This park is humongous and slightly tucked in to a residential part of Foster City, but there's like no one here, and I've played Pokemon Go so I know. According to the fact sheet, this area is 11.2 acres. There's just large amounts of lawn where you can have an isolated picnic, and it's a fairly long stroll for a neighborhood park. It's cool that it runs next to a mini creek, closer to the residential houses. For sports, there are areas for sand volleyball, basketball, tennis (four courts), soccer, and baseball (which looked well maintained, with bleachers). There's a large playground with tanbark and picnic tables. There is an additional covered pavilion (technically you need to contact a city official to reserve this) with picnic tables and small coal barbecue pits, though they looked pretty rusty and dirty. Next to these tables is this amphitheater-like section. Parking is somewhat in a small lot, but there's street parking all over the perimeter that's readily available. The bathroom size is above average, for a neighborhood park. The main park in Foster City is superior, but this park is not bad if you want more seclusion, in some sense. It's right next to a highly trafficked road, but expansive enough to accommodate many parties without bumping into each other. read more

Now that I have a child (13 months), I find myself on Yelp looking for--parks. I do check out the Parks and Rec websites from various cities, but sometimes I just want a quick look at the parks closest to me with some pictures of the facilities. Boothbay has separate play structures for younger kids and older kids. The structures sit amongst tanbark much too my kid's delight (he's obsessed with holding, throwing, and...uh, attempting to eat tanbark). I was pleased to see a volleyball net, tennis courts (4), BBQ pits, and ample space. What an awesome park! I did take pictures, but they all have my son in them! When I go back this week, I will take some more photos and add them to my review. read more

This is a nice neighborhood park , surrounded by houses, with lots of well kept lawns and willow trees, There is also a baseball diamond and old school but decent restrooms, The park is clean and well maintained, You can see the mountains to the west and there is a large canopy area with picnic tables- great for a barbecue, The playground is nice and there is lots of other space for recreation as well. One of many neighborhood parks, Boothbay Park is popular with families for soccer games and birthday parties on the weekends as well as dog walkers and moms with strollers. There are playgrounds and picnic area w/BBQ (often reserved for BDay parties). Boothbay Park is named for the street and quiet neighborhood area surrounding the park. My little four paws likes walking around here when we have time for a long leisurely walk. During our first Boothbay visit this weekend, my 3 and 5 year olds were blown away by the cool playground structure complete with climbing wall, plastic rock face and slides of varying speed. If we lived a little nearer by, we'd be here all the time. The covered picnic area also served as a great base camp for the birthday party we attended -- convenient to the parking lots, relatively close to both fields and playgrounds, and yet off-street enough to ease your parental concerns about little ones running off. Cool little park in the neighborhood my wife grew up in. The grass area is quite big, but rarely see anyone use it off the path. Kids area is nice, but that wood chips flooring can kill you wearing flip flops or if your little one takes a stumble. Nice little parking lot too. Play structures are better than average, but it needs a rubber flooring upgrade and some shaded areas would add a nice touch too. read more

A foster city park. Need I say more? Yeah, I probably should. But my first sentence should say it all! If you don't live in this area or don't know foster city, it's known for being the "stereotypical" suburban area, which means that this park is a nice park. There is a wide open field where everyone can use, things such as soccer, football, whatever, it's huge. Then there is the baseball field here and it's usually used by some local teams, but if it's not currently being occupied then I think you can be able to use it whenever you want. They have a basketball court that is often being used.... Tennis courts for people to use! You name it they got it! I don't know what else I can say about this place, other than it's your stereotypical foster city park! Is that a good thing? Yes! read more

Great park with two play structures and a sandbox that is also a volleyball area. The bathrooms are there but not close to playground, so I didn't see them. I think Boothbay is the nicest park in Foster City. It has a new children's playground, baseball field, basketball court, multiple tennis courts, and beach volleyball area (sand is a bit rough, though). Boothbay has a nice covered picnic area, as well as picnic tables in the surrounding areas with a few barbecue grills, too. Also, the restrooms are nicer than those at other public parks- real toilets, not portable ones. At 7 AM a group of dog walkers walks around the park's trail, off-leash. If I had a dog, I would totally join them because they all seem so nice. I joined them once, with my auntie and her rottweiler. :) A little later, around 8 or 9AM, you can find a handful of older Chinese men and women exercising. They practice non-martial Tai Chi, I think. read more

This is a pretty nice park; come here before 8am or 9am and you can have your dogs run off-leash. They can also run off-leash after hours too. The walkway is clean, trim, and you won't dirty your feet while your dogs run on the grass. Perfect. The playground equipment is fairly new and well structured. Nice, clean, friendly, family park that is directly across the street from my in law's place. Can't complain! Great for BBQs, running around the park's path, and even playing sports. Foster City, in general is a nice city to live in so of course their parks would be nice and clean as well. I love hanging out in the gazebo area every time we have a BBQ here. There is also a park structure where the lil kiddies can play on. There is a sand volley ball court, basketball court, and even a field where you can play softball. Yes, a great park. However, there are a number of steps near the playscape that claim injury to children on a weekly basis. On the weekends there are many events with soccer teams (practice, games) as well as regular players of cricket on the large expanse of grass right off Boothbay Drive. This park is great. They have everything from baseball fields, large grass area, picnic tables/grills, two playgrounds, volleyball sand court, walk paths, basketball courts, and tennis courts. Although, the basketball hoops can use a little remodeling. The weather is usually nice in Foster City so it makes this park even more enjoyable. It is definitely one of the better parks within Foster City. You can make reservations to rent out the picnic areas and barbecues for parties and get-togethers. There is plenty of parking on the streets if the lot is crowded. It usually isn't too crowded on most days. read more

My children refer to this park as "The Castle Park". It has two awesome, age appropriate playground fixtures for younger and older kids. There is plenty to climb, crawl through and slide down. There are also numerous benches for parents to sit. Like the others before have mentioned, there are tennis courts, a basketball court and soccer fields. The bathroom has always been clean when I have gone there. The covered area for picnics is very large and very busy on sunny days and weekends. i live close to the this park and pretty much grew up here. theres a lot of memories held here. i played some of my baseball games here and had a lot of practices here. also had some soccer practices here as well. the grass is very green and it has a huge open land. i learned how to ride a bike at this park. also has some good tennis courts that are fun to play during a nice day as well as one full basketball court and a sand volleyball court which is very hard and not forgiving. the jungle gym is decent. not the biggest out there but sufficient. i broke my arm on the monkey bars when i was younger. theres a picnic area with a covering for the rain and some bbq pits. i walk my dog here everyday. she loves sniffing the grass and playing in the open field. you can let your dogs off leash in the morning from 5-8am. however, some owners let them off leash at other times too. just keep your dogs under control! but at least the owners all clean up after their dogs so theres not really any dog poop. a lot of parties get thrown here on the weekend, seeing lots of those bouncy houses for little kids. when it gets dark, it gets super creepy. theres no lights except the ones for the bathroom which is barely lit. read more

They allow dogs off leash early in the mornings. I think it's between 7-8am. It's a great way to get a walk in and let the dogs run around, play and get exercise. My dog has lots of fun coming here. Most, if not all, dog owners do clean up after their pets, so you don't have to worry about stepping in dog poop. For families, it has a playground with sand, lots of grassy areas, baseball field and tennis courts. If you want to have a party, they offer covered picnic tables and barbeques. read more
