RIP OFF!!!! Called these guys to install a new hot water heater. Plumbing was there from the prior hot water heater. Including going to pick up a new unit and installation was 2.5 hours. I had a frustrating and disappointing experience with Plumbing Pals that I want to share so others don't go through the same. I called them about a kitchen sink issue where water was draining slowly, and pipe is leaked or cracked under the sink. I clearly mentioned both issues during the call. They told me there would be a $78 diagnostic/service fee, which would be credited toward the final repair cost if I chose to go ahead with the work. That seemed fair, so I agreed. The technician who came out did not do any repair work. He looked at the issue and told me he only handles drain cleaning, not pipe replacement and that a different plumber would need to come for that. He also said if he attempted to unclog the drain, it would worsen the leak and the sink still couldn't be used. After he left, my card was charged $78. Shortly after, I received a quote of $475 to unclog and replace the P-trap (drain pipe). Even though it seemed high, I approved it. I also downloaded a $50 coupon from their website, as they suggested. Once the work was completed by a plumber the next day, I asked to confirm that the $78 would be credited toward the $475, along with the coupon. He said only the coupon would apply, and the $78 would not be refunded or included, even though that fee was supposed to cover diagnostics, and this job was a direct result of it. I called Plumbing Pals for clarification, and they sent me a recording of my initial call as "proof" that I only requested drain cleaning. Ironically, that very recording clearly shows I said there was a leak or crack in the pipe that might need replacement, which confirms I was upfront from the beginning. It's obvious they either didn't listen or chose to ignore what I said. When I tried to escalate the matter, I was connected with a supervisor named April, who was extremely rude and dismissive. She insisted that the $78 would not be refunded or credited and told me if I wasn't happy, I "didn't need to do business with them again." As a customer, I'm not a plumber, I rely on professionals to diagnose the issue (which is why they charge the service fee in the first place), communicate honestly, and apply the service fee toward the repair as advertised. This company failed on all fronts. In short, this was a misleading, overpriced, and unprofessional experience. I regret using Plumbing Pals and strongly suggest others look elsewhere for honest and respectful plumbing service. read more

These guys came out, blasted off a clean-out that I warned them was broken and leaking, and flooded my basement with sh... raw sewage and solids. It still smells. They didn't clean or fix anything. I paid them $500, in full, and was willing to move on. You'd think they'd be laughing to the bank. No. They failed to show for an estimate, they called me to talk loud at me over the phone for having a land line phone, or whatever. So I complained about broken clean-out and sjtshower. Then it was endless emails about how they're not responsible for anything. They don't clean anything and they don't fix anything. Hydro jet can't break anything that's installed correctly. I never said it was installed correctly. I told everyone it was leaking sewage. I had to spend a considerable effort fixing what they had blasted off. I put in a request for quotes at 9:00 PM, and by 9:04, I had a response from Economy Drain Cleaning & Plumbing for two availability windows for someone to come by the following day, as early as 8 AM (so less than 12 hours after my initial request!). Two plumbers arrived within the window I requested and were able to remove a broken and leaky garbage disposal and re-plumb my under-sink area with regular pipes (since I wasn't ready to commit to a brand-new disposal). They worked quickly and efficiently, and I'm very pleased with the results. They charged what I felt was a very decent rate for service and parts, and they were done before I knew it. As a semi new homeowner I was dreading the day I have to get plumbing work done but these guys made it SO much easier. Somehow, just my luck, BOTH sinks' pipes broke in the same week and I needed to get the P Pipe replaces ASAP. After getting ghosted (story of my life) by another company, Travas and Jay came to my rescue, at 7pm on a Saturday night nonetheless (we figured since it wasn't the biggest job the other guy lost interest).I was hesitant in calling Evonomy because it looked like they only had one review BUT when I opened the 'hidden' reviews they were great, I think yelp hides them bc people didn't pick stars and just wrote their thoughts. I appreciated that the economy guys treated my issue with the same seriousness as they would something larger. They were very knowledgeable and helpful and made me feel at ease about the whole thing. When the problem was a little worse than expected Jay didn't flinch and ran to Home Depot to get more parts, was back within the hour and finished the job. A few days later I thought there was a crack in the pipe that was installed and they came back no questions asked and double checked everything. I have already given friends their contact info and will keep their number handy just in case anything else pops up. I got quotes from 5-6 companies and these guys provided the best quote. Won't be calling them again. The work they do is good but the prices are insane! Went I called and made the appointment. I told them what was wrong and what needed to be done. They said $185 for snaking and $350 for hydrojetting. When the work was done, I was charged $450... on top of that the tech said I can use a credit card for the payment and with taxes it was $463.50. He never said there was a 3% charge ($13.50) for using a credit card. I told him that I can pay by check to and I would have if I knew there was a charge for that!! These guys are a scam... make sure you confirm and reconfirm the payment before an work is done. Also, these guys don't have the proper tools... they had to go to home depot to get a snake... shouldn't a licensed plumbing company have a snake in their truck? Never using them again!!! Replying: This is residential not commercial! It's a 1st floor of a duplex. So $265 for removing a toilet and putting it back... WOW!!! read more

I wish there were more companies like Economy. We had a blocked 2" sink drain and had tried in vain to clear ourselves with a snake and drain bladder. We originally called TLC to come out and they quoted $700 just for a snake. Shocked by the price, found Economy, who was willing to come over to the other side of the city next day! They snaked the line and unfortunately, could not clear. The owner, Travis, came over the next day to discuss possibly rerouting the drain line, since repairing existing would mean tearing up foundation. He was very transparent and honest, even suggesting that we have the line jetted first before committing to an expense replacement. That jet team came out the following Monday and it worked! Pricing was very fair, even the original snaking cost was rolled into the jet cost. Every person we dealt with, from the call center, to the owner, to the guys on-site, were extremely professional.
