SO RUDE! But, it's Utah. What are you gonna do? Suck it up and get what you need.

They are SO MAD that you're buying wine or liquor here. No cold case. No bottle openers. Rude. Rude. Rude. But I'm from Florida so they don't phase me. I'll take three bottles, please. Have a nice day.

Decent wine selection the only downside is the way they store their wines! Why would you pay for a $100 wine and take the chances of that bottle tasting sour all because the store doesn't place them in the correct storage temperature such a shame and waste of good wine taste. Considering the state laws those who enjoy wine like myself can only purchase at these state wine stores. You cannot purchase wine at grocery stores. Depending on which location you choose to shop at, will also vary on the selection of wine. This particular location had a fabulous selection. The prices are ok and they have a couple of rotating sales on various selections. It was a fun experience just wish they stored the wine at proper temperature.

For those looking for the widest variety of wines and for solid expertise in wine selection this is the store. The Metro Wine Store's inventory represents a wide spectrum of pricing, but it is definitely slanted toward the more select. While you'll find many brands and vintages not available at other stores (some as expensive as $1,600 a bottle) many of the more routine brands like Gallo or Mondavi can't be found there (you'll have to check a regular DABC liquor store for those.) Also in inventory is a small but very upscale selection of imported and boutique beer and distilled product not available in most other DABC stores (anyone for Oban?). For the best advice on wine selection ask for the manager, Ron Harris. However, there are a number of other wine experts on staff who can offer invaluable assistance. It's best to ask for Gary, Victor, Kelly or Carly... one of whom will always be available for advice.

Had a great selection of wine. Red Rock Elephino was around $3.50 which is a good price for SLC. Picked up some libations for a party and staff was very helpful. Convenient location too!

Across the street from an excellent bakery. Get some bread for the wine. Head to Caputos for cheese.

I'm classy so I'd like to see a larger selection of box wines here. The wine store on 300 west is way better.

Utah laws are ultra uptight, but this place has pretty impressive selection and staff knowledge. Plus, um, where else could you go????

The transients like to hang out and camp outside the liquor store waiting for someone to drop change or a possible fifth of whiskey in their departure.

This place is coming up on its 10 year anniversary, but I'd never heard of it until now so it's a bit of a hidden gem based on my experience. Service is fine but not as welcoming as you would hope for a boutique like this (no greeting/acknowledgement, no proactively offering to answer questions about their products, etc.). They have a bunch of different bitters flavors and have many opened and available for you to try before purchasing which is awesome. They also have other drink mixes and syrups that are fun additions to cocktails/mocktails. There's also a diverse array of cocktail making kits, garnishes, cups, etc. It's a very eccentric little shop with plenty to browse through. It's perfect for anyone who enjoys making cocktails or needs to find a gift for someone who does. I've pegged it at four stars primarily given pricing...it was $18 for a small 4oz bottle of Angostura Bitters and a small bag of plain white sugar cubes (~20 cubes or so). If I weren't purchasing a last minute gift, I would've taken the time to go elsewhere. Come here if you're looking for unique items, not necessarily if you're looking for value (which is usually the recommendation for boutiques in general).

A few words of advice for those of you planning on drinking in Utah... plan ahead!…read more We decided to go pick up a bottle of wine and a bottle of champagne from this "Store 37" on 12/31 - just about 8 hours before New Years Eve. So did the rest of the Park City Community... there was a line out the door! Along with really strict liquor laws in Utah, the state governs the liquor stores and the number of people that can enter at one time. It was kind of funny actually, but quite a unique experience. Once we made it through the line to get inside, we browsed the mediocre selection and picked up a few things only to wait in another line to check out. Our mission was worthwhile, however, we did return with alcohol to bring in the new year! An additional thing to note, however, is that the state of Utah puts a special sticker on every single bottle of alcohol that is sold in their state. We found this out the hard way... we brought a special bottle of wine with us to dinner one night - one we'd brought from home here in AZ - and were told they could not cork it for us as it was not bought in the state of Utah. Jared actually tried to tell the waiter that indeed it was (not knowing the sticker deal at that point). Just a heads up and hopefully that will help out in your future plans! And for you naughty little yelpers, FYI - it is possible to transfer the stickers from one bottle to another. (I didn't say legal, but I did say possible). Happy new year!

Plenty of metered parking in front on 300 south. Another thing I dont like is all the wine is upstairs so I immediately grab a cart and head to the elevator which is slow. Good selections. Pricing varies. Downstairs is all the hard stuff like vodka and tequila. You get it. Line to check out always seems slow. I appreciate that they are all friendly and welcoming to my dog and help me get my boxes in the cart. Its a pain in the ass to get carts to the parking lot because its a couple of ramps up. Also no place to leave carts outside. Who's going to take them all the way down the ramps and back into the liquor store again? Im pooped afterwards haha. Place is always clean but I tend to go early when they first open so dont know what happens throughout the day. Its fairly new store so its clean.

To be honest I don't really know how to rate this place, because...well there's not much to compare…read moreit too (just the other state run liquor stores in Utah and I didn't go to any other one). Utah had very different liquor laws (re: stricter) than anywhere else so this place is all ya got. I don't buy a lot of alcohol from liquor stores (I buy in Supermarkets which is basically nonexistent for alcohol in Utah), but from what I can tell where this place is a LOT different when it comes to beer. From what I could tell hard alcohol & wine isn't that much more expensive than normal...beer is where there's a big difference. 1) bottles (and I think cans?) are sold individually. When you go over to the beer section all the cases are picked through because people are mixing and matching because they're all charged individually. Sure, if a six pack is available you can grab the whole thing but it's charged as six individual beers. 2) There's a noticeable difference in price (re: higher) than most places. 3) Nothing is refrigerated. There's two cashiers at this location. We came on a Friday night and it was crowded, but we expected that. Look, if you want alcohol in Utah you don't have many options...

Unsure…read morewhat to expect, I assumed prices would be marked up to Hell and the selection wouldn't be great compared to what I am used to back home where we can get liquor any ol place. It turns out I was incorrect on both counts. My Utah resident friend is not much into beer, so instead of dragging her to local breweries, I picked up some mix and match cans of local brews here. (Craft beer is mostly singles, more domestic or popular stuff you can get in packs.) I got three of them and one foofoolala watermelon hard lemonade for around $10. What a steal. The beers were Jenny P. beers too, so stouts and a belgian of higher %. I was very happy about the pricing. All of the beers turned out to be bangers, too. I rated them highly on untappd. The store layout was in nearly thirds, one each for beer, liquor, and wine. A good portion of the beer section was seltzers and foofoo stuff, but they had a decent selection of actual beer, and half of it was Utah brewed beer. There are people here making it and consuming it, and it's good. Be not afraid. I got a kick out of the warning signs at the entrance. The church government does not want its subjects to consume adult beverages. Hence the whole having to buy alcohol in a specific store run by the govmint. You can also buy beer from breweries just fyi. I get lost trying to keep track of all the rules making it harder to be a degenerate. But I digress, there was also a security guy by the door and everyone buying here gets ID'ed, which is not too different from back home. I found customer service to be just fine, and found what I needed easily. Everything was well organized and again the prices were unbelievable. The yelp listings for these are not always accurate, and I tried to make a new entry for this one with the correct address because it wasn't pulling up for me. Yelp merged it together with another location, but at least the address is correct now. This was the one I went to. There are many in the Salt Lake area. I would come back to sin at the State Liquor store again when I'm in town next time. They are closed on Sunday, shocking.
