I just moved to Houston and was so excited to start Pilates again. A friend suggested Boost and I have LOVED the classes. My first class kicked my butt, and the teachers are so good. I took a class today with Martha at West U and she was awesome. Loved her personality and when my thigh muscles were spent I asked for something else to do and she kindly helped me and kept count for how long I held the plank while everyone else did the lunges that my muscles just couldn't do. It was also great because it was legs focused but she worked our abs and arms SO well to warm us up. I had a question for the owner and the number was easily accessible and they responded quickly and were very helpful with my question. A+ customer service. In my opinion, their Pilates classes are for everyone. I wouldn't hesitate to invite a beginner or an individual with an advance practice. It's an incredibly satisfying workout. Got to try this studio on ClassPass & loved it! It's on the second floor and stairs only. Grippy socks are optional. Leanne was my instructor and she was very encouraging. Very challenging workout and fast paced - I was immediately sore after class. Music was energetic! There are many reformers - could fit 20-30 people but there were only 10 in class. I love Boost! I was new to pilates and on my very first day I was 2 minutes late because of lack of parking. The instructor let me know I couldn't stay and to contact Boost; I did and they offered me 2 free classes for my trouble! How sweet of them But about the actual classes, I have been to the River Oaks and the West U location and both places are super clean with ample space between machines. The instructors are great and when I tell you the burn is real If you are looking for a new work out routine aside from lifting, I would highly recommend you give them a try. read more

Oh mah gawd, Pilates is sooo haaaard. Thank you ClassPass. When I thought I was working my core muscles before, I realized I wasn't working them at all. Our instructor, Nicole, really challenged all my muscles from my arms to my legs to my abs. When she saw that I didn't squat low enough, she would yell out LOWER. Now, that's tough love, folks. I appreciated that she also modified some of my exercises, since I couldn't perform some of them at their fullest potential compared to the expert veterans in the the class. I hope to build up my core strength to be able to do the exercises without any modifications. The studio itself is small, but modern and clean. There are changing stations, bathrooms, and water. Parking is sufficient, since you can fill up each class only by so much. This studio is located on the second level of the building complex it's in. Just look for the Boost sign. Alls I gots to say is I will definitely be back. I will try to work on strengthening myself so that I'll be better the next time around. Pilates is definitely a workout. This place is my absolute favorite place for a good workout! I had my first ever Pilates class with boost Pilates and LOVED IT! I am a gym person and so I didn't think I would struggle doing Pilates but lol pilates got the best of me.. My entire body was sore for the next 2 days! The studio is really neat and clean and my instructor, Rachel was super helpful and attentive to me as it was my first time and I didn't know much about the right postures and how to push the reformer, etc. Recommended to all the first-timers and Pilates lovers out there! :) read more

Boost Pilates is hands down THE best studio I've been to in Houston! The place is clean and simple, has all the equipment you need, filtered water fountain and a place to put your stuff. All the instructors are great.. I've never had a bad class! It's challenging but not impossible. The instructors walk around the class regularly to make sure everyone is doing the correct exercise (this alone puts this studio ahead of its competitors!). One of the biggest attractions to this place is that the class sizes are small. The limited number of reformers allows for a more personal experience. They also have classes almost every hour so you're sure to be able to get your workout in. Check-in is super easy - sign up online, find your name on the iPad and check-in on your own. I have never had a bad class at Boost Pilates no matter the instructor! I am consistently challenged each time I go. I am a particular fan of Nancy and Devon's classes. Boy, can they get you! Nancy is incredible at using the reformer and finding creative ways to use it and get a killer workout! Devon's high energy will motivate you to get that extra rep. I was also able to do Boost classes for my entire pregnancy. I did both the pre natal classes and regular classes literally up to the day I delivered. The studios are always clean and inviting. Would highly recommend trying them and if you're a beginner, let the instructor know prior to starting. read more

