I recently re-ordered, but when I received the credit card authorization, I realized I had accidentally ordered about 8 extra items. I immediately texted to ask to have the merchandise removed. I had barely finished closing my laptop when I received credit for what I had accidentally ordered. That is customer support at a level rarely seen! I now consider myself a lifelong customer.

This is more of a review of the other ignorant reviews here. Folks writing 1 star reviews are being overly dramatic. They claim the tanks are dirty and "full of algae"(?). Algae growth is a sign of healthy tank water. I would worry if the tanks looked sterile. In the aquarium hobby sterility kills. The other pets may look "miserable" because they were rescued but you didn't bother to inquire about that, did you? Confront the owner first, then write your review. Seeing mature and well cycled tanks with plants and a bit of algae is always a good sign in a fish store and if the water is good for the cat to drink, it must be good for you as well. Someone even suggested the owners should "wash their cat". Do they even know how cats WORK? Those who scrub their tanks, end up busy fishing out corpses the next day and I'm sorry to say, if you put in your tank a fish that has been swimming in the store tank for weeks and it dies the next day in your tank, it's ON YOU for improper acclimation or wrong water parameters. Having good test results doesn't mean that other parameters like water hardness and temperature check out. Most fish I bought there had no issues. Occasional fish death and illness can be random but can't be blamed on the person who just sells them.

I ended up getting a few different plants and so far they seem to be doing fine. The staff member/aquarist Grace was very knowledgeable and friendly. She patiently answered all my questions, and I could tell she was passionate about taking care of the fish and plants. I separately had placed an order online for pick up, and she forgot to include an item, but I managed to get a refund on the product. Overall, I think this place has many strengths in having a variety of aquarium and plant supplies, plenty of live plants and snails, different colored shrimp, and seemingly every other fish except endlers. This groomer was good but very pricey. I just plain couldn't afford her, so I made an appointment at Brookline Grooming on a friend's recommendation. I'm not sure if was the owner who groomed my cat, but she did an excellent job. Especially because my cat has a difficult personality. Her assistants tag-team restrained him with a perfect balance of gentleness and control and his protests were minimal. I felt the groomer was extremely skilled, making quick work of a difficult, matted mess. Both she and the assistants handled my cat with firm kindness. This place exceeded my expectations. I'm extremely happy with the result (the photo is a bit dark but he looks absolutely lovely and feels like velvet!) and have already made my follow-up appointment.

I then asked how long until he will be ready and they said around 3-4 hours. I called to check on him after that time and they had no update on him. Then their phone lines were down so I went in and they let me know he was up next on the grooming table but didn't have an exact time. At 4 pm he was finally ready and they let me know they brought him out to go to the bathroom( plus for them but I'd hope so as he had been there awhile!) I got there as soon as I could and my dog looked upset. The groomer came out and said how she couldn't do my dog's face because he was biting and thrashing and I should look into anxiety meds for grooming. I have personally seen my dog groomed and been told by every groomer in the past that he is a joy to groom. He went to puppy training classes and is always a calm dog in these situations. I let them know it must be something they had done or triggered to make him react that way because I have never seen my dog bite, he's a very sweet boy. They also claimed he was in " bad shape" and shamed me for his hair yet he was given a bath and brushed by a professional a week before this groom. I went back in because I was so upset by this experience and the staff and they just continued to blame my dog. Regardless, for an upscale dog grooming establishment they should be able to accommodate dogs for this price. Horrible experience- I have not written a Yelp review in a long time but I needed to for this. $95 before tip for this and they didn't offer an apology or anything but just blamed my dog.

Unfortunately, those instructions were not followed and the final result was extremely upsetting. Yeiko is not only my pet, he is my emotional support dog, and seeing him returned with areas shaved that I never approved has caused me significant stress and anxiety. As a pet owner, you trust professionals to handle your animal with care and to respect the instructions you provide. Although the company later acknowledged that the grooming did not meet their own finishing standards and offered a refund, the damage has already been done and I now have to wait for his coat to grow back. I also requested verification of the training or certification of the individual who performed the grooming, which is important when trusting someone with your pet's safety and care. Pet owners deserve transparency, professionalism, and respect for their instructions. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect those standards.
