This is a very nice park with many tall trees. It seems like a nature preserve. There is a bridge to cross, and currently there is a little water in the river. The view is very nice. This is not the kind of park that has lawns, but the playground has a tall forest as the backdrop. There are some interesting statues and markers, and the drinking fountains have a rustic look. There are some old buildings here and the park is near city hall and community center . It is very peaceful here

Beautiful park in the heart of Belmont and close to hip restaurants and pretty houses with flowers and trees. Definitively a spot to visit when in Belmont, the park smells soooo good (not sure if there are eucalyptus or bay leaves, but definitively you will get happily intoxicated of these aromas). The water adds a fresh component as well as the bridge adds the photo opp part. It is a nice park to go with family or friends for picnics and walk around. Don't miss that lion at the entrance, looks like odd (more appropriate for a Chinese theme park I would say) but impossible not to take a pic with him as well!

What's better than going to the park? Concert in the park? Free concert in the park? Free concert in the park on the 4th of July weekend! I'm a follower of Tom Rigney and Flambeau music band, and they play every 4th of July weekend Sunday at Twin Pines Park, sponsored by the Belmont Park Boosters. We drive 20 miles from Sunnyvale, take the Ralston exit, pass El Camino Real, and make a left into the Park. Lucky for us, a rare parking spot is open right in front, although later we learn that the parking lot extends a long way back. But today, parking is scarce, with several hundred people in attendance for the concert. Will have to get there an hour early next time. The concert is right next to the parking lot. The early arrivals sitting on the few benches around the dance area. Hundreds of people sitting in their portable folding chairs under the trees around the grassy area in front of the stage. Others on blankets on the edge of the grass. Everyone trying to stay out of the hot July sun. Behind the audience is a refreshment area, run by the Belmont Boosters, with picnic tables and benches. We get a seat here, and I get a $4 link sausage dog for the wife, and $4 chicken dog for myself, covered with raw onions and ketchup -no French kissing here! The grill fires up, and a plume of smoke envelops us. The wife moves pronto, faster than a protester at a Trump rally, not wanting to get her hair and clothes smelling with the BBQ smoke. We sit on a beach towel on the side of the stage, farthest from the parking lot, with shade from the redwood trees, only about 20 feet from the stage, on the edge of the grassy dance area. Tom Rigney comes out with his violin, accompanied by guitars, drums, and keyboard organ players. He was the MC at the Sacramento Music Festival two years ago, and is world famous now. But he hasn't forgotten his roots, have played at this venue for 40 years! Rigney dressed up all black, with a fancy colored cape, and red leather boots, strikes up tunes from lively Zydeco and Cajun, waltzes, and blues. We are right next to the speakers, but the wife comes prepared with ear plugs, when it gets too loud. Older crowd, just like at other concerts for Tom Rigney, but there are a few kids. I'm one of the very few men in shorts and sandals. Not just any flip flops, but womens Vionic tide 2 rhinestone sandals -hey they go for $80 on the internet! 1931 big red pickup truck, beautifully restored, parked in the back. People dancing on the sunny open grass area in front of the stage. Many slip off their sandals and crocs (yuck!) , and dance barefoot to the music. One couple dances in segways. One older short haired Asian lady, dressed very unisexly, tries to dance, but looks like she's doing those slow motion Asian exercises. Now, even I, with two club feet, can dance better than that! Half way through the concert, there is an intermission, with the wife scrambling to beat the line to the nearest women's restroom. I move us back out of the advancing afternoon sun, onto one of the few back benches, newly vacated, just in time before another older couple with a black poodle dog comes up. Rigney sings all the favorites, including Jambalaya, House of the Rising Sun, Swamp Fever, and ends with that Johnny Cash train favorite, Orange Blossom Special. We've followed him from the Fresno Mardi Gras, Monterey Jazz by the Bay, Sacramento Music Festival to the summer concert series in Belmont. And we will see him at the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee and the Southern Oregon Music Festival. Great venue this summer concert series in Belmont, every Sunday 1-4pm in June and July in Twin Pines park.