This is a new Pilates studio with great potential. They had convenient online scheduling. The studio is beautiful and it has changing rooms. I like that they were laid back and they had online scheduling. Pilates socks were not required as far as I could tell. I found the classes to be challenging but easy enough for a beginner. I LOVE BOOST! I've been to this location about 4 times now. Prior to this, I had been going to defy pilates, and when I first walked into boost my initial thought was that the studio looked a little less nice. I still love the studio at Defy because there's always so much bright sunlight with the open window. BUT I only come to Boost now because of the quality of instruction. I CAN TELL that the instructors at boost really try to plan out the details of every workout to vary the routine every week, and they show you what the moves look like before they tell you to do it. I thought it would be like this at every pilates place, but the other 2 studios I've been with class pass did not have instructors who demonstrated the poses, surprisingly... I always go to Rachel's Wednesday classes because her classes get me sore for the next two days for sure. I love her playlists and how she really tries to help everyone do the exercises in correct posture every time. Boost is definitely my favorite pilates studio as of now! read more

Boost is one of my favorite pilates studios to go to on classpass. All of my classes have been with Devon and I LOVE her! Her classes are challenging, and she sometimes has moves that I've never used in other studios. She's always so full of energy to keep you motivated throughout class. She is also very attentive to your form and never fails to have a badass playlist. The studio itself is very clean and there's always parking. Boost Pilates is seriously the best Pilates studio I've been to here in Houston! I had never tried Pilates before coming to boost and I've been hooked ever since! All of the instructors are knowledgeable and have great energy. They walk around regularly during the class to check your form and every class is challenging-but very doable. Each instructor also offers different skills levels based on your experience so beginner, intermediate, advanced options for almost every move during the class so you can really challenge yourself. I had a blast taking Nathan's class. It was very challenging but he also kept it fun. I love how he made easy adjustments via change of spring loads for everyone to enable them to get the most out of his class. I can sometimes get lazy and take the easy way out when I'm taking a group workout class but he made sure to challenge me yet also let me know I could take it easy if that's what made me feel most comfortable. Oh my god! Devon was so great! She had sooo much energy for our Saturday 8 AM class! She was loud and clear with her instructions and transitions! Her playlist had energy and went well to help us keep rhythm. It's a small location but can be great so instructors have no choice but to move in between the machines. She's very hands on and greeted me immediately upon entering and asked if it was my first time on a reformer (it wasn't). I've had several different instructors over the last few months and she's by far the most energetic! Love her! I hope I can take another class with her soon!!! This location is closest to my job since I work in Bellaire but live in the Heights. I wish I could use a membership for here and river oaks as that one is closer to home. However, if Devon fits in my schedule every week this is my go to! Such a great way to start the day! read more

Hands down the best workout you will get. I've been going to boost for two months and every time I go it's a different challenge. I've taken classes with Rachel and Robin and both of them are great! Rachel is a cheerful and inspiring instructor who will give you the guidance you need as a beginner. Robin was great in helping me open up my hip flexors and what practices I could do to continue opening them up. Really disappointed with my experience at Boost. I used to work out a lot, but after 3 years of letting fitness fall by the wayside I was excited to get my muscles back and try my best. I took an "all levels" class because that's all they offer outside of pre/post-natal. The class was not beginner-friendly. The instructor was not beginner-friendly. I felt that a lot of her feedback was inconsiderate and sometimes veered into rude. At one point I was trying my hardest to pull my legs in and they just wouldn't. Muscle fatigue. She declared loudly, "You look like a tadpole with your legs flailing everywhere." Seriously? I already know I'm having a hard time, you don't need to insult me for it. Just help like a teacher should. I have more examples of inconsiderate feedback that I could rant on about but won't for brevity. I am experienced with exercise classes and tough love instructors who push you because they want the best for you. She ain't it. Just inconsiderate. Maybe this is a great place to go if you're already a Pilates expert, but it's not the place for someone who wants to grow and improve in a welcoming and inclusive environment. I still can't believe I was compared to a frog. read more

Boost Pilates West U - Love all the locations. This one is more chill and smaller than the others. Just a single all levels class format with moves getting progressively harder/more challenging. There is not as many classes as the other locations but you can still go to the other ones with your class packs. Try this place out. Its not classical, more fun and fast paced. read more
