Classic neighborhood brunch restaurant that isn't too expensive. Food came out decently fast and was okay and service was also alright. Bloody Mary and Irish coffee were strong and flavorful, enjoyed chicken and waffles and Huevos rancheros.

Great food, long, interesting menu and the service is lovely. Neat old building - wish they would do More to brighten it up! Still very much recommend .

If I were in the neighborhood I'd go again, but wouldn't travel to it or suggest it to friends, so 3stars. This was a cozy corner restaurant with friendly staff, a large menu, and average prices. There is a lot of promise on the menu but one of our dishes just wasn't that good, maybe I found their weak spot. Corned beef hash was great. TONS of meat to it, large filling plate, eggs cooked right to order. It had a specific spice flavoring to it but I can't put my finger on it. The corned beef was moist and fall-apart, in good chunks where I think some had a little fat still running through them which added a lot. The biscuits and gravy was where we both agreed things fell apart. The gravy tasted pretty good, but the amount was small and thin across the plate. This meant when I got it, it was already room temperature. It also means there wasn't nearly enough for the thick dry biscuit. A little ramkin or other container for extra gravy would be a good upgrade to both the quantity and temp issues. The biscuit also had a sweetness to it that I didn't enjoy but to each their own. Those fried potatoes on the side though... crisp outside, flaky steamy inside, and piping hot. Thinking about it again, dump some sausage gravy over those fried potatoes and you're easily up to a four star in my book!

Got a new job in this area and this seems to be a pretty popular place for breakfast and lunch. Dr took us here for a lunch since the financial person I was replacing is retiring. Service was really quick and friendly. I love that their is art on the walls from local artist. Anyways I ordered a Turkey and cranberry sandwich with fries. It was very yummy! Was not expecting a fresh cran sauce in the sandwich but it was so good. Could use more Brie since I didn't see anything but no complaints. Lunch was delicious and we'll probably be back as it's a few blocks away from us.

Came here for the GF baked goods, ended up getting chicken fried steak (not GF) as well and a pancake lol. The baked goods were all yummy, although they did cause somewhat of an upset stomach. No surprise as it's not a dedicated GF place, so we'll just assume cross contamination which we were aware was a possibility. Two of the three GF baked goods we tried didn't cause any distress, and the one that did wasn't a full-blown case of disturbance. The chicken fried steak was great, although I think the country gravy was a little lacking. The pancake was pretty standard but good. Staff was friendly and helpful. I'd be willing to eat here again, especially with the option of the GF goodies for the wife.

Went a second time a few weekends ago. Bf and I thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday breakky. Got there at peak time but were lucky to grab outdoor seating right away. Menu is solid with lots of options. Price is reasonable and portions are hefty. I can see some other places charging at least $5 more for some of the items on their menu for the same amount and quality of food. Their Summer omelette with roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, and goat cheese was so yummy! Light (not greasy) and heavy on flavor. Pancakes were up to standard and chicken fried streak was good too. Bf said it's not his top chicken fried steak place but still, "not bad." Fresh. Squeezed. Grapefruit. Juice. Get it. (Also avail in orange). Love supporting local. Bf and I plan to keep this place in regular rotation for our Sunday dates.

I was on the hunt for a "go-to" breakfast spot in our new neighborhood. I found it! They have an extensive breakfast menu, 3 pages of choices! AND they serve it all day!! My kinda place! The first time I went I had the CFS (chicken fried steak) it came with eggs, potatoes and toast. The gravy had chunks of sausage, and good flavor! The potatoes were chunks (home fries type). Definitely not my favorite breakfast potato choice (I'm a hash brown fan) but they were cooked well (crispy) and tasted pretty darn good! And the bread was to die for. Homemade and thick! We took our friends here for breakfast this morning bc as well as having amazing breakfast, they also serve mimosas (that is one of their requirements of a breakfast establishment). My husband and I both ordered Biscuits and Gravy with a side of fried chicken (chicken breast tenders) and it came with eggs. We're on to something here. I don't know why this isn't an option anywhere, it is such a good and hearty breakfast. Way better than CFS if you ask me! Next time we will both get the same thing again, but will definitely ask for a side of gravy... because let's be honest, there is no such thing as too much gravy! The Bryant Cafe is fire! It is my neighborhood staple for breakfast! Food is fantastic, and the service is great, even when it's a full house! A++ !!

So...we are trying desperately to like this place again. We have been coming for almost 20 years but ever since it reopened...it's gone downhill. Today marks the third time in a month when we arrived at 7:30 AM (the posted opening time) on a weekend and were told either "it's not open yet" (door was shut and even a female wait staff couldn't get in) or "we don't have a cook so you can come in and have coffee but there won't be food for another 40-45 mins". Well if that is the case maybe just open later then??

I love coming to this spot for a light meal of poached eggs on Macrina toast w/ sausage links on the side, and a black coffee. I've been here a few times and enjoyed the service, quality of the food, and price point. Today I decided to branch out from my usual and ordered the Bryant breakfast. It's basically what I already order, with a side of potatoes. While understanding that today is busy and a holiday, the potatoes I received were partially undercooked, and I was unaware that the bread that comes with this meal is not Macrina. It was more like your average diner toast. The service was okay, I could tell there was some stress from the volume of people dining at the moment, however, 2 different people asked me if I was done eating, when I still had 1/2 of the food on my plate. I am not sure if this was because I was 1 person sitting in a booth, but I didn't notice anyone waiting to sit down. More offerings of 2 person tables should be available, rather than every table being 4+ people. This made me feel pressured to eat faster while I was sitting there trying to enjoy my meal and some light reading. I was there for less than 1 hour. I will continue coming here on a regular basis because i love the food, but didn't really like how I was treated this time around. P.S their sausage is my absolute favorite. Hardly greasy and full of flavor. Highly recommend!

First thing to mention, kudos for their longevity. They are coming up on their first decade next summer. The cafe decor also held up pretty well, including the large glass fixture from the ceiling. This indie cafe had folks onsite, but not packed. There was still room available whether seated along the sidewalk, main seating area, or the upstairs mezzanine. Some convos to be had, but most of the cafe clientele were on their laptops or reading. Pastry case was well stocked with the wholesale variety from Macrina, plus the usual bevs and cafe fare. I enjoyed my near two hour onsite visit. The only thing I wished is that I had brought a hoodie. The AC was jacked up. and of course, I had savored an iced mocha. My go to order has always been the Mr Breakfast plate, it's super hearty and full of great breakfast foods. However, the price has increased exponentially and quality has definitely gone down. I used to pay around $15 for this plate and it included bacon and now it's $17 + an extra $4 to add 2 pieces of bacon. (The bacon is totally worth it though). The potatoes recipe need to be completely refined, or they need to offer a substitution option for them. They are overly soft and they don't have nearly enough seasoning. That was the only thing that remained on my plate when I was done! and the soft boiled egg tasted a little off to me, like it had been sitting for a bit long. Other than that, the Turkish eggs and chopped chicken salad were very fresh and good. Staff were super nice when ordering at the counter, coffees and pastries were good as well. Overall I will come back here, just would like to see some quality changes with the Mr Breakfast as it used to be very good.

Speaking of the drinks, they serve many kinds of coffee- and matcha-based drinks along with some pastries on the side. I saw the caphe-misu and matcha-misu a lot so we decided to get both of these drinks, but they were out of the matcha-flavored tiramisu cake for the drink, so I got their ube cream latte instead and shared the caphe-misu. It took about 5-7 minutes to get our drinks, and the place was packed around 1:30 pm on a Saturday.
