    The Gravy Train
    Isabella C.

A must-try burger place for burger enthusiasts! This is a very casual but solid spot to grab a burger, with a very extensive menu and lots of combos for everyone's taste. I LOVED my gravy train burger- the cheese curds were thick, salty, and had a nice bite and smothered in gravy with a thick patty. Our service was great too! Super welcoming workers and shout out to our waiter Ryan. He was really friendly and I couldn't be happier with our experience. A cozy spot in Davis Square, and it has me already thinking of my next burger!

A very solid burger place with fair prices in the center of Davis Square. It's not so fancy that you feel the need to dress down, but it certainly doesn't feel like your average American fast food chain either. The beef patty was very juicy, the sauce was bursting with flavor, and the bun was buttery. It's just about everything you could want out of a classic burger. They also have some really fancy-looking milkshakes, so if I'm ever in the area again, I'd want to try one.

Garlic parm chicken 'wings' and pulled pork egg rolls

We got the pulled pork egg rolls... absolutely amazing!!!! I also order the chicken parm wings which were good but I was very confused how these could be considered wings... they are chicken tenders... I feel as though they were mislabeled on the menu because that's not what I expected ... other than that it was very good!

Small place with great eats! My family and I loved everything we had. The burgers were good, a bit messy but still really tasty. I wish they had different veggie burger options. The patty was just okay but it was nice that you could put it on any burger you wanted. Our waiter was extremely attentive and knew what we needed before we could ask! We were seated quickly too which was a big plus!

    The King - very good!

4.5 stars. Came for a casual family lunch and overall had a good dining experience. It is a small venue but the staff was nice enough to move a few tables together for our group. The service was almost too attentive, they frequently asked if we needed anything which was very nice but also a bit sales-y as they tried to offer additional dishes and drinks. The burger and chips were solid, I got The King which was really good. The milkshakes are fun and photogenic but there is so so little milkshake in the actual cup, I wish they would do that thing diner's do where they give you the extra milkshake on the side of the photogenic serving.

Craving a good burger go to this location. I've never had a bad burger or fries here. Cooky and crazy concoctions for burgers come and get your variety 31 to choose from and you can create your own! They've got these freak frappes that look so yummy and wild. They have 14 varieties of fries. If your not in the mood get some boneless wings cuz why not! My favorite burger is the Vermonster apples on your burger what what don't knock it til' you try it! It has bacon, cheddar, a maple aioli instant fall flavors in ya mouth. My friend had the Bruschetta burger and it looked really good light and fresh. All burgers are served w house made chips that are super crisp and golden. Just do it you won't regret it but you may need a stack of napkins on deck lol

    Hot Mess

This was my first time trying this location of Boston Burger Company in Davis Square. It is in a prime location - right off the red line and very accessible. On a Friday night, it wasn't too packed so we were able to get seated right away. The menu here is absolutely insane... the burger choices are wacky and they have pretty much any combination that you could think of. I decided on the "Hot Mess" burger, while my partner ordered the "Vermonter" burger. It's a bit of a disappointment that they don't allow for substitutions for a side of fries (by default you get a side of chips with coleslaw or baked beans), but after receiving your food you quickly will realize that fries might be a bit too much. These burgers are massive and absolutely loaded with toppings. The "Hot Mess" had thousand island dressing, lettuce, sweet potato fries, and more. While the burger was tasty, it was definitely overpowered by everything else going on here. I honestly preferred the taste of the "Vermonter" burger more... the different elements of this burger paired together better in my opinion. The chips and coleslaw were okay, but nothing special at all. Because we're crazy, we also ordered one of their loaded frappes - the s'mores flavor. This frappe was insane. Topped with graham crackers and flame-torched marshmallows, it was overwhelming even for two people to share. Still, it was tasty and unique. If you're coming to this restaurant for a crazy burger/shake experience, you're at the right place!

Just Do it! Include Boston Burger into your plans. I saw the pics. I thought to myself this place has catchy shakes- their food can't be good. I was wrong. I am admitting it. Sorry Boston Burger Company for my judgement. 2 kids, one adult. 3 cookie dough shakes $51 later- no regrets. The cup rolled in vanilla frosting. Cookie cereal bites meticulously lined up in the frosting. A skewer in the shake topped with an ice cream sandwich and a god of cookie dough. Oh wait want more dough, no worries! Dough inside the shake and an extra gob on the side! Chocolate syrup, whit cream and a cherry! It was what cookie dough dreams are made of! The food... The pulled pork egg rolls with fried Mac and cheese... There for it! But the win was the dip they served it with! The 420 burger split three ways because I knew th se kids cannot handle the shake and their own burger! And it was a good assumption. The burger was delicious! Their bbq sauce was very flavorful. Their coleslaw- win! I love a coleslaw that's juicy. The kids loved their potato chips (pretty sure they make their own- cape cod style.) Pro tips: kids can't finish the shakes and the merch is hilarious

Hard Apple Pie A La Mode

I've been to the Cambridge and Boston locations of Boston Burger, but this was my first time trying the Somerville one. I went with a few friends on a Saturday night. This was in October and the windows were open, so there was a significant draft in the room. I ordered the burger bomb, which comes with sautéed peppers, mushrooms, onions, and cheese. I thought the burger was slightly overcooked and part of it tasted like char. We also shared the hard apple pie a la mode freake frappe. I think their normal shakes are really good, but I didn't love the addition of alcohol. Maybe just not for me. Overall, some menu items are great and others are just okay. Great if you're craving a huge burger. The service is standard.

