For one thing, the lack of transparency is appalling. I asked for a quote to install a new toilet thinking that it was leaking & the plumber without looking at the toilet closely, said it would be $900. The woman on the phone said it would be around $450 or so with the $90 service fee applied toward it. When I objected, he tried to say that that brand of toilet was the reason for the price. He reduced the price to half when I reminded him that toilets come in several price points! I refuse to do business with them. No star at all if possible. read more

Each time, I've ended up hiring them for additional projects because I've been so pleased with their professionalism, reasonable prices, timely work, and the overall ease of working with them. I was very happy with the job Warren and DJ did to install our little cold water faucet. The faucet was a little out of the ordinary, but they figured out what needed to be done and were done relatively quickly. This was after another plumber came out and said that they would need to do extra work with extra parts in order to install it, and gave us an much larger estimate. I should have been suspicious of same day availability. I was quoted $549 over the phone to unclog the sewer drain and then was charged over $1300 despite being unable to unclog. He recommended that the entire sewer pipe be excavated for around $30,000 with financing available of course. The next day a different company came to look at the situation and they were able to get things fixed and running for around $200 using typical tools. Avoid this company at all costs. read more

Warren immediately sent me his number and worked with me via videos and photos to help assess my issue. He let me know that we needed a drain cleaning as the leak was caused by a blockage and gave me an initial quote on the phone. He and his team came the next morning on time. They ran into some difficulties when it came to the way my pipes were configured but found a way to make things work so that I was comfortable and the risk of flooding in the basement was lowered. They had their work cut out for them but managed to clear the pipes pretty quickly and were communicative the entire time. I want to echo a lot of what previous reviews were saying, but also wanted to detail my experience more in depth so you can gain a better understanding of how Boss Plumbing operates. I will keep this as short as I can. Boss came out to install a double vanity. Not feeling satisfied by the slow drain they advocated identifying the clog by utilizing our warranty from another company. Where most plumbers would have left for the day, Warren wasn't comfortable unless the job was done right. The other company identified a corroded drain and were skeptical about replacing it. So, I called Boss. Without hesitation, Warren said he could handle it. This was a huge project. It required a gut. Now, these Roxborough homes require a lot of TLC and the existing concrete infrastructure made things a serious labor. No issue for Boss. They demoed the room and got to work right away. Warren is an exceptional communicator and laid out expectations immediately. He gave fair pricing and also performed other laborious plumbing endeavors in my home free of charge, i.e., replacing a 60s era wall hung toilet which required specialty parts that were hard to come by. Additionally, he improved my water shut off valve by installing an easy to use mechanism. In the interest of keeping things short, I want you to understand how important these things are to me and my family and I'm sure you want this same level of care. Warren is always looking out for your best interests. Really, it exists. Warren checked in daily, made sure we were happy with progress and kept an open line of communication. This business is unprofessional. First, he didn't even introduce himself when he responded to my quote or ask for my name. Then asked for pictures which I immediately sent and he gave me a price, prefect makes sense! Next, he asked for my address which I gave to him.. I had a cracked trap under bathroom sink so I bought the trap and a faucet to replace the old ones. He gave me a price of 295 to replace the trap which is the U shaped part that I bought by the way. But the 295 was ok...but he then said in order to install the faucet it would be over 700 hundred dollars. All the while never getting out of his van but instead sent his worker in to check it out. I don't know if the job was too small for him so he over priced it but he clearly wasn't interested in working that job unless I overpaid for it. Sometimes we are our own worst enemy. read more
