Set right in the middle of one of my favorite neighborhoods Davis Sq. BBC always delivers a great experience that keeps me wanting to come back for more. Garlic & Parmesan Fries - Be prepared for the portion. These are unlike your typical serving of fries. I would highly recommend sharing the place with one more person. The fries are cooked perfectly with a wonderful blend of garlic and rich Parmesan. The combo of flavors mix very well together. The Kitchen Sink - Essentially everything in the kitchen sink! Bun, burger, bacon, ham & cheese. All topped with a fried egg and served with a side of chips. This is definitely a Hungry Man's burger. Absolutely delicious. Breakfast of Champions Freak Frappe - Their November special Freak Frappe. This exquisite thing is a meal in itself. I'm nvr disappointed with a visit here. They have so many things to pick from you nvr have to eat the same things twice. My go to us the inferno fries, I always add bacon. I made 2 mistakes here. We'd been walking & were quite hungry when we got here at 1 pm & couldn't open the door, even though there were people eating inside. Mistake 1 : Knocked. Eventually someone realized the door was locked and opened it. So we went in & ordered a Texas (well done) & a Sophie (medium rare). When they arrived, the first bite of the Sophie was cold & the meat raw. Mistake 2 : Didn't send it back. It was also an overly sweet gloppy mess. So my husband's 25th birthday was approaching and I began searching for a fun burger place. Boston Burger Company fit that description as soon as I saw the photos. Colossal-sized milkshakes were sure to appeal to my milkshake-obsessed hubby. I intended on going to the location on Boylston Street but drove right to this location after being told it was a 2-hour wait. Not on his birthday when we both were starving! Over to this location instead! We arrived and added our name to the 5-minute wait list. Phew! Anxiety down. After driving for way too long for a burger, I had to use the restroom. Gross and cramped. Pee on the seat. Toilet paper on the floor. A garbage can resting against my leg as I squatted over this no-better-than a portable toilet toilet. I'm 5'2'' so I cannot imagine how the average-sized human can use this bathroom. No paper towels left. I used toilet paper to dry my hands because I could barely reach the hand dryer directly over the toilet (wth???). I took a deep breath and walked out smiling without mentioning this to my husband because it was his birthday after all (lol). Another star off for the service. Apparently our waitress left soon after we arrived so we never got our drinks. I had to flag down another waitress just to get some soda after 30 minutes of absolutely nothing. And my last negative (I promise) is that they serve chips with the burger and fries are $5 if you want them...no $1 substitution here so I hope you like tasteless chips. I do not. And I refuse to eat a burger without some fries so we both got orders for the side. If you get a crazy burger and want some fries, expect to pay almost $20 for your meal. The burgers were tasty. Not the best I ever had (no complaints from my husband though!) but I kept thinking it'd be worth it the trip for the milkshake...and I think it was. We got an Oreo milkshake (well, "frappe") and it was delicious. Thick and creamy and covered in Oreo cream and crumps and doused with an insane amount of yummy whipped cream. Boston Burger has some awesome novelty burgers and they have some great combos. I got the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot which had Mac and cheese, pulled pork, Onion ring and BBQ sauce. Overall the flavors separately were awesome but when you put it all together it was a lot haha the 3 other in our party experienced the same thing but I am still glad we went. The sweet potato fries and onion rings were awesome. They came our hot and crispy. We of course had to try the shakes. The S'more shake was amazing and I would get it again. Service was awesome! Great late option. Burgers...be hungry and feel free to explore, they're all delicious. Had the buffalo macNcheese this round as well as poutine. The macNcheese with buffalo sauce and blue cheese was delicious (A+). However, the poutine was mediocre...gravy was great, fry wedges okay but not exactly the cut for this dish. The cheese was not ooey and goey so definitely reassess if poutine is what you crave as it just missed the mark. Otherwise, the other items I had on the menu were exceptional. read more

