They were very nice, the place was pretty quiet as it was off season so the food came out quickly. It was just mediocre though. The bagels (I got an egg everything) were still somehow flavorless. An everything MUST have salt- it's non negotiable. In lieu of that- adding a touch of salt to the cream cheese would have helped. Salt is not meant to make things salty but to bring out the flavors of the food. Without it- it's one note bland. Pancakes were decent but for a bagel place please make the bagels more edible. Great breakfast spot on King street. Like anything in Boone, parking is tight but they do have a couple of spots. We easily found a street spot not too far away. There is seating inside and out. Definitely a no frills spot- cutlery is plastic, plates and cups were paper, coffee came in to-go paper cups. The food was fine- nothing special. The bagels didn't taste as homemade as I expected. They did have a large menu and offered a lot of breakfast items- more than just bagels. The service seemed a bit slow for what we ordered, but it looked like a ton of people were waiting in the lobby, so they may get a lot of to-go orders that backed up the kitchen. I have had the same issues here multiple times. The food takes tooooo long to come out even when eating in. We came in and the table sat after us got their food at least 15 minutes prior to us. I expect to wait 30 minutes for a full breakfast plate but when all we got was bagels and the wait is over 40 mins and they are not even fully packed. I rarely give below 5 stars. Here's the thing. They have vegan options. They got one wrong. They did refund me. Stuff happens. They were busy! If you want the vegan tempeh sandwich you need to specify the lunch sandwich (omit any mayo) and NOT the breakfast egg and tempeh sandwich. (Even though only the lunch one is called tempeh sandwich) I'm looking forward to going back and being able to try their food for real. I ended up just having a plain bagel because we didn't have time for them to remake my order correctly. (Not their fault, again, they were busy) My partner's tempeh Reuben was good! I am absolutely baffled by people here saying the food was good. My wife and I stopped here on our way out of town, looking for a quick bite as it was Sunday so most places were packed. This place has been here for as long as I can remember, so I figured it would be fine. In addition to the fact that service as just as lacking as others have described (extremely slow, waiter forgot our order several times, generally sticky and unwelcoming environment), our food here was all but inedible. After waiting quite a while as literally the only people dining inside, we finally received our lattes--sweet and syrupy to the point of being undrinkable--and food. My wife ordered a bagel sandwich. What she got was a soggy, untoasted freezer-quality bagel with an egg and a Kraft single. It was missing the sausage she ordered. I got the bagel French toast. The blueberry bagel was synthetic tasting, and the whole thing was cold and soggy. We were only able to take a few bites before paying and leaving to get food elsewhere. The reviews I read of this bagel place were mixed, but, we stopped in since not much was open when we needed breakfast. The service was friendly and the food was good. My wife and I ordered the lox and cream cheese bagel, and, both on whole wheat (mine was an "everything" bagel). When our order arrived at our table, the size of the wrapped bagel made us look twice and wonder what we had ordered - it seemed fairly large for just a simple lox, cream cheese and capers bagel. The taste was really good and full. They provided a healthy serving of lox, that I found refreshing after experiencing some versions that make open the bagel to look for it. The tomato, onion and caper all fit nicely into the very generous portion of cream cheese. So thick was it layered on that my wife had to remove some of it! However, I loved the amount! Pricing was reasonable. Indoor and outdoor seating was limited. If I am ever in town again, I'd consider stopping here again just for lox and cream cheese bagel. read more

We stopped here for breakfast while on a short work trip, and we both enjoyed our food a lot. I had a blueberry bagel with a flavored cream cheese (candied pecan cream cheese spread). My husband ordered chocolate chip pancakes with a side of sausage. Just a warning, the pancakes are quite large! We could have easily split an order of pancakes, haha. They have a lot of vegetarian and even vegan options, gluten free bagels (vegetarian, not vegan for the gluten free options), and a variety of bottled beverages along with the usual coffee, hot chocolate, etc. The only constructive criticisms we had were that we wished they had orange juice, and I would have liked slightly less cream cheese on my bagel (but I am sure many people would love the generous amount!). read more

Great service and good food! Sat outside on a Monday morning and ordered a bagel sandwich and home fries. Food came out quick - the potatoes were crispy and had a great flavor and the bacon and egg on the sandwich were cooked perfectly as well. The everything bagel itself wasn't the best I've had as it didn't have much flavor and was a little chewier than I like, but as a whole the flavor with the scallion cream cheese was really yummy.
