My go-to coffee shop when I am in Seattle!! The baristas are AWESOME, very friendly, and have good recommendations. The coffee is a nice blend and they have a ton of different flavors/syrups and speciality coffees/teas/drinks, etc. I recommend any of their specialty lattes with cold foam. So fun. I haven't tried their pastries or quick food, but I have heard good things. They moved locations (across the street) and I love the new set up: perfect for working or just stopping by. read more

Came here at around 8 in the morning, the spot was pretty decently packed with about 2 people in line ahead of us. The place is super nice and pretty inside and they even have a couple of tables outdoors with a cover above. There are people working and just hanging out and people grabbing to go. The service was very quick and friendly. We ended up ordering a few items, including 2 drinks a ham and cheese croissant and a donut, it seems that they source their pastries from macrina bakery. Overall i really like the drinks and the vibes here but i wouldn't recommend the food. Would def come back, pleasant spot. S'mores mocha - 8.5/10. Lot of whipped cream which they asked if I wanted and I said sure, I didn't get a very strong heavy s'mores flavor. But it's a really good mocha, not too sweet or anything. Peach sparkling lemonade - 9/10: just really good Maple bar: 5/10. Its fine. Taste like a donut from a grocery store, good but nothing special Ham and cheese croissant - 6/10 we asked them to heat it up for us and they did which was awesome , but besides that it didn't taste like anything special and was something I could very easily make at home. I LOVE this place! Especially in the new location across the street! Wayyyy cuter than the old building! The staff are why I keep coming! They are so friendly and make everyone feel welcomed! They've also perfected my super complicated drink, so I am forever thankful! It brings me so much joy! The new space is extremely open and allows a lot of seating, specifically good for groups. How is this place so packed?! I tried espresso and a latte with almond milk and the coffee is so acidic that it comes through even with the milk. I added cream and sugar to the espresso to make it tolerable. It was hands down the most acidic espresso I've had and I wouldn't recommend to order it. read more

I loveee going here to grab a drink and walk over to Greenlake! It's the perfect stop but also the interior of Diva Espresso is so cute and homey. There is also plenty of outdoor covered seating in case you don't find any inside. Maple pecan cinnamon roll: I wish we got it warmed up but it still tasted SO GOOD! The topping is very sugary but the roll itself isn't sweet at all so it works out well. Cupids chai: I'm obsessed with the fact that they have a Valentine's Day menu! The girl seemed like she didn't seem to enjoy her work or annoyed that she had to make our coffees or take our orders or answer simple questions, even though we were very kind and polite. Maybe it's a beautiful Saturday morning and she rather be elsewhere, hey, I totally get it, we all do. But don't ruin mine. The sandwich was good, especially when it's toasted. The coffees were above average good, but the cream powders they used quickly clump together at the bottom. Overall, over-priced, but the shop does deliver! We thoroughly enjoyed baking in the sun with our dog in their privately gated dog-friendly patio. Would we come back? Not when there are so many great shops around but two things did make this location stand out: The patio. Quiet. Secluded. Spacious. And under a beautiful giant flowering pink blossom tree. Away from buzzing coffee making machines and enclosed human chatters. They have Hemp Milk substitutes. Which says a lot because most places don't! I really liked their French vanilla latte (added hazelnut, one shot expresso). In spite of it all, we might just be back to have another do-over on one more of these days. read more

This has been our go-to coffee place since we moved in to the neighborhood. They brew the perfect coffees. We don't have any outrageous requirements from our coffees -- one Cappuccino and one Americano with room. The baristas here make no mistakes in creating the perfect cups. They even have a wonderful outdoor seating area surrounded by trees where my wife and I have discussed the universe and the meaning of life. read more

Diva Espresso or as it rings in my mind: the Other Diva. The one I look forward to visiting again when things (not just the weather, hah) improve - so I can sit outside. I've been to this location a couple times and had good experiences. It's a little out of the way if you're not in the neighborhood, but alluring enough to give it a go. And they employ nice baristas. I like their orange zest lattes; the zest takes away the bite of the roast if you're like me and generally not used to 2 shots of darker roasts. The second time I went the barista did something with my oatmilk that made the coffee taste even better. Massive thanks for that! :) I'm not sure why this location gets such bad reviews. I like it. Ok so I got unlucky but wanted to leave this as a psa to others. I came to Fremont from the Eastside so I didn't want to go to a chain coffee shop and found this place had fairly good reviews. The barista's service was good and the drink he made was very tasty. I saw a guy in front of me getting an item from the day old basket , so I decided to get something from their day old basket even though I wasn't originally planning to. It was supposedly a gluten free item and I started eating it. I'm not used to gluten free pastries at all. It didn't taste all that great but I wasn't alarmed at that point. After I had at least a 3/4 of it, I saw some green stuff. I wasn't even sure what filling was supposed to be in there so I asked. The barista was unsure but suspected that it was probably not supposed to be there. He kindly offered to get me anything in exchange but at that point I didn't want anything else. I am particularly concerned now because I've been taking medication (and will be for a little while) that would suppress my immune system. I hope in a few hours I won't be super sick. I should have just gone to Starbucks. Maybe their day old basket doesn't even get refrigerated over night. The shop isn't air conditioned so yeah basically they're taking chances with their customers' health by offering stuff day old stuff this way. It also sounded like from the barista that this has happened on and off before. I assumed that "day old" meant "not as fresh as today's but safe to eat," and not "you're rolling the dice as some items might have gone bad." So 4 stars for the taste of the drink and service and 0 stars for continuing to sell day old stuff in that way when they know some had gone bad before. read more

