A beautiful place to stay when visiting Boothbay, ME. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. It is really nice that they allow dogs at their Inn. The view is what this place is all about. It was so pleasant sitting outside on the balcony facing the bay. It was good to find a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The continental breakfast was descent. The rooms were rather small and the place is a bit outdated. but the hospitality and location make up for that. read more

We reserved a large block of rooms for our son's Memorial Day wedding and it couldn't have been a better choice! Cindy was so helpful, getting welcome bags into all the rooms and helping us plan the rehearsal dinner which was held in the hotel's lovely dining room overlooking the harbor. Everything went perfectly and we heard lots of compliments from wedding guests who enjoyed their stay. There is really not a better location from which out of town guests can enjoy the harbor. What a pleasant surprise. Rooms are clean, not necessarily modern, but fine. Allows my dog. Great views with a nice fire for evenings. Quick walk across the bridge for gourmet coffee drinks. All this for almost half the price of neighboring options. Would definitely recommend and return. read more

Outdated hotel with room in need of upkeep/maintenance. Bathroom ceiling tile had water damage (simple fix), but obviously management doesn't care enough. Hall carpet is worn and dirty. The view is the only star booster. read more

Pleased with this find in a beautiful area of Maine. Easy walk over a new bridge to shops and restaurants. Boat ride around the island close by or for whale watching. Some rooms have balconies or area to sit outside. Main lodge room is as large. AC a bit noisy. OJ and coffee in the AM that stops right at 10 am. Not the newest of properties but considering it was very nice. read more

Booked Room in July for October 12 -14, 2024. October 8 I got an announcement that Jet Blue cancelled my flight due to Hurricane Milton ( I was flying from Orlando, Florida) and the airport would be closed. I notified the Inn via Expedia immediately & the Inn's General Manager charged me a $25.00 cancellation fee. For an ACT OF GOD ?????????? We will still visit Boothbay Harbor but will not be staying with these jerks. read more

We did a wades tour that stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Building & rooms were kinda old, BUT the location right by the footbridge & the dinners each night were AMAZING!!!! Warm, huge chocolate chip cookies waiting for us when we arrived, bags taken to your room by the staff. We didn't get this, but other tour members got a room facing the bay w Adirondack chairs. This more of a review for their customer service and cancellation policy than for their facility. On June 22nd, I made the reservation for my husband and I to stay there on October 2 and 3. This was part of a 10 day trip to Maine that we had been eagerly anticipating. But just days ago, we learned my husband urgently requires major surgery and we had to cancel the entire trip. I was able to get full refunds from almost everyone when I called them right after I learned we had to cancel. The young woman at Harbor Inn was very nice and took my cancellation information and immediately issued credit. However, I didn't learn until the credit hit my charge account that the credit was for $25.00 less than the room charge. And when I called today to request the $25.00 difference, I was told - in a very chipper voice - "Oh yes, we charge $25 for ANY cancellations - unless it's 3 days prior to the check in date, and then there is no refund at all." This was not mentioned to me when I made the reservation nor when I cancelled. It's really not about the money per se, it's about charging for something that was never provided. We'll be going on our trip probably next year - but we won't be contacting the Boothbay Harbor Inn or make any reservations at that facility. read more

This hotel is very dated but you can't beat the location. The AC in our room was not working when we arrived, it was 82 degrees at 3:30 in the afternoon in the room. We made the front desk aware and it was fixed while we were at dinner. The room was clean. read more

Impeccably clean hotel. It is not fancy, but it is really clean. I have to commend the lady I said good morning to who is in charge of the cleaning the rooms. The views are pretty but note that it is on the other side of the harbor, so you see the main drag. However, the hotel is right next to the old famous footbridge, just a short walk to everything. The rooms are very reasonably priced and the people who worked there were very polite. Skip the free continental breakfast. Seemed a bit day old plus no protein that you usually see at these types of meals (e.g. boiled eggs, yogurt, peanut butter, etc.) read more

