This rustic roadside eatery is turning out some of the best paninos I've had! (aka hoagie, hero, grinder, sub) The meats are cut fresh to order, and are salty, savory, spicy goodness. The bread is baked in an open air oven out back, and has a perfect crust/chew ratio.(chef's kiss) The pasta is fresh (notice a theme), cooked al dente, and complicated by a myriad of sauce options. We tried the Pasta Mira, and the creamy lemon and basil sauce was perfection. The staff was helpful, friendly and hustled to ensure food was delivered quickly. We snagged two large Charcuterie to go. The meat and cheese assortment was delicious! Save room for the house made Gelato... Cheers!

This place is amazing!! I highly recommend coming here for food and gelato if you're ever in town. They have a small storefront where you order and then open seating in the attached patio. After you place your order, the food will be brought out to your table in the patio area. The serva sandwich was so delicious--all the ingredients were super fresh (and they make the bread in-house in the pizza oven located in the patio area!). I also loved the butter pecan gelato--the perfect texture and super creamy and rich, speckled with pecan bits throughout. The only miss was the pistachio cream Italian soda; I thought it was pretty bland and didn't really taste like pistachio (but the cherry saba soda was great!) This spot is a must-go when you're in Marfa. You won't be disappointed!

This place is a Must while in Marfa! Make sure you plan accordingly, as they have limited hours and days they are open. We live in TX now. We're in the Round Rock area, and about 2 years in. However, we're from the NorthEast (northern NJ transplants). We love this adventure we're on, but if you're familiar with the tri-state area, you'll understand when I say that it's hard to find good bread, pasta, pizza, etc, similar to the food scene in that area. We're constantly told to "try this place", or "that place". Each leading to disappointment. Bordo is truly a gem. It's the closest we've found since moving to TX. In fact, they'd have no problem assimilating into the tri-state area, and still kill it! Who would have thought a tiny west Texas town, 7 hours from RR, would be the place we'd find good food, bread, sandwiches, etc. that truly felt like it was from our NJ roots. Keep up the great work! By the crowds seen everyday there, we can tell that you're a fav for all visitors.

Omg! Possibly one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. And I'm 67 and a foodie so that's a lot of sandwiches. The bread! The cheese! The pistachios! Seriously you will not believe it. It's kinda hidden and you order in the shop and they bring it out to you in the eating area. They were super helpful ordering. I shared a sandwich. It was huge.

This is a teaser of what a great meal will look like!

This is one of my favorite reviews. You have to read all of the to understand the pictures.. While in MARFA, it was unanimous from the locals that we go to Bordo. It had certian days it would be open. As we visited the shops it was everyone's choice. In fact, the person that recommend it first was there for lunch! Walking in to place my order i realized the area was to order was very small and it looked like seating was outside under a covering. So I asked Heather, if there was air conditioning seating . She said no, but there were lots of fans. OK, I thought, give it a try. When we got our food and sat down in conversation with another couple (you will want to share a table for a more enhanced experience), I felt the air shift. I looked up and HEATHER had moved a fan so that the air would blow directly on me!!! That is a whole new level of thoughtfulness, customer service and attention to details. . BtW, it is comfortable with the fans, but Ms. HEATHER's thoughtfully made it amazing. Back to the pictures of the food. By the time I thought about the food photo. This is what my plate looked like! This picture is where i was in my meal!!. The food (the daily special), the company ( a couple for El Paso), was so good. We laughed because I was determined to take a picture of the food. Bite after bite pictures was not on my mind! So I thought show what you got! Bordo is a must in the Marfa experience!

Great restaurant! Food was very tasty and made from high quality ingredients. After I had accidentally ordered from an old menu online and gotten a dish I didn't recognize I asked the owner what the mixup was. He took it very seriously and although I chose to just keep what was sent because I liked it so much he still sent out a free cannoli and visited the table. So, I just don't see service like that often and it made me happy

Sitting at the other take and go location. Their focaccia is amazing!!!

Always so great. Has a salad for the first time. Amazing. And my friends loved it. And the vibe. All good yummy!!!

