From start to finish--these guys were fantastic. I used an offer these guys had on Yelp, and had trouble inputting the code so I ended up not paying them up front (whoops! sorry guys) Ken reached out to me with specific instructions but also offered that I could pay once I meet the sitter, Molly. Molly worked according to my schedule and came by without a hassle on Sunday before our trip. She was VERY pleasant, and even Steven (our ever shy kitten) even came out from under the bed for a brief hello. Molly had a notebook and specific questions as I showed her where steven's food and litter were kept. I think most pet owners who hire a sitter tend to be fussy. I ended up texting Molly more specific instructions and requests leading up to the trip--all of which she handled without question or complaint. She also had to deal with getting concierge to open our apartment door every time she came by. Steven was fed and had someone to play with in the comfort of our apartment. We got notes and pictures of the furball every day that we were gone. We came back to a clean food bowl and clean litterbox. I am beyond satisfied with Pet Watch Boston. read more

I'm just going to start off with saying that I'm pretty weird about my pets. I think I like them more than most humans, so I obviously expect the best care for them. After growing up on a horse farm and attending undergrad in my home state, I moved to Boston from Kansas (Rock Chalk Jayhawk) for graduate school. I decided I was ready for a kitten, and so now I have a semi-crazy 9 month old cat that doesn't really know her limits. I went on Thanksgiving break to visit the family, and decided to check out Pet Watch Boston because it had the best reviews. And now I know why. Ken is awesome. He came and met Stevie and checked out my apartment for no charge before break. I have a weird key situation and he was really easy going about that and we figured out a way for it to all work out with no worries. He sent me detailed reports of Stevie's life every day (even on Thanksgiving). I am really, really impressed with his professional and also casual attitude, and I know that he actually cares about his clients, and spends time with each critter individually. 10/10 would recommend, will have Ken cat sit Stevie again. read more

All I have to say is thank goodness we found Ken at Pet Watch Boston! Our regular pet sitter (family) had to cancel last minute (as in, we were supposed to be leaving for our trip in a few hours kind of last minute!), so we had no other choice but to turn to Yelp and hope for the best. Looking through our options, we preferred an arrangement where wouldn't have to board the boys in an unfamiliar environment... just knowing that they would be right at home where they're most comfortable was such a relief, and not only made the process much easier for them, but obviously also more convenient for us. We were worried we weren't going to find anything to fit our needs not only because it was so last minute, but on top of that our dogs (a papillon mix and a mini Australian shepherd) are unfortunately super skeptical of strangers, so it's always such a stressful hassle finding a pet sitter that has the experience and is fully capable and willing to take on the role without at least having the opportunity to meet and establish a relationship with our dogs. After reading all the positive reviews, I crossed my fingers and reached out to Pet Watch Boston. Ken was reliable and professional from the very first point of contact. He was able to immediately provide me with a quote, and reassured me he had been working with all kinds of dogs with all different temperaments for years, and was confident our pups would be just fine. He even took into consideration that we were so crunched for time, and waved the meet and greet and made special accommodations for a key drop off. Since we would not be exchanging keys in person, Ken made sure to confirm with us as soon as he received the keys. Then came the actual home visits. Now quite honestly, we were half expecting a call from Ken saying there was no way he'd be able to help us after meeting the dogs. Seriously, it's embarrassing how hit-or-miss they can be around new people. Especially since we weren't there, I couldn't help but be a little worried. But thanks to Ken, that call never came! Instead, I got a text message as soon as he got there saying everything was going great! He was sure to include pictures, and even went as far as to say they were so friendly, and great dogs! As far as we can tell, everything went off without a hitch, and Ken was perfect. My husband and I just got back from a 2.5 week vacation and Molly helped us out tremendously (THANKYOU MOLLY!) with our two dogs. Her professionalism, patience and genuine love for animals makes it easy to trust her and share concerns. We have two male dogs and sometimes, they get into a spat. Molly happened to be there when they did and she stopped them immediately maintaining her calm energy. She updated me with at least 6 pictures every day with a little note about her visit. Little detail that I loved, she dates her emails which allows you to sift through them easily when looking for pictures etc. She can also read dogs very well, which was extremely helpful to us since it allowed us to truly personalise the visits. Ken was wonderful in watching our cat, Rocky. We had Ken originally watch Rocky back in July when we were on a 10 day trip, and then recently over a short weekender. He emailed us every day with photos and details of his visit, left the house in perfect order, and in summer - even watered our plants (and no joke, he has a green thumb, the plants looked great when we returned!). Ken is extremely easy to work with, and a really nice guy I felt I could count on. The prices are reasonable as well. The best part is that when we returned from each trip, Rocky was happy and did not do his typical "I missed you so much" dance. I usually get very anxious, even about going on fun vacations, because I don't like to leave our cats home alone. If you want peace of mind about your pets while you are away, Pet Watch Boston is definitely the way to go! We came home to healthy, happy cats and I couldn't ask for anything better than that! We have two adult, indoor cats (Buttons and Bodie) who used to be very easy to take care of. Previously, we