Great service, advice, and products in a friendly atmosphere. I go there for recipe advice and for elegant stemware.

I was at the liquor store around the corner and needed some additional bitters- the employee recommended this place and it worked out perfectly! This place is coming up on its 10 year anniversary, but I'd never heard of it until now so it's a bit of a hidden gem based on my experience. Service is fine but not as welcoming as you would hope for a boutique like this (no greeting/acknowledgement, no proactively offering to answer questions about their products, etc.). They have a bunch of different bitters flavors and have many opened and available for you to try before purchasing which is awesome. They also have other drink mixes and syrups that are fun additions to cocktails/mocktails. There's also a diverse array of cocktail making kits, garnishes, cups, etc. It's a very eccentric little shop with plenty to browse through. It's perfect for anyone who enjoys making cocktails or needs to find a gift for someone who does. I've pegged it at four stars primarily given pricing...it was $18 for a small 4oz bottle of Angostura Bitters and a small bag of plain white sugar cubes (~20 cubes or so). If I weren't purchasing a last minute gift, I would've taken the time to go elsewhere. If you're looking for basic. Go to TJMaxx. If you want to feel inspired, and swarmed with creative thought for your next cocktail concoction. Or just be in awe before you open that next bottle of Cabernet from the wine store around the corner. Then GO HERE. And don't be intimidated by the giant phonohorns as you walk in. I went in looking for a wine key. And left with the cutest wine buster and a reminder of why I got into bartending. read more

THIS REVIEW IS IN REGARDS TO AN ONLINE TRANSACTION. Not in store! I wish I could say that I had a good experience with this store, especially because I am particularly passionate about supporting small businesses. However, that is not the case. Communication between me and the person helping me from the store was horrible. I ordered my items on Dec 4th, was told in the confirmation email that I would be told when my items shipped. By December 16th I had heard absolutely nothing. I sent an email to follow up and once again heard absolutely nothing. Finally called the store on Dec 19th and they told me that they didn't have the items I ordered in store. I wish I had been notified of this IMMEDIATELY, but instead my order sat there doing nothing and would not come in on time for Christmas. After explaining everything with the woman on the phone, I left my number for her so that she could contact me for any questions or concerns. (She said she had emailed me but I checked every spam, trash and inbox folder in my email and found nothing. So, I left my number in case anything changed.) After our discussion and finding a replacement item, I asked if it could be shipped and get to me by Christmas Eve. She said she would see what she could do and let me know. Then a couple hours later, I receive a cancellation notice of my order. No call, no email, no explanation, and the store was closed so I couldn't make a call myself. The next day, I call to ask about the status and she said "We couldn't ship overnight so I figured you'd want your money back." And while I genuinely appreciate that thought, because yes I do want my money back, the communication still was just not at the level that should be required for any sort of customer service. This just feels like something that could have been solved and done WEEKS ago rather than four days before Christmas Eve. I'm sure their store is cute, fun and full of eclectic boozy products. This review has NOTHING to do with any products they offer, as it seems like they are high quality. But I would NOT recommend ordering online from them. read more

Super cute store for the boozy lover in you. Employees are never friendly when I come in, and it's an immediate turn off, but I get by by looking at all the fun things here. Prices are pricey, but they have pretty much everything you'd need to make a tasty drink (sans the actual alcohol). They have a ton of different bitters (like legit a whole wall full - they also have any area where you can smell and try them), mixes, and glassware. On top of that there is a nerd section, additional boozy needs: mixing spoons, ice cube trays, jiggers, cocktail shakers, bottle openers, bottle closers, all the things. If you're a drinking person, this is the place for you if you need something immediate - and it's conveniently located in an easy-parking part of downtown! Yay! read more

I will re-evaluate once they open on time & we're able to get in. Please read my full review as I am not saying this to trash this business. I genuinely hope this is seen as constructive criticism that may make it better. The hours posted stated they open at 11:00am. So last week, we set out to explore downtown destinations for our podcast. Both of us were super excited to check this out. We hit up a coffee shop (for him) & a juicery (me) and spent time enjoying our drinks & pastry & chatting. We returned expecting Boozetique would be open. Nope. So we sat in the car & waited. There was no movement. The plant shop next door was crawling with people. Nada in Boozetique. We waited. Waited. Waited some more. Finally we said, 'F it.' Look, we realize it's a small business & frankly, we love the concept & thought it looked wicked cool/fun/unique. That said, it was one of those things that leaves a bad taste in your mouth because a) this place is perfect for us b) I guarantee we would've spent money! and c) it's one thing if you're 5 minutes behind, but when the whole business remains closed & it's a week day & all info we found stated it should be open, it's unprofessional enough that we probably wouldn't venture back any time soon. Why will we? I'm a few mins away so it's reasonably convenient that no special trip needs to be made. So yes. We will likely try again because we love the idea. Once that happens, I will absolutely update my review because again--the concept & all we can see through the windows looks fantastic... but you know what they say: you only have one shot to make a stellar first impression. After going into Boozetique I regretted having not been in here sooner which I guess I figured might be the case in the scenario that I had seen the pictures of the inside and thought it looked like it may be my new favorite store in Salt Lake once I ventured into it. After having assessed everything and checked out all their items, I can confidently say, its super cute and I love it for everything gift wise for friends and family as well as personal shopping for your own things you might want. They have a cell phone flask which was pretty clever. Everything in here was mostly local vendors for the bitters and that sort of thing which I really appreciated. The rest I think they were collected and curated but either way this stop is one you must must go in. Its not open late so don't try to go in late, don't miss it for your holiday shopping and go sometime on the weekend or in the weekdays, you won't regret it! read more

This place is awesome for looking for gifts for the wine or liquor lover. Their selection was super unique and I found a cool bar set with glasses. All of their stuff is vintage, so you know it can't be found elsewhere. Definitely worth checking out for that hard-to-shop for person. read more

After driving by this store several times, I was excited to finally have an excuse to go inside to buy a present for my wine-loving cousin that had just graduated from law school. Although I was initially impressed, I was soon disgusted by the behavior of an "artist," setting up his exhibit for an upcoming show, and the employee's response- or lack thereof. I walked in with my mother and brother, and within 30 seconds he was asking my brother for help moving a table. My brother complied, not knowing that he would be moving an extremely heavy table through very small areas stuffed with fragile things. The artist started YELLING at my brother, yelling the F-word several times, and then went back to employee and said he was "dealing with a F-ing klutz," which made her laugh, and that he would "get his art hung when ALL of these people (the 3 of us) got out of his way." I said we would be happy to get out of his way, and have no intention of returning again. The "artist's" action's were completely disgusting, but the employee's behavior and willingness to do nothing was inexcusable. None of us are against the use of the F word, but yelling it in a store at someone after they try to help is completely immature. If they needed that much space, they should have closed the store. It's a shame, I loved many products and the whole concept of the store, but after being made to feel so uncomfortable without even a comment from the employee makes it very hard to want to return. read more