I ate at Bordo a few years ago when I was visiting Marfa and I still think about those sandwiches way more often than a normal person probably should. Everything we had was fresh, thoughtful, and just really well done without being fussy. But the sandwiches... those are the real stars. I genuinely catch myself daydreaming about my next trip to Marfa just so I can have another one. You honestly can't go wrong with any of them. The whole place has a relaxed, welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. Huge shoutout to Michael and Hannah and all of the staff for creating such a great spot. Can't wait to make it back.

EVERYTHING! The food, delicious and amazing! The staff, fun, knowledgeable, friendly! The eclectic gathering of locals and visitors is what makes this an experience, not just a meal. The open bread oven putting out the most delicious smells is the ambiance you didn't expect! If in, near, or passing through Marfa, PLEASE try!

Amazing place. You enter and order on one side and wait for your food in the other side. Both of our sandwiches were memorable. I got the Emiliani which was a prosciutto basil sandwich covered with parmigiano reggiano. My wife got a Cashiola , which had multiple salamis ,stracciatella, and a spicy calabrian chili kick. Both of our sandwiches were really , really good. Hers had more kick and bold flavors, mine was more subtle. The homemade bread is the perfect match to the artisanal meats and cheeses. Speaking of which , they sell those meats snd cheeses on their own if you feel like taking some with you. The pasta dishes looked great ... we'll have to make a return visit. We did get some gelato on the way out as well. Little flecks of biscotti in the chocolate biscotti gelato made for a great dessert.

Last day in Marfa, TX! Finally get to try the gelato folks raved about. It was delicious. Had the banana split and the strawberry. Meatball sub was the special. Fresh mozzarella and basil on top, a little burnt sesame bread. The spritzer with a pasta straw was refreshing. Nice place but you'd never know it from the outside. Lots of seating and friendly people. Gotta try before you head out.

Ham n cheese on right (kids size). Prosciutto and Parmesan on left. Fresh made sour dough sesame bread.

Food was good. Service was fine. Ambiance was special. There's something special about this place and I highly encourage you to go. We had sandwiches.

The waitstaff is terrific, from the friendly bartender (you can purchase almost the entire menu for 1/2 price at the bar!), to the professional waiters. The food choices are diverse and international. I love the dumplings and the bao; they transport you right to China. The glazed shrimp appetizer is to die for, and the pizza, best in Marfa. But the real piece de resistance is the steak, especially ribeye special. It's huge, and cooked just right (I love mine medium rare). Shout out to the ramen, unlike any you've ever had, and the wide variety of drink specials provide a number of whimsical choices that should please every taste bud. The chef here is terrific, as is the service. You can eat here 5 times and never have the same international fare. It's shocking in West Texas to discover a restaurant so accommodating, and the prices mean the entire family can enjoy the experience. Don't miss this incredible restaurant!

We started with the salad, which was a solid opener--fresh, generous portion, and overall enjoyable. Nothing that really stood out, but definitely not a miss. The pizza was... okay. You can tell it's fire oven cooked, which is usually a win, but ours came out a bit too toasty--borderline burnt on one side. It also wasn't cut properly, which made things a little awkward. Some slices weren't cut through at all (had to ask for a knife), and others were uneven--ranging from oversized wedges to tiny slivers. Service was a little scattered, but to be fair, we came in toward the end of the night and our server mentioned it had been a hectic evening. No real complaints there--just felt a bit rushed and disorganized. A couple of downsides: they close at 9:30, which isn't ideal if you're looking for a late-night bite or drink, and there's no room service--you have to head down to order. Overall, it's a convenient spot if you're staying at the hotel and need something easy, but it's not necessarily a destination meal. Convenient? Yes. Notable? Meh.

There is a decent size dining room, a nice bar area with high top tables, and tables outside on the patio. We stopped there to grab something to eat on the way to the Star Party at the McDonald Observatory. Not being very hungry, we split the Rio Grande Brisket Taco while sitting at the bar. The brisket was flavorful and plentiful; delicious. The bartender was busy, yet still attentive. The food orders we saw all looked good and plentiful. I wish we could have stayed a while longer, but we had a 20 minute drive to the observatory. Unfortunately, cloud cover pretty much ruined the Star Party, however, we were pleasantly surprised that a refund was offered.
