I am NOT exaggerating, I asked one question and wouldn't respond (or mumble) I couldn't tell tbh, I also had to see him for workers comp and had to go through a whole process to transfer to see another physician. I do not recommend him he should have never been practicing. The receptionist, Esther, is very rude and condescending as well- It makes sense when you have to work with Dr. Snob

He mumbles and has offensive halitosis. Becomes rude, condescending when asked a question or an explanation. Twice he LEFT the room. IN MIDST OF my final question. I was stunned. First time I loudly said 'hey, doc, I'm not finished!' His response was to 'hurry up!' The second time he walked out I said to my husband, 'let's go. This is my final visit with him!' Due to my disability, I move slowly I was gathering my things, my husband was helping me off the table and stool, when he arrives at exam room, with his next patient in tow & said, 'you're still here?' I responded you know me doc, I have become very slow & cautious' to which he replied,'WELL, HURRY UP! I have other patients!' There are 3 exam rooms, yet he uses one only. That coming from being his patient for 25 yrs at the time! I have a high tolerance for pain, yet if my body responds with a cry when I'm over my tolerance level (several times with him) his professional, comforting words are: "Oh! Don't get your panties in a twist!" or, "Ok, that's enough! Stop!" Then we have Esther. Been with him years. No smile, always rushed, and caught her in several lies. I speak The truth!! She lies to patients. Never apologizes, or accepts responsibility I plead temporary madness for continuing to return to him for care. By the way, I wish these ratings had a NO STAR box or a BLACK STAR. I would have used it.

I was referred to Dr. Lin for my knee injury (full rupture of my right Patellar tendon). Although…read morehe is a hand specialist, he has knowledge of all things Orthopedic. After being told by 2 different doctors that they needed an MRI to verify the injury before they could do anything, Dr. Lin performed an ultrasound of my knee and saw right away what the problem was. He seemed frustrated that it had taken 2 weeks for me to get the problem officially diagnosed, as my injury needed surgery to be performed pretty quickly. He didn't want to waste any time and got me scheduled for surgery 5 days later. The work he did was phenomenal...only a 2 1/2 inch incision and minimal pain during recovery. I'm 14 weeks post op now and almost back to full range of motion in my knee. Nothing but good things to say about this man. Positive experience all around.

Where to begin? My husband was involved in a motorcycle accident {due to some idiot running a…read morestop sign) and the ER surgeon told him he'd need surgery. At the pre-surgery consultation, the ER Dr, said he wasn't sure how to fix the "bad break" to his wrist but would try screwing an exterior metal bar down his arm at two locations and casting for 6 weeks and "see if that works". He also wasn't sure what kind of hardware he'd be able to use and would have to figure that out. WHAT? Sounded pretty archaic, and, if it didn't work then we'd be back to square one. Having had a wonderful experience for a different issue at Monterey Spine and Joint, I called them and was able to schedule an appointment for my husband to see Dr. James Lin in a couple of days. We went in, Dr. Lin looked over the MRI from the ER and said he could fix it. When asked about the hardware, he whipped out his phone and pulled up an image of what he'd be using. When asked what his level of experience was with this type of injury, he said "Let me put it this way, if you'd seen any other doctor in Monterey County, they'd send you to me." SOLD! Confident minus the cockiness. Dr. Lin performed the surgery two days later at the Monterey Surgery Center (Which is another great review) and personally came out to the waiting room to speak to me when he was done (other doctors sent nurses to speak to other loved ones), which I was grateful for. My husband only needed to use painkillers once then the occasional Ibuprofen. Ten days later and all was looking good enough to start hand therapy. They don't have a hand therapist at MS&J so Dr. Lin referred him to Terrapin, also at Ryan Ranch. The therapist there (Lisa) had a great relationship with Dr. Lin's patients and could email or call him directly if anything came up, which was great and showed a team approach in my husband's healing. Dr. Lin was great with all follow ups and we never had to wait long in the office or get more X-rays than absolutely needed. He and his staff were great, always smiling and warm and tolerant of our sense of humor. Fast forward 6 months and am grateful to say my husband is healed, and we're happy to say that choosing Dr. Lin was the BEST decision we could have made throughout my husband's road to recovery. Dr. Lin, we are thankful beyond words for everything you did for us. B & P

Perhaps I should have found a new pediatrician when they kept putting me on 30 minute holds every time I tried to make an appointment. This practice has gone down hill even more since it was bought out and the office staff are incompetent. My youngest just started high school and somehow, his middle school lost his vaccination records so I called MPPMG to obtain a copy for the school. They would not give me access to their portal since my health child had not been seen in 2 years. They were willing to fax the records to the high school so whatever. What they didn't send was the full vaccination record so I got a letter from the school saying there were missing required vaccines. My husband called and made an appointment to get the vaccine and given a 9:30am appointment. When he arrived with our child, he told them he was here for a 9:30am appointment and he & my child were taken back for vitals and then put in an exam room where they waited for quite a while before someone from the front desk came back and said the appointment was actually at 10:30am. My husband ask the woman if that was the case, why didn't they say anything when he checked in and why were they taken back to a room. He also told her he wanted her to know that this wasn't his fault and he would like to get out of there in a timely manner. In the end, my kid didn't even need any shots so the appointment was a huge waste of time. And today we received a letter stating that due to a recent interaction, they have fired my children as patients and will no longer see them. My husband was not rude and did not raise his voice at any point, which is why I felt to compelled to write this review. It should serve as a warning to anyone considering taking their kids here. They mess up, don't sent the complete vaccination records to the school, tell us the incorrect appointment time and now they won't treat our kids. I could see if voices were raised and foul language was used but this was a normal interaction yet this is how they respond.