The location is awesome. This is our second time in Boothbay for the Harbor Fest and last year we said we'd stay here for the location. You're right next to the walking bridge that brings you to all the restaurants and shops and there's no reason to drive anywhere (the Lobster Dock is a short walk down the street and really good too). During Harbor Fest there's also lots of live music next door and at the Inn (but only until 10, don't worry) which makes it convenient to have cocktails and walk back. Also in my opinion this has the best outdoor area where you can sit and have cocktails in Adirondack chairs overlooking the water with a fire pit outside. In terms of rooms, it's motel-like but that's pretty common for Boothbay and since I don't spend much time in the room I'd definitely stay here again for the location. Plus there's a microwave and fridge and free breakfast. Sweet! read more

Beautiful view and amazing food. Would not recommend for a wedding reception. We were told at 8pm to turn the music down for our daughters wedding reception. They booked rooms directly above the reception area. Imagine if we had booked a band! Great for rehearsal dinner or a quiet personal wedding dinner. We only had 50 guests all of whom were family. The outdoor heaters were never turned on and by 9 they were breaking down tables around us. We were told to "shut it down" like we were a frat party . They were more worried about getting the space ready for breakfast in the am. Incredibly disappointing. Again, would not book for a wedding reception. read more

Overall - 2.5 stars. We made this reservation at the last minute in July. We needed to rooms at a pet-friendly place on the coast and Boothbay Harbor Inn was able to accommodate us. Overall the experience was fine. The rooms are outdated but functional (have a/c, hair dryers, TV, Keurig, microwave, mini fridge). Most of our issues were with the cleaning service -- when we arrived at 5pm our room was "ready" but not cleaned completely. Pillows were missing pillow cases and old towels were hung up on the bathroom door. We called reception and they were apologetic and sent someone to clean while we were out at dinner... but when we returned the dirty towels were still on the hook and we found an old, chewed pet toy from a previous visitor. We stayed two nights and our room was never cleaned. No new towels, no new K-cups, no additional water glasses, etc. Maybe I needed to call again? Location was great as it's walking distance to everything in Boothbay Harbor and offers parking. Breakfast is nothing special but is included. read more

The quality of your stay is completely dependent on the view, with the over-the-restaurant harbor views being much better than most of the other views, especially those of the parking lot on the side. Also, it is important to know that the "Deluxe Ocean View" rooms offered by Expedia and Hotels.com are only mediocre views of the inner harbor. The hotel is located across from the town but very close to a wooden walkway over the harbor, which takes you right into town. read more

I never give 5 stars but I am to Booth Bay Harbor Inn. If you want a retro, New England feel this is the place to stay. Right on the water with a walk over bridge to town. Very pretty scenary on the walk. Beds were soft but comfortable, rooms were extremely clean. There is a lounge that is open from 5 - 8 serving drinks and some food. Drinks were very good, service was excellent. We sat and watched the fog roll in, then after a walk to town for dinner we sat around the elevated fire bowl and spoke with other guests. Upon waking, a buffet breakfast is served from 7:30 to 9:30 am, and is excellent. Food is hot and cold, plentiful and delicious. Coffee was excellent...!!!! There is someone at the desk until 9pm and they are right on top of everything if you need anything. I would definitely stay here again...!!! read more

This place is all about location. A quick five minute walk across the footbridge to the main village area plus stunning views of the village from your room are the high points. After that it's all pretty mediocre. Unlike other writers, our room was clean and ready for us even though we checked in two hours earlier than scheduled. The place is dated, but comfortable. The pricing is good and you get what you pay for. We've stayed here a couple times now and have had pleasant stays. It's a good, convenient and comfortable place to stay if you don't let your expectations get away from you. read more

Masquerading as an inn, this is much more of a motel than an inn. The redeeming qualities were that they have tried to make it more acceptable.. A relatively new refrigerator, microwave, and Kerrigan were in the room. And the view was fantastic. It is also very close to the footbridge which takes you to the better side of the harbor. The negatives? Well start with the Boothbay Harbor in being a preferred location for bikers. They started their bikes at 8:30 and from 8:30 until 9am it was just a cacophony of noise. Mufflers anyone? The threadbare carpet was also charming. No elevator, so be prepared to drag your suitcase up to the second floor. All this for $185 a night. Seems a little steep to me. Oh, and the closet? More of a bar running across the wall than anything else. I'll stay elsewhere next time. read more

