I finally got a chance to visit this Boon Boona! Usually I frequent the flagship store (downtown Renton) but I was in the area. This Boon Boona may be smaller, but mighty. They have bags of Boon Boona coffee you can get there, and a lovely seating area. They also have their amazing pinwheel pastries. Also, a shoutout to them for carrying Umami Kushi pastries! I enjoyed my usual (latte with almond milk). This was a quick stop for me today, but I would love to linger in the future. Excellent location and excellent service!

I love going to Boon Boona!!! Their matcha is great and so is the strawberry matcha!!!! I feel like they have other great drinks too that I just haven't tried yet. They also have a punch card! Service is super fast and it's tucked away in the bookstore at UW which is such a cute location.

It's been a chilly start to spring here in Seattle. While visiting the UW campus to see the lovely cherry blossoms, we stopped by Boon Boona for a hot beverage and to escape the cold. The coffee shop is inside the University of Washington bookstore, replacing the old in store café. There are several tables and I love the wall art which really brightened up the space. We were the second customers of the day and the two employees kindly greeted us. The cashier had such a cheerful attitude and contagious positive energy. He nicely pointed out their selection of house-made syrups and seasonal drinks as we perused the menu. You could tell he genuinely enjoys interacting with the customers. I selected the seasonal HOJICHA LATTE ($6 for 12 oz.) The barista used a bamboo whisk to mix the Hojicha powder with water then added steamed milk and a bit of simple syrup. It had a pretty strong tea flavor and I could taste its nutty and toasty notes. The sweetness level was just right as well. The only thing was that it wasn't served at the temperature I'd expect. Most of the time with hot drinks, I have to wait a few minutes before taking the first sip, but I was able to drink this one right away. One of my companions also said her coffee wasn't as hot as she usually likes it. Two others in my group got the BERBERE MOCHA ($6 for 12 oz.) which the barista suggested for its complex spicy flavor. They both liked this twist on your traditional mocha. The next time I'm at the bookstore, it'll be tough to resist grabbing a drink here before browsing the UW gear, books and gift items. Even if you don't intend to shop, I'd say it's still worth visiting just to give Boon Boona a try.

I finally had the opportunity to stop by the third Boon Boona Coffee located in the University Book Store (3/19/23). The others are located in Renton and near Seattle University. This site was designed by La Union Studio. This cafe is located adjacent to the sports apparel section, on the main floor of the bookstore. Friendly counter staff, one especially with a distinct infectious laugh. Warm colors adorn one side of the cafe. Decent amount of table and counter seating with an amazing useful amenity...lots of outlets! Great for students/staff, visitors, and passersby. I recall traveling through a new city and wished I could charge my phone. There are coffee drinks, refrigerated beverages, Ellenos yogurt, baked goods, coffee beans, and cafe branded merch available for purchase. The Homie selected a 12oz hot chocolate and I tried a 16oz mocha. Just okay with regards to presentation, temperature, and flavor. Love the bright signature cups they were served in. Great place to duck in from the action on The Ave or to pause with your bookstore purchases.

I'm a big fan of Boona Boona. Although this location is not as aesthetic as the other locations, it's has a nice relaxed vibe for studying. It's located in the University Bookstore so don't forget about it while out on the Ave! I liked their baked goods and was happy with the croissant I got. I love their regular house coffee but Theo always have great seasonal items too. I tired the Spiced ginger tea latte which was like a fruity London fog. Service was fast and the staff were helpful with helping me decide what to choose.

But honestly? The energy worked. The staff was moving with that calm, unbothered flow only seasoned baristas have. Friendly, attentive, and somehow keeping the line moving without making anyone feel rushed. Respect. Light was flooding every corner; that soft Seattle glow that makes you want to pull out your journal and pretend you live inside a cozy indie film. Ventilation was perfect. Temperature was perfect. Seating options? Abundant. And not the awkward wobbly kind either. This spot is built for lingering. I grabbed a latte, sat down, and immediately fell into an art journaling trance. There's something about being surrounded by curated shelves of books and cute little treasures that just unlocks your brain. It's the kind of place where you look up after ten minutes and somehow an hour passed. This was my first visit, but it's already on my list of "places I'll actually come back to and get work done." A rare category, honestly. If you're looking for a café that feels like a creative reset button; this is a great one.

I looked up their yelp page as well as their Instagram and knew I had to come just to get one of their lattes with their amazing foam art! They have a variety of waffles and sandwiches on the menu that seemed appetizing however because I got here after 3:30 the kitchen was closed but they have a variety of pre-made burritos and sandwiches that you could still buy. I love that they have a huge variety of non-dairy milks including soy which is my favorite. I wanted to get the turmeric latte however I mentioned that I couldn't wait to see the foam art and the Baristas told me that due to the light color of the latte, it would be difficult to see the foam art so I instead ordered the red velvet latte with soy and it was as delicious as it was cute! I also got the egg and sausage cheese burrito and it was chock full of eggs and sausage... very filling. The decor and seating options are plentiful upstairs and downstairs. They also have free pineapple infused water for guests to drink which I appreciate. Seems like a popular spot for UW students to do work as there are lots of outlets for their laptops.

I was surprised that the cake was so cheap around $4 but after the first bite, it tasted like it was from a Safeway bakery, which made me feel a bit scammed. The latte was a very light roast, so the coffee flavor was barely noticeable and it felt more like drinking hot milk. On the positive side, the servers were sweet and friendly. It took about 5-7 minutes to get our drinks, and the place was packed around 1:30 pm on a Saturday.
