Wanted to try Macrina bakery & Cafe since long. The vibes for the place is really nice with comfortable seating and a good music in background Service was not that great they didn't even warmed the food and there were no plates so I had to take on paper bags even though I was dine in.

I never really like any sandwiches from cafes. But that changed when I tried Macrina bakery in Kent. So I have a very high expectation from Macrina any location. However this place I didn't like very much unfortunately. I ordered a cup of americano, a cup of tomato soup and a croissant. Their croissant that was warmed was very soft and great buttery flavor. The soup was not strong more vegetables soup with some tomatoes to me. It came with a wheat bread and butter. The 12 oz americano was bland. The bakery was full of customers that we had to share the window seats with another person. Still it was a good environment that we were able to stay for a while.

This was not the place for me. I found no flavor in the cookie and my coffee had lots of grainy coffee bits. I may give it another chance in the future. They do have lots of pastry options and sitting area if you wanna meet up with from or for work.

What a nice treat for the neighborhood. We went there after a walk on a weekday afternoon and it was still a pleasant crowd with many options left in the bakery section. Their matcha was refreshing. Their walnut bread was yummy and fresh. The cafe is pretty big with spacious seating for the family to enjoy. There is a nice ramp inside for the mom's with strollers like I was. The staff was sweet and quick. Street parking.

Cute little neighborhood cafe that's walking distance to where I was staying. Love their selection of pastries and breads. Coffee is good and I love the interior decorations. This location seemed quite busy with "remote" workers or students so I'd say it would be a good place to bring your laptop and get some work done!

Ambiance and service always top notch. Food, sure it was good. Biscuit, sausage, and egg breakfast sandwich was good on the dry side, it could take it to the next level if they had added gravy on the side. Brioche bread, with ham and egg was good but an added arugula or avocado slices would be better.

I stopped by to pick up a baguette and a few bagels this morning. I've had great bread from Macrina before at other locations but perhaps bread is made differently at this one. I was most disappointed. Both the bread and bagels tasted stale and dry. As well, their crusts were thin and rubbery, not like you'd expect from artisan breads - more like day-old supermarket breads. I don't know whether they were baked fresh but they certainly didn't live up to what I expected. While the other offerings looked delicious, I would strongly advise against this location for breads.

It's located in the same spot after many decades in Seattle's Wedgwood neighborhood. Since there's several cafes along this stretch of 35th NE, as point of reference, it's two doors south of Wedgwood Broiler. It shares a huge parking lot and adjacent to a Metro bus route. It had a nice autumn hue from the overhead lighting and interior decor. The local art for sale adorning the walls was a nice added touch. Upbeat, welcoming staff. It was full right at noon and brisk walk-in takeout traffic. Nice overhead music to chill, dine, and/or do laptop stuff. They offer the usual bev menu, as well as, breakfast & lunch items, soups, salads, modest pastry case (from Alki Bakery), merch, and coffee roasts from Zoka. The 16oz mocha was well crafted temp wise & good balance of espresso, steamed milk, and chocolate. I also opted for the roast beef panini without the horseradish. Generously filled with roast beef, havarti, mayo, and red onion on savory focaccia. It was provided with au jus and I selected potato salad versus chips. The au jus was not salty, so after dipping, I also sipped the hot broth. Very flavorful and filling. The other panini half I'll have to take home. Thanks to fellow Yelp Elite All Star, Will L for a compelling post. This was a pleasant detour for lunch.

A friend of mine invited me for lunch, and we popped by there around noon. It wasn't too crowded, with ample seating, even for a place that's pretty small. The staff were very warm and friendly, and even joked with us a bit. Beyond the food, we had a good time hanging there. My friend suggested the vegan sandwiches, specifically the Turkey Firehouse. It was delicious! Van Gogh is now on the list of local lunch spots to hit!

They have so many yummy options, but I settled on a mushroom and Gruyère pastry and an earl grey blueberry cruffin. The mushroom and Gruyère pastry was SO good!!! Buttery flaky layers of dough with a strong earthy mushroom flavor and savory cheese - an absolute umami bomb. We ate it the day after and threw it in the air fryer for a couple of minutes, and it was so delicious. The cruffin was huge! Topped with a delicious light Earl grey cream that wasn't too sweet. It was filled with a blueberry cream and was definitely very filling. There's a lot of sugar coating it, as is standard with cruffins, but it's a nice sweet treat. Definitely coming back for the mushroom and Gruyère pastry and to try their other delicious flavors. Their supreme croissant flavor switches often and we can't wait to try the next one! I originally planned to just grab a coffee and a croissant, but after noticing how popular the mushroom Gruyere croissant seemed, I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did. It was incredibly delicious, perfectly filling, and even better when warmed up. The staff member kindly offered to heat it for me, which really elevated the whole experience. While they serve Umbria coffee, which isn't my personal favorite, the food more than made up for it. The service was warm and friendly, and the overall vibe was welcoming. I'll definitely be back to try the mushroom croissant again or maybe explore some of their other pastries next time.

The cafe area is spacious and it had a nice display of chocolate that you could sample and choose from to be used in your drink. I had the mocha with Colombia chocolate. The drink tasted too strong and bitter for my taste, though. I don't think you could make it any less strong because Colombia chocolate seemed to be on the lower side of cacao percentage among other selections here. The bitterness could've also come from the espresso shots too. I prefer Spinnaker's mocha to the one here because Spinnaker's is not as bitter and more smooth. But if you prefer your chocolate more bitter and espresso stronger, you might like Cocoa Legato's mocha better. The place was giving good vibes, so I'd be happy to take friends and hang out and maybe I'll get a different kind of drink next time I'm here.