have always had friends just stop by once a day, or once every other day, to top off a bowl of dry food and freshen up the litter and water. However, Buttons recently had to go on a twice-a-day medication for heart issues, and Bodie now has recurring urinary tract infections, so we decided to hire Pet Watch Boston for this most recent out of town trip. Ken came and met both cats before we went out of town, so I could go through the feeding/medication routine with him. The cats are finicky about their routine--for example, Buttons will only eat part of his wet food, then he immediately demands dry food, which he will only eat while locked in the bathroom. Ken was completely unfazed by this any many other complexities/quirks, and stuck to all aspects of this routine. He diligently monitored Buttons' behavior with regards to his heart health, watching for vomiting and other signs that he was not feeling well. Ken also monitored Bodie for signs of a urinary tract infection cropping up, and agreed to give her a pain medication if he noticed one. I really, really appreciated knowing that he was keeping as close an eye on their health as we do every day--I can't stress this enough! Ken sent emails once a day to update us on how the cats are doing, with pictures attached. Even though we were on a tropical vacation, I looked forward to reading those emails every night. I could tell from the pictures that our cats really warmed to him during his daily play time with them. During his last visit, Ken also took out our trash, which was very thoughtful and a nice little surprise when we got home! In short, next time we go out of town, we are definitely hiring Pet Watch Boston again. They came to my house to meet my two kitties Samson and Delilah, and noted all the details I told them(I might have told them a lot, but they didn't seem to mind it). I went on a cruise one week ago and enlisted the expert service of pet watch to take care of my dwarf hamster. I found the service through a friend who highly recommended their work. My main contact Ken Garofalo explained the variety of pets they can take care of and services offered. He was even willing to be flexible on the prices and we worked out an excellent agreement. I had one day of service and mail retrieval while I was away. Upon return from my trip i am pleased to say that pet watch exceeded my expectations. Three weeks ago I was on a desperate search for a caring pet sitter. I was staying at a Boston hotel and needed my two pups taken care for in my hotel room. The hotel recommended two places and so did my friend and all three took a long time (at least 12 hours for one and two days for the others) to respond to my desperate request. Two did not respond and one just sent me a text. I was desperate since I needed a sitter for 14 hours! I searched online and came across Pet Watch Boston and I filled out a form - within minutes I receive a call from Ken to schedule time for a meet and greet with my pups and I. Ken and Blanka were on time and professional. Blanka (sitter) was extremely loving and patient towards my pups - both are old and stubborn. She kept a detailed log of when they ate and walked. When she came to take care of the pups she asked me questions that showed that she will take great cake of my pups such as when they should be fed, walked and any other preferences that I had. To top off the great service was their unbeatable fee - they were a lot cheaper than the other sitters and walkers I initially inquired with. Molly is terrific! She has watched our cat many times now and she's the only person we trust to care for him while we're away. I really appreciate the text updates and photos she sends us from each visit, and she seems to really care about our cat too. She's also incredibly patient with our oversharing (I leave several pages of notes for her each visit and text her other updates) and seems to pay attention to the things we change between visits. Ken did a great job taking care of our cat during our trip out of town. He was very diligent, professional and our cat was relaxed when we got back home. Usually he is very upset about having been left behind, even while we have people checking in or even staying over. So Ken must know what he is doing. I have given one star because it will not let me give zero. Absolutely awful service. The first day my dog was walked two times the entire day. I specifically told Kenneth that Bruno needs to go out on a regular basis and that I take him out every 4 1/2 hours at the most, every once in a while if in a pinch I will leave him up to 6 hours. For the first day all it said was a 30 minute walk in the morning and 30 minutes at night. I could go on and on about the sub-quality ''care'' he provided for my pets. I also have 2 cats, both of which are orange. On the last day and I quote, he wrote "Even the orange cat came out for some petting this morning!". You've got to be kidding me. When I got home and changed the litter box it was like it hadn't been cleaned for at least 2 days, absolutely caked with wet litter. Admittedly, when I got home from a 6 hour plane ride I was a bit out of it and reading over his ''pet watch report'' I didn't make much of it. But, after looking more closely a day or two later is when it was blatantly obvious he was not taking the job seriously. In an email explaining I wouldn't use his services again, specifically writing about my dog being walked 2x on day 1 and the cats litter box being caked with wet litter he responded with an email saying he apologized and would send and $18 refund check for the sub-standard service. Days later, nothing had come in the mail, so I emailed him again asking him to drop off the check along with the key to my apartment. By the way, he had said at an earlier point he could drop off the key any time if I wished. The day after my email about the refund check he wrote me back saying he had mailed me the refund along with the key in the same envelope. I received that today. The envelope was torn open, no key in it and what he sent was not a check, but a rebate for $18 worth of pet sitting services. Ridiculous, it was clear because I clearly stated I would not use his company to watch my pets again. This person has the absolute worst business etiquette I've ever come across. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS. read more
