were thin! The bun was fresh and delicious and the french fries were tasty and well cooked. Our other son enjoyed the chicken and waffles, but ultimately wouldn't order it again. He said the waffle was okay, but the chicken was good and he'd rather just have the chicken next time. My husband liked the chicken sliders, but could have used more food. They were a good appetizer, but not filling enough for a meal. I enjoyed my Assembly Harvest Salad as a wrap. The portion of chicken was decent and the lettuce and other items were fresh. There was far too much dressing, but at least it tasted good! I would get this again, but just ask for the dressing on the side. ---- For a new place they are doing a great job. Our waitress said the menu has been tweaked multiple times, which is a great sign of a good chef willing to make changes as they are needed for a new restaurant. For ex: the Harvest Salad does not list cheese as an ingredient. I even asked when ordering it, BUT the chef did in fact include blue cheese/feta in the wrap. I had to send it back and both the waitress and chef apologized it wasn't listed on the menu, and would correct it. I think this place is going to be popular and attract all types of people. The large TVs and patio are dog friendly and kid friendly. The proximity to a community park across the street and the new Cliff Coffee Shop will draw people as well. read more

I give them 5 stars just for cooking in TALLOW! So hard to find any place using tallow. But the ambiance is great and location is great. I don't know if parking might become an issue when more people know about this place and other shops open up in the same shopping center. Our waitress ignored us the entire time, we only got half of our food and no drink refills I had to physically go find our waitress for our check even after asking the waitress who was serving the next table for help. So grateful to find this gem in Plano while it's still pretty much off the radar, I suspect it will be packed every day soon! We've been three times now. Every time has been a really good experience. First of all, it's a really nice, simplistic and spacious place. Lots of TVs for watching sports. A large, beautiful patio spans the north end of it, and the bar inside looks to seat about 34. Staff is friendly, including hostess, managers, ownership, servers, table bussers, and bartenders. One of our favorites is Kat. She makes really great cocktails, both those on the menu and those where you ask her to just play!! She can really sling some fine craft cocktails! She's also very kind, very attentive and has a delightful sense of humor. Let's talk food. We've tried several things! The spicy Philly Cheesesteak sandwich was good, but wasn't spicy - I think that part may have gotten forgotten. It's okay though, it was good as it was!! We also had the burger sliders, very good, didn't need mustard since the sauce that was on them was delicious. Being wing fanatics, we tried those too. Buffalo hot was good, looking forward to trying the lemon pepper next time, and to trying the other flavors they plan to add later on. They fry in beef tallow, which definitely makes everything tastes better!! Fries cooked more on the well done side are some of the best around (we like them a little extra crisp). The cheese curds were delightful, marinara and ranch with them were so good. But the best thing so far on the menu? The Truffle Spud Nuggets. Crispy on the outside, fluffy potato on the inside, a delicious aoli drizzled on and for dipping on the side. Those nuggets are one of my favorite foods EVER now!!! I so want to love this place, BUT they need to get their stuff together, First visit was good, but they charged us incorrectly. 2nd visit, had the special/HH cards on the table, but they didn't charge according to card, they did remove the cards and honored for 1 drink each. Today, they somehow messed up our order of onion strings, the waitress apologized and said the manager would comp (he did NOT). Got our bill, they charged us $5 for Coors lite and $4 for Miller, after we asked, they changed that, but we had points on app for free app, they didn't remove that or comp the onion strings. First time here. Staff friendly, limited food options, especially if you don't like Brussel sprouts or cheese curd. Beer selection is the usual with a few locals thrown in. The main complaint is that it's overly and unnecessarily loud. It's impossible to talk to the person next to me without shouting in their ear. Music should be ambient and not dominating. I come out to socialize, I have a car or eat buds for loud music. Turn it down! Can't see myself being a regular at these decibels. [Update] Thank you to the owner for their response, however they seem to have mixed up the volume of the live music (no problem with loud) with the piped in music (too loud). We came in on a Sunday after reading some positive reviews. We were searching for a locally-owned place with great service, good food, and some TVs to watch football. This place hit the mark for us in all aspects. While they did not have every NFL game, there were plenty of TVs with the games we were interested in. The service was amazing(thanks to Jay and Lucy) and the food was very good. Tallow fries were hot and crispy and the smash burger was juicy with a great sauce. We loved the chips and queso and the drinks were spot on. We highly recommend and will be visiting Tacoro and Cliff Coffee which is all in the same area owned by the same individuals. 8 o'clock on a Friday night and the inside was empty and some people on the patio. Cool concept but needs some help. We had to repeatedly ask for water refills and after ordering a couple drinks we were never asked if we wanted another drink the rest of the time we were dining. The beef tallow fries and spud nuggets were very good. Queso was also solid but they were out of spinach dip at 8pm on Friday. Also they were out of draft shiner, how does that happen on a weekend. 4 smash burger orders and none of them were correct and 4 items came out at once and the other 2 dinners came out 15 minutes later. The smash burgers were good just not hot for as long as we waited. My Wife asked for grilled chicken Sandwhich and was brought a fried chicken Sandwich. Order was corrected after another 10/15 minutes. I had to show server how I could pay using the inKind app. He had never seen it and had no idea. Glad I had a $25 off coupon to encourage trying this place We were not offered any kind of discount for all the mixups. 2 side salads forgotten. We had to request our salad dressing 2 times.