My wife and I stayed here one night this week. Our first time. This hotel is your basic old nostalgic inn. Everything is clean and in great shape. Just not 21 century, which I kind of liked. Everyone was super nice. We had a water side room on second floor just above the breakfast/ bar area. Beautiful view of Boothbay Harbor and the business area across the water. The foot bridge connecting to downtown is right off the property and easy access. I loved not being in the business area but having very easy access. Park your car at the hotel and really never touch it until you leave. Full hot breakfast was included and it was good. The best part was the perfect view of sunset over the harbor. Water view faces west. Everyone was out on their decks. Nice chairs to relax outside. The one thing that would make it a 5 would be having a restaurant. You'll need to hike across and walk down street to have dinner. But there are many choices. So maybe a 4.5. read more

We were snickered at because we couldn't find their lot when we arrived! Trust me, with the hotels crammed in together, it's confusing! 2. We asked for help in getting the Agritourism map! Kudos you're hiring young people from another country! NOW PLEASE TRAIN THEM AND PAY THEM FAIR WAGES! SHAME ON YOU! 3. YOU NEVER REPLACED YOUR COSMETICS FOR A TWO DAY STAY. When I asked if they would send someone up with a shampoo because I wasn't clothed, They FLATLY SAID NO. Not even I'm sorry, we are short staffed! 4. THE CLENCHER : I was waiting for" another We don't give a crap about you incident lol!!!" I ASKED FOR A GARBAGE BAG AT 630am Did I tell you they don't even supply u with a laundry bag? At 630am, I got the third degree! I told the woman I had a choice to put the trash in the room on the floor if she preferred! The service here has really gone downhill the last few years. Had dinner here the other night and they did not even have 2 of the items on the regular menu not to mention the sauce that should've gone on one of the signature steaks, there were no specials either. This was very odd considering the place was more than half empty. I had the New England Clam Chowder, it was bland and had no flavor. My wife and I both had the Coffee Crusted Tenderloins. It was cooked well but the flavor was weird since the mole sauce was missing. Our server must have been new because she seemed very unsure about...everything. About the only saving grace was Kevin the piano player, he played a great selection of songs and was the perfect volume for the room. read more

Their restraunt was HORRIBLE! Don't go here for dinner. The citrus cooler drink (which was supposed to include vodka, club soda, lime juice, lemon juice, and orange juice) only had pink lemonade. They even forgot the vodka!! I paid 8 dollars for pink lemonade. Bartender clearly didn't know what he was doing. The meals were terrible. I ordered the Mango Cesar Salad. 10 minutes after we order our waitress informs me that they ran out of Cesar dressing and romaine lettuce. I asked her if I could swap out romaine lettuce for a spring mix and that I'd take ranch dressing instead. She was obviously very confused and needed to get more clarification from the chef on what exactly was out and what she was trying to talk about. It was chaos. I ended up being served a crap load of romaine lettuce with croutons, dry chicken, and some cheese on the side. Not what I ordered at all. There was no communication happeneing. Luckily she was able to take the salad off the bill, too bad she couldn't have added my $8 pink lemonade to that too... read more

My room in the main building was decent. My brother and his wife were in the second building facing the water and their screen door was completely ripped and flapping in the wind. They had no toiletries in their room and had to call to ask for them. What really showed me where they are "coming from" is how they handled (or didn't handle) the toiletry case I left behind. I checked out on Sunday 7/8. On Monday morning I called at about 8am when I realized I had left it there. The woman said she would look for it and call me back. I called again at 2pm because I had not heard from anyone. I spoke to a different woman who said she would go look in the room and call me back. She did call me back eight minutes later and said she found it. She told me I would need to give her my credit card to pay for the shipping to return it to me which I did. On Thursday afternoon when I still had not received it in the mail I called and spoke to yet a different woman. She said " oh I see it here is it the blue one?" I said yes and I asked why it had still not been sent back to me. She's very unapologetically said " I don't know, it's going out tomorrow." I told her that I was very unhappy that they had pretty much sat on it for four days and it wasn't really doing me any good three hours away. As someone who worked at the executive level at a four-star hotel for 10 years, I also told her that it wasn't a very good representation of hospitality. The toiletry case showed up the following Monday and they charged my credit card $13.65. They sent it two day priority because they sat on it! A decent operation would have sent it on their own dime because it was sent late. I had no problem paying to have it returned, I do have a problem being billed that much when they sat on it for days. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this to establishment, there are better choices read more
