Super Clean with Great Food and Service. Exploring the Yadkin Valley yesterday and stopped in for a late lunch at the Boonville Family Restaurant. Glad I did because it was one of most relaxing lunches I have had in a long time. Walked and walked up to the front counter. Only one other customer but again it was 3 pm in the afternoon. Lady at the counter proceeded to seat me and from that point on, it reminded me of coming home from college and the fuss my mother would throw. That continued even after I was married and when my kid were born, extended to them as well. New York City will know it as the Jewish Mother Syndrome but it is the ultimate comfort experiece. Promptly seated with menu in hand, I had ample time to review the menu. Been awhile since I have had good Chopped BBQ so I ordered the BBQ Plate with Fries and 1/2 and 1/2 tea which was still too sweet. While I waited for my lunch, I looked over the restaurant and it is super clean. All the Stainless Steel is polished to a shine, tables are wiped down with sanitizing solutions even if not in use. I run a plant that is FDA Registered for Food with multiple Certifications and this place is phenomenal, Lunch came out and it was quite good. I had looked before so I could tell that the BBQ was not prepared on site because of the lack of smokers but were ever they get it, it's pretty good. Not the best I have had but still very good. Fries were great. Put everything together and a nice hidden gem if you are exploring the Yadkin Valley. I I normally give a recommendation to those traveling the I-77 corridor as to try on not. Great food but 9 miles from I-77 so it's your choice.

The hardest part was choosing a drink from the aptly named, southern inspired menu. Should I have the Hell in a Handbasket, Mama's Switch, or a That'll do Pig? You can't go wrong. Sized were much larger than expected and priced far below similar type restaurants we have patronized in larger towns. For dinner, I had the filet, medium rare, and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked. That shouldn't make a restaurant stand out, but based on recent experiences, it was a delight. Dessert was a hot bread pudding accompanied by vanilla ice cream. Superb. Stop by this gem of a place if you are in the area. Lots of cute shops nearby, too.

There were a ton of people at this restaurant - the parking lot was massive and we STILL had to park in the grass!! And people have good taste! Like what I said, the food was great! The restaurant is also large. We had to wait about 25 minutes, but that wasn't too bad. We got seated and service was a little slow, but that was ok because of the 'rush hour traffic' going on at the restaurant. Once our server did get to us, she was great! We got the bloomin' onion as an appetizer. YES, they have a bloomin' onion. We love those things, and had to get one. Theirs is pretty good! The sauce is pretty close to Outbacks, and is not too greasy. I was surprised at how tender their Filet Mignon was. It was great! The sweet potato casserole is like a dessert (so good)!! And Mac and cheese is pretty ok as well. They gave us a ticket at the end of our meal for free ice cream for all 6 of us!! (Of course we had to use it since it's free). They have a shop to the left tucked away from the restaurant, with ice cream, shirts, a parrot, and many old timey merchandise! The blueberry cheesecake ice cream had good flavor, and had good texture! Not too icy. If you're in the area, come dine at Cody Creek! You will enjoy your experience.

With a large selection of indoor outdoor seating, this is a great place for a group to go after an event. It's exactly what you would expect in a small town, with relatively basic decor and attached to a gas station. You order at the counter, they give you a number placard, and food is delivered to your table. In all of my visits, the service is fast and orders are accurate. All of the food I have ever had has been delicious, from good crispy tater tots, savory onion rings, wraps burgers and hotdogs, and more. The prices are a little bit on the expensive side for a small town diner, but there's not exactly a lot of choices in the area is there? I know I'm not telling anyone in the area something they don't already know, but maybe this review will bring some of the out-of-town parents traveling through the area for a child's ball game to consider stopping in for a bite to eat. It's worth a visit!

