After returning from a lovely wellness retreat, my husband's and my eyes were opened up to the magical wonders of Pilates and its benefits. We wanted to continue this once we returned to Houston, but we didn't want to find a studio with 30+ students and the Pilates classes at our current gym didn't give us any feedback on whether we were doing the positions/moves correctly. We turned to yelp for help :) We were looking for the following in a studio to supplement our gym membership: 1) small classes 2) personal attention 3) encouraging and attentive teachers This studio has all 3 of these things, but it's not limited to Pilates! They have yoga and cycling classes that meet the above three requirements too! We've only been members since October, but we look forward to our weekly classes. What's really nice is the class feels tailored to us. My husband and I have different bodies (height, strength, flexibility, etc), and the teachers really adapt to us! They'll change certain routines to ensure each student is getting the most of the session. It's a great personalized experience, and your body will thank you. Get out and STRETCH! The grand opening celebration was a big success. This new Montrose-area workout facility offers yoga, cycling, pilates, private and group workout sessions. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to help everyone regardless of experience level. During today's opening, I personally enjoyed watching the demonstration sessions held for current and future clients. I am new to both yoga and pilates and watching these folks was inspirational. The facility itself is posh yet comfy. It's decorated in hues of gray with touches of silver and black. There are very nice male and female restrooms and a big parking lot out back. The luxurious Stretch studio space is something to be seen. The decor is all extremely clean and brightly lit. The equipment is all well made from the bikes down to the hand towels. The instructors and the other clients are all so nice and friendly! The soreness I got from Pilates with Lexi surprised me! Her workout was enjoyable but tough enough to get sore the next day. She is attentive and her descriptions for how to position my body were clear. I felt like I maintained good form throughout the session. Yoga with Kobra was relaxing and focused a lot on gently loosening all parts of the body. After two sessions the tension in my back was noticeably reduced. She also taught many poses I'd never done before like a chest opening stretch. I attended their New Year's Eve yoga+cycle session with lots of experience in yoga but little in cycling. I had heard great things about Nune and they were all true! He is a knowledgeable instructor with lots of energy. He is very supportive and pushes you with his positivity. The cycle room is so fun because the lights are turned low with colorful accent lighting and the music amps you up. read more

I feel so fortunate to have found Krista and Kobra. I am a physical therapist who has practiced for 45 years. I have taught many therapists over the years and mentored therapists wanting to learn my techniques. I am very selective as to whom I let work on me. When I first went to STRETCH, I told Krista I was out of shape and weak. The truth was that I had been in a bad accident 4 years ago and still needed a cane to walk. I had multiple fractures and hardware in my body. In my first session, Krista was able to recognize the malalignment of my body and imbalances. I was very impressed with her knowledge and teaching technique. I have done Pilates in the past at different studios and have had plenty of physical therapy. I feel that I am very qualified to attest to Krista and Kobra's knowledge of the body and excellent teaching abilities. They have a true commitment to providing excellent care to each client. Their studio is spotless and their equipment is state of the art. I have even converted my son, who is an ER doctor, and loves the gym to become a Pilates lover. I wish that I had access to Krista and Kobra when I was actively treating patients. I finally found it - the perfect stretch in Houston. I had been looking for a really good full-body stretch class. Tried restorative yoga at two or three yoga studios, tried one of those storefront stretch places. Nothing was quite right. Then I found Stretch. I am so thrilled. At first I was concerned about the drive. I live in West Houston. But I avoid scheduling classes during rush hour traffic, and the drive is really no big deal. It takes me no more than 15 minutes to get there, and it is worth every minute. If you are looking for a really great and relaxing stretch class, this is it. Kobra gently guides you through a series (always a different series) of deep stretches. And while many are technically yoga poses (frog, pidgeon and cobra, to name a few) -- and the class is called a Yoga class -- it's not so much about posing as it is about getting a really good stretch. Classes are kept very small, the atmosphere is beautiful, and Kobra (and her sister, Krista, who co-own the studio) are extremely welcoming and nurturing. I have taken five stretch classes there now and have noticed that my lower back, which is chronically stiff, is looser. I feel better. The studio also features pilates and indoor cycling, in clean, well-equipped rooms, both of which I intend to try. If you are looking for a new gym home, read the other reviews and try Stretch. There's a new client special - one of each of the three classes (yoga, pilates and cycling) for $45. That's a steal. read more

I love this place! The owners/sister duo Krista and Kobra are fantastic teachers with different styles but both very attentive to the needs of students. The space is beautiful and serene, entering it brings you to a state of calmness. When I went to my first session I was suffering from lower back issues and after 2-3 weeks that was gone and I felt myself getting stronger. The classes themselves are for all levels both Krista and Kobra offer modifications for a more challenging or easier experience. I have been going to Stretch since they first opened and I feel like its a special treat to take classes there as opposed to other gyms. It is clean and serene from the moment you walk in. The attention to detail in the classes and instruction is so helpful. I have belonged to many gyms through the years and this one is by far head and shoulders above the rest. Had a great yoga class today! Before I came here I wasn't a huge yoga person but they were very accommodating and Kobra was very attentive. Now I've got to get my yoga fix weekly! Stretch is fantastic! The studio is gorgeous and Kobra and Krista are the best! I would describe it as a boutique gym where you have small class sizes and personalized attention!