I can here on a weeknight, the restaurant was pretty full, but there was no wait for a table so my party was seated immediately. We ordered the food and.... 45 minutes go by before we finally get our food. I thought that was so weird because there weren't even that many people at the restaurant, yet there were taking such a long time to make our burgers. It might have been because there were so many people getting take out/deliveries. I'm not sure how they prioritize the orders, but there were other tables too waiting a really long time for their burgers to arrive too. Maybe the mistake was ordering a burger medium well, but the burgers that I and my friend got here were pretty darn below-average. Dry, tough burgers that were overcooked (brown all the way through), FAR TOO GREASY overall that the burger + chips and a side of Parmesan Garlic Fries just heavily settled in our stomachs and we had no remaining appetite to finish our food. I got the All-American burger but subbed the blue cheese out for another topping (pesto mayo), and my friend got the Pigferno. Our waitress took a while to take our order after she came around the first time and we asked for a few more mins to decide what to get. The burgers did come out looking "appetizing", drenched in sauces, open-faced. Unfortunately, there was nothing special about these in flavor or taste and I honestly was surprised by the low-quality of the ingredients for a place that specializes in burgers!! (that are overpriced in my opinion for what they are). Surprisingly great salads! I got the Caesar salad with fried chicken, it was a pretty large portion. It was really fresh too, I liked it a lot. Also got the Roots burger, it was HUGE, with the cheese dripping down the sides and tater tots in the middle. It was really good as well, and then English muffin buns made it unique. Loved the chips. Came here while moving our kid into college nearby. Our server was nice and efficient, but the manager seemed to check up on us so often while we were in mid conversation and something wrong was going on. During our dinner we also ordered a frappe, and the people making it were busy with other drinks. Instead of helping them, the manager proceeded to make her own frappe, and then drink it. This women is clearly not helpful to the restaurant! She's just making the service slow, getting in people's ways, and making customers anxious. read more

From a utilitarian standpoint, this place has more good things going for it than bad. Thus, like Drake in sad emotional times, it, at the end of the day, can get the job done. Pros -an eclectic selection of burgers with flavor combinations that you cannot get elsewhere. This is great news for economical drinkers like me who like to buy rounds of beers for people. Its also good for hipsters in training cause...you know...large market pale lagers is the way to go cause that ipa stuff is sooooo overrated..... - specials: they have happy hour specials such as the 4.20 specials where they sell their cure to a hangover and gateway to clogged arteries for $4.20 which comes out to be a great deal. Cons Waiting: coming here involves some kind of waiting in one form or another. This can be a turn off for me, there's only so many aisles in the CVS across the street i can peruse before I go nuts. Pricepoint: in the back of my mind, the thought that i can be getting a burger of the same, if not better quality, at a cheaper price elsewhere wades in the back of my mind. My friend and I are doing a "DDD Boston food tour" - visiting every place in Boston that was featured on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. This is our third place on the list, and so far we haven't been disappointed! I ordered the Vermonster burger which had a maple syrup mayo sauce, bacon, and sautéed apples and onions. The sweetness of the sauce and fruit complement the savory aspects of the burger, but I do wish there was something extra- like a crunchy, spicy, tangy element- maybe some pickles or jalapeños. Burgers come with house chips (not bad but not special) and coleslaw or baked beans (I got the coleslaw and put it in my burger for the crunch factor I was missing). Tip: Don't order the burger cooked anymore than medium. I got medium well but because the patty is so thick, it ended up being a little dense and dry. The "fries" were skinny cut instead of potato wedges, and you cannot order them as a side to you burger. It's a huge portion so only order them if you plan on sharing! The sides were missing. All in all, meh. I would maybe try it again but only dining in person, and at that point, why not go to Foundry or Elm St Taproom, which both have good burgers? I'm not a big person and I think it was maybe a 5 bite burger if I don't include the bread left after the meat was gone. This was a weird one. A bizarre and ambivalent experience. First off--Back of house: great job. Not a single complaint on a food level. Solid food. I asked for a rare burger and it was immaculate. All of our problems came from a strange moment with the bar, and later, front-of-house management. We ordered a pitcher of sangria, and it was just nasty. Like sugarcane. Couldn't detect a hint of