Walter and his team are unbelievably efficient, kind, pay attention to detail in every way and Walter sings while he works! Our move began at 8:30AM and ended around 5:45. We had an extra refrigerator that we wanted placed in our basement laundry area that for the life of my husband and I could not figure out how it was going to work. I mentioned another location at first then said where we really wanted it and it was done! Miraculously, they found a way to make it fit with room to spare! Boston Best Rate Movers is named very well because the price cannot be beat for all this team did. They literally worked non stop except for 2 very short breaks throughout the day. They are incredibly strong and willing to think through possibilities. My daughter is moving in California and I wish that there was a BBRM office there for her to use. I was extremely happy when I asked for this team to return for our move from our rental to our condo and BBRM made it happen. After they finished, we ordered pizza and had our first dinner in our new condo with them. For one of life's most stressful events this was a lovely way to remember our move. selecting Boston best rate movers was a good choice overall. Website offers good information but is not easy to use. Movers were scheduled to come at 12:00 but I got a call at 10:00am saying they are free and can come early. Movers did not have the correct order because office staff had messed up on the paperwork. I had selected $135/hr for 3 movers and all the packing supplies - movers came with the order of $119/hr and no supplies. Clearly the office staff needs to do a better job of getting the order correct. When reserving office had told me that all the packing supplies are included but despite objection they charged for wardrobe boxes. Typically they cost $11-12 at Home Depot with Boston best rate it's $22. When asked for clarification office staff said it's listed on the website. Estimate time for move was 3 to 4 hrs - giving a quote of around 500 on the higher side. Final total for me was 850+. Move took a total of 5 hrs. For a 1 bedroom unpacked apartment on the 5th floor with no elevator is a good time. While the overall experience with the move was pleasant and little bit of hassle - lack of clear communication about charges and what's included and not included needs to improve. If you paid someone over a $1000 to store your belongings and they required you to sign a waiver agreeing not to take court action against them if your possessions where damaged or missing.. not to post negative reviews or take credit card action in order to get those possessions back would you sign that waiver? Upon refusing to sign that waiver would you pay them to get those possessions back? I have been informed I owe them money because I refused to sign that waiver. My storage payments are all up to date but they apparently charge you to release your possessions. They also deviate from there moving rates without getting your approval to do things that incur extra charges without getting your permission. Beware of that. Make sure you make it 100% clear that you will not pay a cent over what they agreed to do the job for without first getting your permission. The owner responded to my opinion on this matter by telling me to pay them what I owe them. So it's.. sign the waiver or pay us to take our time meeting you at our Storage Facility so that you may take your possessions back. Sign a waiver or pay us? WOW-WEE! What a GREAT moving company! Not only did the movers come in significantly under budget - but they showed up early for the move and worked tirelessly to get it done. We had great communication throughout. Beginning with the origional quote, to confirmation(s) in the days leading up to the move, to follow up after the move - we very impressed with such attentive service throughout the entire process! The movers were professional, efficient, thoughtful with boxes and epecially careful with fragile pieces of Art/furniture. No move in/out of Beacon Hill is ever easy! With limited parking, no elevators, tiny apartment spaces and winding staircases, we were expecting this to be a hard move -evidently, not so for Boston Best Rate Movers! I can not say enough good things about Arleu and Melvin. Both were polite, appreciative of the business, respectful with our items and properly outfitted with necessary COVID precautions. I recently moved from Massachusetts to Maine and hired this amazing company. I could not possibly recommend them more. I was moving into a two bedroom apartment and had a hood amount of furniture and many bins full of books. The three employees were incredibly prompt arriving and were very professional and friendly. Arlen, Marvin, and Franklin were absolutely incredible. They worked quickly and wrapped all furniture and framed art very carefully. One of my couches needed to have the kegs removed in order to get it out of the house. They took the kegs off carefully, and replaced them once I arrived at my new home. I should also mention that this was all done during a heatwave!! I did provide Gatorade in the morning and tipped well, but I cannot thank them enough for their speed, professionalism, and kind demeanor. Bottom line BOOK THESE MOVERS!! read more

After living on the second floor of a two family house we accumulated a lot of stuff. Remembering what a nightmare moving everything in was (narrow stairways, bringing things over the porch, multiple car rides back and forth) we decided to use Boston Best Rate Movers for a move to our new house. This was my first time using a moving company and I was really pleased with the service provided. Pricing was pretty consistent with other estimates I received, but the other reviews and communication was enough to seal the deal. Overall, the move was great. The team showed up early and got everything packed up in am hour and a half. Two small things were broken, but they were non essential and we worked it out in the end. I never had a positive moving experience until now. Edgar and his crew arrived early and were ready to rock. They were efficient, fast but careful, and professional. My expensive furniture was wrapped expertly and they removed large pieces like pros. The truck was packed (3 bedrooms plus) but organized so perfectly that even my family was impressed. Not one item of ours was damaged unlike other movers in the past. Those packing skills saved us a few trips too. Overall, they changed my attitude toward movers.