I keep ordering from here through ubereats even though every time I do, they always get at least one thing wrong. I keep ordering because I really love how this food tastes however. This time I got a side Caesar salad, but they gave it to me without any dressing which , in my opinion , Just renders the entire thing not enjoyable. :/ The food is legit so good, which is why I keep giving this place the benefit of the doubt. it's just that every time I order, they get at least one thing wrong, whether it's forgetting an item I ordered, giving me something completely burnt, or giving me a third of the portion of chips than usual. I really enjoy this place and it's flavors. I do, but the consistency when following an order is always a risk.

    420
    Christopher W.

Amazing. I had the 420 and the dish was massive. Two mozzarella sticks, fried mac & cheese, bacon, onion rings and fries covered in honey mustard sauce, and the burger itself. Coming on an empty stomach was the smart idea here. My friend ordered the Pigferno which was also massive and stacked like a tower with the burger, onion rings, spicy mayo, and BBQ sauce. We also ordered the Dry Rub Wings which was also incredible. Only thing I did not like was not having enough stomach space to order some more! Especially one of those crazy shakes, was hoping to order The King Frappe or the Oreo. When I visit Boston again, this will be another must-try-again! Definitely want to try one of those crazy shakes. P.S. There is also a "420 deal" where you only pay $4.20 for the 420 if you go during Monday - Friday from 4:20 pm (to 5:20 pm I believe).

Life is short F....it up Family, Flavor, Friends Small quaint burger place in Davis sq. Ordered the Bomb Burger - sautéed onions mushrooms cheese burger. It was delivered on a lighted grilled bulky roll, homemade chips and baked beans. The chips were tasty especially when u dip it in the baked beans( yeah I know that sounds weird). The burger was as expected although it did not have a lot of seasoning it was cooked on a flat grill and had a great flavor.

We had the "Big Papi" & the "Mac Attack'" & they were stupendously superb !!! Vegan & Gluten free are not spoken here. Front of seating area is open to Davis Sq. Whenever I'm back in the area I will return !!!

It's only open for brunch on Sundays, which combined with always being seated immediately makes it feel like a hidden gem. The back patio is quiet, shaded, and sheltered from wind. The food shines. Of course the egg scramble and the Benedict's were fantastic, but every piece of every plate feels deliberate and done with intention--nothing is an afterthought. - Their home fries are my all-time favorite--thick, well-seasoned, soft on the inside with some crisp on the outside. - - The English muffin toast has a crunchy golden surface and soft inside. - The whipped cream on the French toast feels luxurious. - Oyster shooters are a fun treat, as a lover of both fried clams and bloody Mary's. - They were kind enough to accommodate us with a half order of their (outstanding) French toast for dessert I'd note there's no espresso drinks on the menu, although I did enjoy the black coffee. In particular, there was an orange mezcal cocktail I loved. For brunch, it was good but not great. The pancakes were good, but the eggs Benedict wasn't as good as I hoped. Shrimp cocktail came with half a lemon with OLD BAY seasoning!! Genius! Big shrimp, two sauces were great too, horse radish cream sauce and a classic cocktail sauce which was a tad sweet for me but I'll get over it because I'm all about the lemon and old bay. Cesar salad! Big salad! Wish we shared one. Big garlic croutons with a bit of rosemary and you could taste good olive oil on those. Dressing was very lemony and there was a hefty amount of cheese. I'd say even if you're someone who prefers a creamy Cesar you'd probably still like this because there's a lot of cheese which added great texture. Came with a big grilled lemon which is an A++ move in my book. Husband added grilled chicken to his and said it was great. Next time we'll share a Cesar and I can't wait to go back and try the fried artichokes.

We ordered all three of the mock tails on the menu -- Odin's Oracle was a sparkling elderflower and passion fruit drink, the Northern Rose was fruity with a slight thick cream of coconut base (and the tables favorite!) and the last drink was a warm ginger drink. They all came out looking beautiful. For food, we started with the Halloumi Cheese which was delicious and perfect for sharing (comes with four pieces), then tried the Blueberry Ricotta Cornbread (really well made and yummy but needed a little more butter spread) and the fried burrata (huge serving of burrata with balsamic, fig jam, warm bread, just as good as it sounds). We tried the Braised Short Rib Croquettes which were stuffed with short rib and topped with sooo much yummy cheese. We also had the Pappardelle braised shore rib Ragu which was truly delicious-- would highly recommend. For dessert we tried a special menu bread pudding which was a perfect end to the night. I ordered the D-Luxe and my boyfriend got the Bill Burr. We also started with soups, clam chowder and chili. The soups were good. Fries were really good! The burgers looked good, but then we took a bite. We both got medium, but usually that means pink...not raw. I'm not even lying my burger felt like I was eating raw meat. The meat was still super soft and shredded like. I get pink, but not raw. I was nervous I'd be sick after to be honest. I hate seeing pictures of people's bitten into food online but I felt the need to post it for reference... It's too bad because the vibes were great and everything, and maybe next time it'll be better, but I'd definitely say medium or medium well...
