The 2 star rating is MY fault. I went to an Italian-ish restaraunt and ordered a cheeseburger. :( It tasted like prison food (not that I know what that tastes like, lol) If I blindfolded myself, I would not have known the meat was burger. We arrived on a Sunday for lunch. There were a descent amount of people, but the place is large enough to accommodate several patrons. Patio seating is also available. We were seated quickly. We ordered the calzone and shrimp scampi. Just like most calzones, it was huge and could probably feed a family of four (in my opinion) lol. The shrimp scampi was a shareable portion too. The shrimp scampi includes mushrooms and tomatoes, which typically isn't included with the shrimp scampi I typically have, but compliments the dish very well. They can do better. Friends recommended the place and ordered a hamburger and asked for it to be cooked medium. Was told not sure they can do that but will check. Burger came out gray in color, tasted like a frozen patty out of a box from Walmart. Wife ordered a Stromboli and it was chewy and seemed like to was just microwaved. Won't be back! read more

Oh my...this place was fantastic for our party of 8 for lunch. The lunch menu was great and the prices were reasonable. Our server Kierston gave us a great deal of attention and everyone loved their meal. This place has a great ambiance with some unique eating spaces. I would highly recommend dining here. read more

One of the best meals I've had out in I'd say close to a year! Caesar salad was crisp and fresh and the chicken piccata was lemony and wonderfully zesty! I can't even make it that good! The black olive in Elizabethton tn is so bad. The food was not edible and the prices were doubled the ones in johnson city and in jonesborough. Would not order from this black olive at all. My first time visiting. My BFF lives near here. We had been on vacation traveling for 2 weeks and winding down. She suggested The Black Olive. I am glad she did. Food is reasonably priced, great portions, good attentive service and just an enjoyable dinning experience. The next time I visit Johnson City The Black Olive will be on my list. Here's the thing: the food here is so delicious and the space is so nice. The person who seated our party and the folks in the front were so helpful and kind. Unfortunately, our server was really rude. She seemed a little short with us at first and later got defensive when we checked on some appetizers we had been waiting on for a while. The strangest thing was that when we ordered drinks and one of our party asked if she could have both a drink and a water, the server told her she could only have both if she would drink the water. When the water came, it tasted more chlorinated than the party member cared for, so she did not drink it. Our server brought this party member the bill at the end of the meal and told her that she got the bill because she didn't drink her water. It wasn't a lighthearted joke. It was just...bizarre. We really enjoyed our food and most of our experience. We will go to the Black Olive again, but I really hope we aren't assigned this server next time. read more

The garlic knots were good. Everything else was extremely mediocre. The chicken in the fettuccine Alfredo was like a lunch meat style, very off putting. I had personally had the 5 meat pasta and it was extremely underwhelming. We ordered a Hawaiian pizza to split and it had tons of cheese, not much sauce and the ham was lunch meat style as well. We saw our waitress about one time once we got the food. Overall, I wasted my money. I'd soon go to Fazoli's next time for half the price and better food. read more

We were staying in the roam mountain area and felt like a real good Italian meal it was recommended to go here and try out the food we order the lasagna and the eggplant Parmesan both were very good and very delicious the service from Kaitlyn was excellent including all the other staff checking up on us and making sure we were taking care of my soda was refilled three times and not once did I ask for it for to be refilled I would definitely highly recommend this place the food is very good reasonably priced and excellent parking read more

Exceptional Pizza! Stopped by while visiting the area and was blown away with the food quality, upscale decor, and family friendly service. We ordered the Pizza Margarita and it was incredible. Amy our server was fast and friendly she stopped by frequently to check on how we were doing. Even had the owner/manager Kinsey stop by to make sure everything was good. Everything I have tried has been delicious. Pasta, pizza, sandwiches (great cheesesteak!) the appetizers, salads....Staff is always friendly and they do an excellent job most of the time.