I was on the way home from the mountain house, wanted to try a new spot, so thought I would look to yelp for suggestions. Based on great reviews, many great reviews, we decided to try. First, we were told the biscuits are not made from scratch. are not made from scratch. We immediately knew this was not goi g to be our go to spot in the future. Now, the reason I am leaving a review is, not everyone has to have a scratch made biscuits; and the canned biscuit they did serve tasted fine. We were there for breakfast so we decided to stay. My wife got a chicken biscuit and the chicken was a pre-patty out of a bag chicken piece. Again, tasted fine, but we thought, Dern, we can do this ourselves at home. I want to make sure this review is read correctly, the food tasted fine, the people were great, and the place was busy, so if you just want to satisfy a hunger, please stop. However, if you are looking for a great diner with scratch made food, don't let the yelp rating fool you like it did me, this is not your spot.

Not many dining choices in this area. Ample parking and a large dining area with tables efficiently serviced so that they turn over quickly. Our wait for a table was only 10-minutes, following a group of 18! The service was the star of the experience. Very efficient, helpful, attentive servers. Shout out to Suzanna. The large staff worked well together and seemed to make everyone feel comfortable. The ambience is southern, hometown casual. You feel like you are visiting your large family from start to finish. Nothing pretentious. Clean enough. Comfortable. Pricing....in this time of food inflation, this restaurant still offers amazing prices. My husband and I had two large dinner entrees with water and our bill came to just under $24.00. Our portions were generous as evidence in the photo. Our waitress recommended the grilled pork chops which were hot, juicy and seasoned just right. They came with two veggie sides from a long list of choices. I chose collard greens and Mac and cheese. These items were just average and only luke warm as was the biscuit (from a choice of about 5 bread options). Had the sides been hot and a little more flavorful, I would have given 5 stars. For vegetarians and all-day breakfast eaters, Cooper Pot is your place; so much to choose from on their menu. Vegans might struggle as most southern cooking includes dairy and it looks as if they cook their sides in large quantities and keep them in a warmer to serve. The ability to respond quickly to large numbers of travelers and locals, with solid, well-priced, filling meals is the gift of the Copper Pot. We will return when traveling their way.

We were traveling through Elkin and while The Yellow Door Cafe had almost no presence on Yelp we did see many positive reviews in Google and decided this was a great opportunity to add to the Yelp community. We arrived close to noon and were greeted immediately upon walking in. The building appears to be a converted home and is cozy and well kept. We noticed almost immediately there was a connection to Angry Troll Brewing which is another local business in Elkin that we are fans of. The signage for Yellow Door also states they are affiliated with Liberty Catering. We were placed at a small table and provided menus along with a short menu with featured their daily specials. Our server was friendly and helpful in telling us more about their business and making recommendations. My wife decided on the chef salad while I chose the chicken cordon bleu sandwich with fries. Our food arrived a short time later and looked delicious. In addition, the place started to really fill up. There were several tables seated while we enjoyed our meal. My wife really enjoyed her salad but it could have been bigger, she would have loved the option of ordering a larger size for more money. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. I thought the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich was also delicious. The fried chicken was very crunchy. I got the garlic aioli on the side but thought it was yummy and kept dipping my sandwich in it. My wife noted the restroom was clean and well appointed as well. The prices were reasonable and we really enjoyed our meals. TYD serves brunch and a great selection of sandwiches at reasonable prices. Our party of four for lunch today started with their Pimento Cheese appetizer (available hot or cold). The Reuben had a healthy serving of corned beef, just the right amount of kraut, and a creamy, Swiss cheese, and sweet Thousand Islands. Rue Bread was grilled just right. The BLT on toasted Sourdough bread was piled high with bacon, fresh tomatoes, and crispy lettuce. With mayo. Bacon was a thick slice, cooked perfectly. The French Dip on Ciabatta bread. Thinly sliced roast beef, with caramelized onions.and Swiss cheese was very good. The dip was ok. Could have a little more kick. Muffuletta sandwich (turkey, ham, olive tapenade, Swiss cheese, and a goat cheese spread) was delicious. They offer fries, sweet potato fries, potato salad, and a pasta salad as sides. Fries were crispy and tasty. Sandwiches are offered on breads appropriate for each sandwich, but you are free to choose other breads. TYD also offers a burger, chicken, chicken salad, and egg salad sandwich. There is a small bar menu and local craft beer available. We highly recommend the Yellow Door Cafe.