alcohol. Like, literally, as if they just honestly forgot to include it. As if it were a homeopathic fruit punch. Anecdotal side opinion: someone observed someone giggling as they saw the pitcher get poured out. This is sort of tangential, and not necessarily a smoking gun, but I figured that I would mention it. Others around the table drank parts. Party of 6, later 7. We all marvelled at how sweet it was. When we mentioned it to the server, they said something to the effect of "We don't use normal wine when we make the sangria." We inquired about the alcohol content and they went off and checked, their response was that it was the ABV of the wine added to the sangria was 15%. There was no indication of how much wine was added to the pitcher. At this point, we realized that the server was completely disincluded from having any impact on resolving the problem, and was just trying to go about their night. Truly, again, not their problem. When they came by to get the bill, we requested that they remove the item from the menu. $50 for a pitcher. Of sugar and who-knows-what. They gently responded and knew to escalate to their manager. I want to really emphasize that we were not trying to be divas, or to ask for anything other than to address a poor pitcher of booze. Their manager came by and was immediately sh---y and confrontational. Like we were spitting in their face. He addressed that half of the pitcher was empty, and that therefore, they couldn't refund a penny, or do anything to make it right. We didn't make it confrontational--it was clear that this was just... the end of it. Not even a vague attempt to justify or apologize or anything. Like we were trying to get one over on him. Was he implying that we were nickel and diming them to get like an extra shot or two of liquor? If we cared that much, why on earth would we pay that much for sangria in the first place? Is it completely insane that I would write out a message this long to sublimate my negative feelings about this experience? Yes, a little bit! Is this also a general failure of hospitality? This place was on my list of places to go since I saw it on Diners, Drive-in's and Dives. Not the best burger places that I've been to, but definitely not bad either. The burgers that we ordered were definitely juicy and good. All the burgers are served with home made chips and a choice of either the baked beans or slaw. I had the hot mess burger. It was truly a mess to eat it with the thousand island dressing dripping from all sides. The flavor or the jalapeño and the bacon did not come thru as much as I would have expected, but it was a good burger overall. I asked for the baked beans and it had a nice smokey flavor. The home made chips were fine and nothing extra ordinary. The outdoor seatings are great during a nice summer day. Will definitely recommend this place and visit here again. read more

Boston Burger Company had the largest selection of burgers I've ever seen in my life. The menu has 28 burgers to choose from. AND if none of those sound good (very unlikely) they also have a "Build Your Own Burger" menu that allows you to choose which exact toppings you would like. The selection of cheese, veggies, sauces, and misc. toppings is endless. Needless to say, it is an overwhelming decision to make. The good news is that you can't go wrong, no mater what you choose. When I last went with my sister, we had a difficult time choosing an appetizer. They have a variety of loaded fries, boneless wings, salads, soups and other appetizers. We settled on the "Inferno" Loaded Fries, which are deliciously spiced wedge fries topped with hot sauce, fresh habanero salsa and cheddar jack cheese drizzled with ranch and spicy mayo. They were really good! For my burger, I ordered the "Mac Attack" - burger topped with four cheese homemade mac n cheese and bacon. It was divine! My burger was cooked to perfection. The bun was toasted and the toppings were phenomenal! I am eager to return and try another burger! The service at Boston Burger Company was excellent. The wait staff was extremely inattentive, I arrived after my friends had already sat and ordered and no one ever came over to ask if I wanted a drink. Took us 10 mins to flag down the waitress for the bill and then ended up having to bring it up to the register because she never came back. Didn't give us a final printed copy of the receipt when we asked. Also never received my fries that I ordered. Honestly, not really worth the expense. Yes, the burgers are massive but they really lacked flavor and there was too much going on. I've definitely had better burgers for a fraction of the price. We asked for medium and we got really rare/raw. The sweet potato fries were good, but were just fries. Nothing amazing. Also, my burger was supposed to have bacon and jalapeños but my burger did not come