The businesses were fine. Five Below had a line that took too long & I left. However, I had items…read morein my hand I wanted to purchase but couldn't take the wait. No complaints of the Target either. Just a weird setup. Everything is very spread out. No cashiers. That seems to be the norm these days. Now the parking lot is the problem. It's a "human petting zoo" of sewer rats who are coughing up a load while they hang out there. There has to be somewhere else more exciting the children can go so customers can get in & out of their cars without that element!

Overall the shopping experience is great. Parking easy. Stores and parking lot well lit. Lots of food options for between shopping. My favorite place is the Armadillo Willy spot. A particularly comfortable location with both indoor and outdoor seating. The average person might like the two chain restaurants instead. Cost Plus. Walk in because for your love of imported food items and grab a few alcohols just because you can. Found some Dr Oetker food products and imported candy from Japan. Endless novelty items from Bob Ross calendars to Bob Ross canned drinks. Anybody would love to fin Bob Ross in their stocking on Christmas day. Some more stores like Wine and More and Marshalls and Ross are present. There is probably something for everybody here.

At first glance, you might think the Marina Plaza Shopping Center is an Asian-theme shopping plaza…read more But it's not. It's actually a mix of different restaurants, hair salons, banks, a liquor store, and the Marina Food Market. In fact, the shopping center directory includes the Denny's Restaurant and the Hotel in the rear of the property. I visited the shopping center twice recently. Once at 330pm on a Saturday, and the other time was 5pm on a Friday. Both times, I just wanted to visit the Sheng Kee Bakery. I had a better experience on the Friday at 5pm. Parking was alot easier. Okay, I don't like the parking lot. It's the "perpendicular parking" or the "90-degree parking" design. If there's lots of spaces, I like to park "nose out" so it's easier to leave. Or I park on the outer perimeter spaces, so there's nobody behind me. My truck has a rear backup camera, so I have better safety when backing up. Great safety feature to have on your vehicle in tight parking lots like this one. Or, you can just park in the Denny's parking lot, because it was empty on both days I was there. The anchor business is probably the Marina Food Market, which is an asian market. The area around the shopping center is commercial/residential, so there's a need for a food market nearby. (FYI- apartments are commercial property). Marina Plaza actually has a great location, but it seems like it needs better tenants to draw more customers. The plaza looks nice from far away, but up close you can see it's age. I did some research, and based on real estate data.....Marina Plaza was built in 1968. Around dinner time, food trucks park along the curb. Exiting the lot can be hard, be prepared to wait or use the side driveway near the Marina Food Market. Come by and visit, maybe you're find a business you like. Located near East Hillsdale & S Norfolk, across from the Shell Gas Station. The Plaza is next to the Dennys and Chase Bank.
