I called Mike Mason because my husband broke the interior guts of our toilet while attempting to fix a loose handle. He came out quickly and replaced everything for $295. Is that expensive? I have no idea, but the toilet is working fine now. While he was here for the toilet repair I had Mike give me a quote for a water-powered sump-pump backup. I was prepared to pay whatever the cost and have no idea (again) if the $1750 I paid for it was "a good price," but the job is done and the peace of mind I now have is worth the cost of installation. Mike is awesome - I needed help with misaligned pipes to a new bathroom sink. Mike was professional and knowledgeable about replacing our water heater and converting from an electric range to a gas one. Scheduling was tricky with him but that's what you get with an in demand plumber. Our front yard hose bib and our shut-off valve were both seized. Also, our shut-off valve was located directly underneath a joist which made it inconvenient to work with, so Mike replaced everything and re-routed the shut-off valve to make it more easily accessible. I was saved! Mike (the owner) happened to be in my neighborhood when I called for a clogged sink...a really clogged sink filled to the brim with dirty water. He (not a machine, mind you) personally answered the phone and said he'd be over as soon as he finished the job he was on which would be in an hour or two. True to his word he called when he was on his way in an hour and 45 minutes. Took a look at the problem, went out to his truck for some tools and fixed the problem within an hour. GREAT service. Over the past 10 months we've had a continuous saga with Home Depot selling us two (yes, TWO!) broken dishwashers. Mike installed and reinstalled the lemons they sold us. Over the past 10 months, he was also responsive and available by phone to help me combat GE's repeated accusations that the dishwasher they sold us (the 2nd one) wasn't working due to improper hookup (which proved to be totally untrue when they later - and reluctantly - agreed to replace it.) GE sent at least 8 repairmen to our home over 10 months to fix various parts of the 2nd dishwasher they sold us and Mike helped me navigate the process. His assistance was crucial for me since I didn't know enough about dishwashers to counter the ridiculous remedies GE continued to suggest would fix the faulty unit. Most recently, Mike came to my home at a moment's notice when Spirit Delivery (which was contracted with GE to install my THIRD, and hopefully working now, dishwasher) sent two men to install the unit but who suddenly refused to do so b/c my water shut-off and circuit breaker was in my basement (as opposed my kitchen...what?) Had Mike not been there to speak to the Spirit Delivery men about the logistics and, eventually, take over the install my saga with GE and their dishwashers would have continued past today. I am so glad to finally have an installed and (hopefully) working dishwasher that also happens to be esthetically pleasing since Mike placed it flush against my kitchen cabinets (something Spirit Delivery also refused to do.) I couldn't have done it without Mike's professional, personable and responsive approach to his business: three very appreciated and hard-to-find qualities in this increasingly modernized and computerized decade. As an aside, I will never purchase anything from GE again or from Home Depot, who sold me the dishwasher in the first place. After attempting to install a new kitchen sink faucet I accidentally broke the drain pipe going into the craw space of my home. That evening I sent M D Mason an email about my situation.