This is a nice park hidden away behind the Belmont civic center. We stopped by after lunch last weekend. There's a nice, large play structure (fenced in, so you can let the little kids run around) with a cool slide and even a fire pole. Camille (6) went back and forth on the monkey bars a few times. It was reasonably shady, even at 2pm. There are a bunch of Pokestops in the park, including four right next to each other in an area with logs and benches.

I love Twin Pines Park. It was the location of my Kindergarten, and 5th grade graduations. A Belmont staple.

Hello Gene, Thank you for reporting the yellow jackets. Could you tell us which picnic area you spotted them at?

a review from amom2kidsandapark.com…read more A beautiful park in a quiet neighborhood of San Carlos! This place feels so secretive. The entrance is barely noticeable from the road and the two back ways in are tucked in a neighborhood or behind a business' parking lot. Along with the two gated playgrounds, Laureola Park has open grassy space, a ball field, a basketball court, a handball wall, picnic areas, a community center with a lovely mural on it's double doors and a splash pad. The taller of the two playgrounds has a two-story structure with steps, ladders, two slides (a long sidewinder and a short bumpy), an angled climbing wall, and activities. The taller slide is only accessible via ladder. There is a small picnic bench inside the gate and very close to the structure. This gated area also has a swing set with standard and chair swings. The flooring was super squishy and I loved the little silhouettes of woodland creatures and acorns found throughout. The other gated playground is adjacent to the first and there is an entryway from the first. The second is geared more towards smaller kids, but the different balancing and climbing elements makes it fun for all! There is a small boudler with an attached slide, a hut, a balance beam, and a play structure. The play structure has a double slide, arch ladder, angled rock wall, a disc ladder, and activities. The style balance beam at this playground is so unique! I've never seen another like it. It's called a Ripple and when you walk on it it feels like you're walking on ripples of water! There is a swing set with bucket-only swings and a picnic bench. Exiting via the big playground or through a separate gate will get you to the picnic area with bbq. There is a restroom with a water bottle fill station! Easy street parking on Bayport Ct or Bayport Ave. In the parking lot off of Old Country Rd behind Heating Supply Company. If you come hungry there's a Mexican spot nearby called El Maguey and although we didn't eat there it smelled so good and looked pretty busy! Added fun! Get here by Caltrain. The San Carlos stop is steps away!

I can absolutely see why people stop here for photos and the dome and pool make for a very pretty setting. That being said, I spent maybe 10 minutes here before feeling like I had seen it all. There's not a lot to explore and my visit was made particularly less enjoyable by how crowded it was. There were at least three people doing elaborate professional photo shoots and dozens of what I can only describe as full-on Instagram productions happening around the area. It was noisy and there wasn't much room to move around and it really took away from what I imagine is a normally peaceful experience. I was here on a weekday afternoon as well so I'm not sure when a slower time might be to visit. I feel like I should preface this review with the fact that I stopped here immediately after spending the morning and early afternoon at Filoli, so in comparison it probably isn't helping me have a hugely favorable opinion of my experience here. There are also signs advising that no dogs are allowed, which I think is pretty ridiculous. This is definitely worth a quick stop if you're in the area, especially because parking is free and there's no admission fee. However, unless you are one of the people who are spread out on a blanket or carrying boxes of props for a full-on production, this is definitely not a place that you would spend very much time. For me it was an interesting, very quick, one time stop.

I noticed they had outhouse style restrooms which were cleaned, stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. The path down is slightly downhill, and is dirt paved. Wear shoes you definitely do not mind being covered in dirt. Maybe a three minute walk. There were people picnicking quietly for an afternoon date on the lawn with a blanket, that's a great idea. There is a large grass area for many families to enjoy together. Seeing it in person was really nice. Brought some teenage girls here who really enjoyed it. We enjoyed taking some pictures together. I definitely see why this area is used as a professional photography spot!! Will I come here again: if in the area and cooler weather absolutely for a gorgeous family style picnic!!