Let's face it, Diva is the best. Only like four locations in the whole world. If we can't have France or Italy, we can have Diva. I've been going here (mostly to the Greenwood store) ever since I got back from my road trip in 2002, and I just love it. In the fall, in the morning near sunrise, this place is just picturebook and a story in itself. They only hire professionals. The guy who made my espresso was new, so I "trained" him along with his coach about doing the Cuban style (sugar infused with the grounds) and my Generro (espresso with an orange twist). Great snacks and cookies to go along with your coffee. Inside space is limited, as is nearby street parking so if you see it, grab it! The Chumley is also very delicious, but somewhat bland at times, so I always tell them extra powder (which they won't charge you for), and add two shots. OMG. One time I had to have two in a row. A Chumley is an espresso milkshake. You can have it tweaked any way that you like. read more

Cortado here is very mediocre. The espresso flavor is almost too muted, and has a bit too much milk. I think the drink itself was still really smooth, I think the milk was still steamed well. I think it has the potential to be a good cortado but the milk-to-espresso ratio needs some tweaking. read more

This was a meh coffee shop. Not bad, but not one I will go back to, given the number of excellent shops in the area. When I visited, the barista wasn't very friendly, but he made coffee and that really is his job. I got an Americano which tasted about Starbucks grade. The shop was out of artificial sweeteners, which was a little annoying. I know, I know, cancer, but that is pseudoscience, and if I want to consume fake sugar, I appreciate having it available. That said, the barista did try to look for some, so it was nice of him to make an effort. The space inside is small: five tables, so if you are planning on working make sure you have a backup plan. The space could also be pretty loud depending on who was in there, so it might not be a great place to focus and work. They seem not to mind people there camped out on laptops, however, which is nice. Sometimes you get the side-eye when you ask for the wifi code, and that wasn't the case here. That said, the wifi wasn't working, so that was a problem. They have a password protected network, with the password on the wall, but I wasn't ever able to get it to work (and neither was another customer, so it wasn't just me). Average prices, average drinks, average atmosphere, average snacks. If you're in Seattle, for god's sake, seek out something superlative. read more

This espresso stand has been here since I was old enough to drink coffee :) I remember going to my grandmother's house next to st. john and wondered if diva espresso was for diva's or if the women in their were diva's. --Noted it's just a name, and the people that work there are soooo utterly nice ---- Anyhow, after 27 years of living I get to experience the fine cup of their espresso, and shoot if it doesn't make you go ahhh chi wawa, then forgetaboutit :) It's damn good coffee/espresso and I am glad it has not been stomped on by starbucks!!!!! read more

This is the only location I've gone. The baristas are friendly and quick. They rotate their drip, I think. One of their roasts reminded me of a large chain's dark roast (which I don't like). Most of the time, though, the brewed coffee is great. And their raspberry scone was so good! read more

A mere few blocks away, on a block by itself, is the perfect study cafe. I found it at last! This optimal setting is welcoming, very non-diva esque, and therefore deserving of my praise. Here's why: Wide, large tables, and only 5 of them at that, with relatively comfy chairs. No time-wasted here on people watching, no lines, no over-crowding (well, on a week day).Two or three tables have wifi only, the others are for catching up with a friend or reading. Catch the mid-day lull and you can get some serious work done, this place is not raucous, it's relaxed and rad. The music can be heard gently in the background - this is key for when you're nose deep in your Quant or Economics book and you need to concentrate. It irks me when the music is blasting in coffee shops and robs the place of any semblance of serenity. I sat here for a good few hours and only left because I had somewhere to be. Temperature was comfortable too. Onto the food and drink: The vegan scones are not bad at all, neither is the frothy chai latte. Coffee is solid, fair-trade, and you get one free re-fill. Overall, the pastry selection is not huge, but they have enough for snack time. They also have smoothies and other frosty drinks, which I have not tried yet. Staff, super friendly and efficient :) Ooh and on a sunny day, they have outside seating. I'll be back tomorrow, hope there's a spot for me, the barista did say it gets packed on the wkds. read more

Diva roasts their own beans and produces a really rich and flavorful coffee. Their mochas are made with high-quality syrup with an excellent chocolate flavor. Good pastries and breakfast sandwiches too. It's a pleasant place to sit and enjoy your drink of choice. read more
