Most days it took me over 10 minutes to get him to leave because he was always having so much fun. It was very clear to us that our son loved being there and that Mangala loved him like family. We KNEW he was safe and loved and well cared for and challenged every day. Our family recently left Los Angeles, which is the only reason why we stopped sending our son to First Steps, and leaving this daycare was one of the most difficult things about moving. She always came home clean, fed, and happy, and there were never any injuries or health concerns. I couldn't believe how they had my daughter wearing a hat outside and sleeping in a crib--this helped a lot to create good habits at home, too. The daycare is immaculate, and all the toys are in excellent condition. I'm picky about what my daughter eats, and their menu is great--very healthy. I also love that I never had to worry about sending food with her. Most importantly, the teachers are caring and warm. My daughter LOVED them. They have a system where parents aren't really allowed in the main daycare area except on rare occasions. At first I was skeptical about this, but having experienced it the other way at her new daycare, I think it's actually wise. After a short-lived adjustment period (my daughter's pretty social, so this was only 3 days in her case), she basically never cried again. I would carry her to the front gate, and she would all but LEAP into her teacher's arms, so excited to go play inside. I think it helped that the precedent was clear: if you want to go play with your friends, teachers, and toys inside, you have to say bye to your parents. She often didn't even want to leave school when I came to pick her up; she wanted to stay and watch all the other kids get picked up by their parents. And if she saw her teacher walking home, she would beg me to go over so she could interact with her some more. Anyway, we loved Busy Little Bee, and I'm sure you will, too.
