    Chicken piccata

One of the best meals I've had out in I'd say close to a year! Caesar salad was crisp and fresh and the chicken piccata was lemony and wonderfully zesty! I can't even make it that good! Everything was so good that I got a piece of Tiramisu to go! Service was stellar! I give the place my highest recommendation!

Great atmosphere, big booths, lots to choose. Was hard to pick so I hope we get a chance to go back. Garlic knots with mozzarella were warm and definitely fresh. I had the chicken festival. It was a creamy delicious sauce with lots of fresh red onion and tomatoes. Service was prompt and friendly. Check came with a QR code to simply scan and pay right from your phone.

Well by far THE BEST Martini, in my goodness, you killed it. Thanks! My server, Christy said they had watermelon flavored vodka & raspberry flavoring. No recipe. And wow awesome!! I ordered my go to grilled chicken salad. It was so good, tender chicken and fresh salad fixings. Always good, always fresh and the Black Olive never disappoints you only regret showing up alone with no dance partner. The weather is perfect for a porch dinner.

The shrimp scampi includes mushrooms and tomatoes, which typically isn't included with the shrimp scampi I typically have, but compliments the dish very well.

It's always good when you go into a restaurant and you hear a customer say, "every time we come…read moreinto town, we have to order pizza from here". It was decent pizza, not greasy at all. This place has real Italians working behind the counter and they know what they're doing. The bathrooms and restaurant are clean. The service was friendly. We had four large slices of pizza for $11.48. We drank free water. Even with the construction out front on the road, people were still coming in so they just have other good food as well.

Would I call it New York style ?...ehhhh...meh...probably not. I grew up in Central PA where all the pizza places were owned by NY/NJ transplants. The differences here are typical to what I've found in the South during my 37 years here. The dough doesn't quite have the gluten chew of NY pie and tends to be heavier. You don't get the airy bubbles on the crust end, etc The cheese is different as well and lacks the stretch of NY pie. The other differences are prep/convenience choices ...the Italian sausage here is ground and the onions and green peppers are diced. True NY pie uses sliced Italian sausage (looks just like the pepperoni) and jullienne cut veggies. These may seem like insignificant things but it matters. So...if you like the doughier Mellow Mushroom type pie this will satisfy you. If you're from the northeast and want something to make you feel like you're back home... then not so much. Get the single slice with pepperoni or just plain cheese if your want a foldable slice.

Parking is plentiful in a large paved lot. Several spaces are adjacent to the building, along with handicapped spaces. Other parking is along the side of the building as well as across a traffic lane. We planned to order take out but were unable to find a full menu posted online so had stopped by earlier and picked up a paper copy. The menu seems to be a work in progress with a lot of hand-written information, including a lot of additions to the offerings. It also includes a little of everything, from cheeseburgers to bacon cheese fries in addition to the expected Italian offerings. We decided on the garlic knots with cheese, the Venice pizza, and the chicken parmesan. We were told it would be ready for pick up in 25 minutes. I walked in about 20 minutes later. The entrance opens into a small seating area with a counter in front, and then the restaurant proper. The seating is a mix of tables and booths and separated into two sections by a low wall. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. The hostess went to check on my order and said it would be another five minutes (which is what was expected). I paid while waiting and then received my order when promised. The Venice pizza was topped with a nice mixture of sausage, hamburger, ham, onion, green peppers, banana peppers, and mushrooms. There were a lot of toppings and the entire surface was covered. My dining partner wished for a bit more pizza sauce and I thought the overall flavors were a bit muted. Still, it was cooked perfectly and certainly had a full quantity of toppings. The chicken parmesan was well packaged and stayed hot during the drive home. The dish was completely covered with cheese and had a good amount of chicken. The pasta was spaghetti. The flavor was good and also came with a small loaf of garlic bread. The garlic knots were the best of the items ordered. They were cooked perfectly, garlicky, and cheesy without being greasy or dry. The marinara dipping sauce was nothing special but worked fine with the knots. With the wide range of offerings, it would be hard not to find something you wanted to eat on the menu. Based on our first trip, everything is well prepared and offers good quantity for the price. We look forward to additional visits as they refine their menu.

You took the standard cheese pizza and slapped some sliced cheese on there and charged me $6 extra for that. If it weren't for this travesty I would've rated this four star pizza.