with those. We will return but just to try the desserts. Boston Burger is a restaurant that I've been excited to try especially because one of my best friends kept raving about it and I just happened to hop on the bandwagon. My friends and I did a Halloween takeout and the staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs. The staff also practiced covid-19 guidelines: sanitizer, gloves, and face masks. Regarding the menu, there is quite a selection of delectable burgers, sandwiches, and freakfrappe (dessert milkshakes). I ordered the Killer Bee burger which was a delicious well done burger with onion rings, white cheddar cheese, and bacon drizzled with a rich bbq sauce. I also ordered a Strawberry Shortcake FreakFrappe which unexpectedly came with a huge slice of strawberry shortcake with a medium sized milkshake. The food definitely stimulated my Pavlovian instincts but I definitely finished my food feeling like a fat horse. I think having the burger itself is more than enough for someone with a smaller or average appetite. This is a burger joint that you definitely need to come with an empty stomach. Went here after purchasing a groupon this past memorial weekend. Purchased about $25 worth of food and drinks and paid $6.05!!!! We ordered the green monstah and the pilgrim. I love all things that are thanksgiving themed, and that burger was perfect! The green monstah was a guacamole lovers dream! It was like nachos in burger form. Delish! We opted for the side of coke slaw and the homemade chips. Cole slaw wasn't the best that I've had, but tasted vey fresh! We ordered a pick up from this place and I was highly disappointed in terms of the quantity. We ordered 4 burgers and a side of potato fries. The veggie burgers were decent. The chicken burgers were not filling at all, the patty were too small. The quantity of the potato fries was too less for the money $8. I got 4 chips on the side with my burger. And the most disappointing was coleslaw. I mean why did they even gave it to us, it was just a spoon with each burger. It came in the container that we usually take ketchup in MacDonalds (yes that container). I've been here before, always had a good meal. The server was friendly, helpful and did not grimace when I asked for a minor change from the menu item. I recommend the Pig Pile highly. It's like a loaded nachos, but on their onsite made kettle chips. Bacon, pulled pork and I think burnt ends piled with cheese a super delicious coleslaw and a tang mustard sauce. My dad and I both got the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Burger which has pulled pork, Mac & cheese, bbq sauce, onion rings, and pickles. The mixture of creamy Mac and cheese mixed with sweet bbq sauce is always a winner then place a crispy onion ring on it and it puts it over the top. The onion ring also wasn't like most where the onion gets pulled out with the first bite, it stayed in tact so you got onion ring it every bite. My fiancé got the bruschetta burger and said that it was hot while also being refreshing because of the tomato topping. The sides were the only disappointing part of this experience. You get a side of chips and a choice of Cole slaw or baked beans. We all got the baked beans and they were not good, they would have been better off just using Bush's. In the summer, sitting at the table next to the open window, feeling the wind on my face like Juliet standing on her balcony awaiting my beefy beau, I fell in love with Boston Burger Company. It's in Davis Square, in the epicenter, and it's a great place to sit and people-watch as the sun goes down. The food is excellent, and the portions are huge, which is the appropriate ratio (as in, if the food sucked but there was a ton of it, that would be awful - fortunately, this place is a big carousel of deliciousness). The 420 Burger (the burger with the munchies on top of it: onion rings, mac and cheese, et cetera) is great in size and great in quality. I've eaten so many different species of burgers there that it's hard to pick a favorite. I love anything with bacon and an egg, so hopefully that will help. The service is very good. If this place was closer to our house, we would be there constantly! They are GLBTQQIA-friendly, and we've had a lot of bawdy laughs there with local and far-away friends. It is my go-to spot in Davis Square. There are only a few things that detract from BBC's complete, five-star excellence. Sometimes, the music they play is wack, and it is entirely too claustrophobic for a pair of fatties to feel completely comfortable, plus their bathroom is not mobility/access-friendly, and the bathroom's stone wall is covered with troubling white and orange...organisms. Mold? Fungi? I'm not sure, but I *am* sure that I don't like it. However, I like the other orange thing they have there - cheddar cheese! read more
