I have to be honest that I took the class more for fun than to learn to become a professional bartender. No matter if your goal is for to learn for fun or for a job I can't imagine any place could better prepare you. They teach you in the way that makes most sense, hands on. The classroom is actually a real bar. So it makes things really feel like your working an actual bar. You start with the basics and finish with a practical test where you have to make 15 or so different drinks that the instructor orders from you out of a total of like 40 or 50 that they teach you in the class. They also teach you a lot of history and general bar knowledge which I found fascinating. The other really interesting aspect was all the first hand experiences and insights of the instructors. All the instructors were very experienced bartenders who were also great teachers. I found the stories and tips they gave to be the most valuable part of the class. So if you want to be a bartender or are just really interested in cocktail culture I would highly recommend taking a course from them.

I have worked so hard in her class and focused on bartendering so I know what Im doing once I get in the field. I also have been ripped off I paid for the class and test. Then before I took the test Ella said I didn't pay for the test, I told her to check her documents which after going back and forth before the test she then finally checked and said I did pay. She didn't even apologize, I didn't take the test out of frustrating and outrage, she said she wanted $20 that I didn't owe her. I knew if I would of tested I would passed it. DON'T waste your Time. You intend on becoming a bartender. To be clear, I am explicitly excluding what some people call "mixologists" (where that term isn't yet passé). I mean, you'll be armed with the fundamental knowledge and skills to serve booze. Mostly to patrons who couldn't tell you (and probably don't care about) the difference between a daiquiri and a mai tai. 2. You're looking for a fun social activity to do. This could be with a significant other as a date, or with a group of friends that are interested in expanding their drink knowledge beyond Bud Light and Irish Car Bombs. Plus, you get the added bonus of becoming TIPS certified in case you decide to pursue a profession in bartending. The morning TIPS course is, by nature, somewhat dry and technical. Our instructor did a fine job with offering enough participant engagement and real-world anecdotes to spice things up. There's really only so much you can do to make a video-led instruction fun. For the "mixology" portion of the day, you'll actually get some hands-on application with speed pours and you'll experience what it's like to get behind a bar. You'll learn some information (or misinformation, in some cases) about alcohol products and their history. And finally, you'll get to practice slinging a number of classic cocktails. And by "classic cocktails" I mean "colored water mixtures at the same proportions that classic cocktails would be." That's right, folks.