Located along a busy main business road, entrances to the parking lot are easy to find. This is a…read moresmall shopping center with plenty of parking although it is a bit tight to maneuver. There is one other restaurant as well as several businesses using this parking area so there is always traffic. Handicapped parking is limited with a couple spaces near their entrance and a couple more spaces further away from the door. You'll need to look for a ramp if needed as there is not one by their entrance, but that is not their fault. Walking in for lunch, there was a sign to seat yourself. The restaurant was slightly less than half full. Seating is a mix of tables and booths. There is a low wall on the left with tables on the other side which may be a bit more private or less busy. Most of the booth seats we passed need recovering and the general decor is older and could use a freshening. There is also a small bar in rear with about six stools. There is some background music noticeable but at a low volume which did not interfere with conversation. The temperature inside was rather cool and we left our coats on during our meal. Our waitress came by within a few seconds of us sitting down. She took our drink order and brought the drinks back within a minute. We asked for a few minutes to review the menu. After about ten minutes she returned, apologizing for getting distracted with bussing tables and taking other orders. It appears the restaurant was understaffed and our waitress was performing many tasks. We ordered two appetizers and two entrees. One appetizer dip came out piping hot in about ten minutes. The Buffalo Chicken dip was very good. There is distinct Buffalo flavor without significant spiciness. The majority of the included chicken was shredded as expected but there was one very large chicken piece in the middle. This needed a fork and knife to break apart to eat. The accompanying pita-type chips were warm, crispy on the outside and little puffy inside. The remaining appetizer was delivered about five minutes later, with the two entrees about five minutes after that. The Fall special Four Cheese Bruschetta dip was good. Three of the cheeses were well mixed and the mozzarella was layered on top in the middle of the bowl. Once this cooled a bit it was difficult to use the pita chips to dip any of the mozzarella so a fork was used. The fresh basil and roasted cherry tomatoes were nice garnishes. The Johnny's Special sub was fine but not really special. There was enough meat, lettuce, and tomato to feel it was a decent value but the flavor was overall bland. The onion, mayo, and Italian dressing were minimal to non-existent, at least as far as flavor was concerned. The bread was nicely toasted with a crispness without bordering on hard. The bottom of the sandwich did get soggy by the time the first half of the sandwich was eaten but it did not fall apart. The accompanying French fries were very good, crispy outside and tender inside. The Syracuse Stuffer Calzone was another decent value with adequate ingredients to make a complete meal. The steak was decently flavorful but there was also gristle (possibly grill scrapings) included which took away from the experience. The accompanying marinara dipping sauce was underwhelming. While the recipe ideas and flavors are interesting, the execution was lacking. The kitchen had an issue with the timing of sending out the different parts of the order although the entrees did arrive at the same time. Our server was obviously good at her job but was saddled with additional tasks beyond any reasonable expectation of being able to handle while still serving the customers. The overall potential of the menu does merit another visit.

Another fantastic find on our trip to Johnson City... another box checked: PIZZA!…read more We found Scratch Brick Oven and at first I thought we were in the wrong place because it's tucked into a residential area. But the second we parked, we could smell that wood-fired oven doing its thing. That smoky, toasty aroma? Instant confirmation we were exactly where we needed to be. Is this place fancy? Ahhhh... NO. And that's part of the charm. We went early for dinner (around 4:30ish). A few people were coming and going. You fill out your order on paper sheets and they make 12" pies, perfect for individual tastes. We ordered a plain cheese as our barometer (because you always judge a pizza place by the basics). I built mine with pepperoni, red onion, fresh mushrooms, and roasted whole garlic cloves. While I was trying to be subtle snapping photos, Theodore opened the door to the wood-fired oven and invited us to take a look. OMG. I LOVE a wood fire oven, and this one was glowing red hot. He explained the pies cook in about six minutes. They're thin crust but sturdy enough to hold their toppings once they cool and set a bit. Just look at the pics. Again... not fancy. Paper plates. Plastic utensils. But honestly? You could serve this on a paper towel and it would still be phenomenal. MIND. BLOWN. The crust is perfectly balanced and crunchy. The red sauce? Perfection. They smoke the meats in house, and that pepperoni was unlike anything I've ever had. And the roasted garlic? Absolute game changer. I imagine they already have a huge following, but if you haven't tried this place yet... put it on your list. Immediately.
