Liberty did a fabulous job on the tour, and we enjoyed the stories and great historical knowledge. She was also funny and added that great personality to our experience.

Kai took us on a great tour! I love going on ghost walking tours and Kai was by far the best tour guide I've had! Pretty sure we spotted a ghost at the Granary Burying Ground :)

This tour was great. Our guide, Beau, was very knowledgeable and professional. The bar stops were interesting and fun and the stories were entertaining. Would definitely recommend!

So.much fun!! Jack was a great host, and so much fun. We stuck to the regular tour, and there were plenty of stops. I loved the story about the traveling salesman that stayed in the Omni Parker Hotel

Lily was so smart and knowledgeable about the stories she shared on our walk, I would go again in a heartbeat and book specifically with her! She persevered through some late-night jackhammering that could only be described as "classic Boston" and I could tell she's from here and she loves it!

Now this tour may not be for everyone, as the title of the tour alludes to.. but if you don't mind the random swear word and aren't easily offended, you'll be like me... cracking up for 3 hours straight. And there was one thing I noticed about Anthony that he doesn't advertise, and may try to track me down for saying on here.... But beneath the gruff exterior was the sweetest guy that seemed genuinely interested in sharing his culture, stories, and amazing food with everyone! We started off at a pizza joint where we got a slice of pizza and an arancini ball. I expected the pizza to be good... and it was fantastic. But I am not a huge fan of arancini and this one had peas in it... also something I am not a huge fan.... But hey, I was on a food tour so I was going to try everything! Thank goodness I did, because this arancini was the stuff of dreams. How in the world could something be THAT much better than what high end Italian restaurants advertise? The last time I had an arancini ball was at a restaurant in Hawaii that won "best Italian food in Hawaii".... And it was only so-so. This arancini ball would make me fly 5,000 just to eat it again! Next up was a deli sub, a coffee shop, ravioli, a pastry shop and lastly an affogato (or gelato if you didn't want coffee that late in the day). Based on the food I received, before factoring in all the stories that Anthony shared, I feel the tour was really underpriced. I wish I hadn't done this the tour on my last day, I would have gone back for another round of everything we tried, as well as everything that was recommended. Heck I may have signed up for the tour again just to experience it all over again!

If you've been dying for an excuse to check out one of those lavish historic homes on Beacon Hill,…read moregive this one a try. The tour is inexpensive ($5) and the house is gorgeous, with period furnishings mixed in with modern recreations. I would presume that the tour groups are typically small because it's not one of those "must-see" locations. Even so, it's right next to the Common (across from the Frog Pond), just a couple hundred feet from the State House so the location is very easy to find. Take the T to Park Street, for example, or park in the garage under the Common. The tour itself was led by a very friendly guide. Most of the tour seemed to focus on architecture or, more specifically, how the home changed over the years. I was not entirely interested; what usually drives me to visit a historic house is the person (or people) connected to it. In this case, I heard very little about William Hickling Prescott (a well-respected historian who was nearly blind) - up until the end. Inexplicably, there also was a focus on the American Revolution and how Boston was made up of landfill (neither aspects were relevant to this house). My guess is they were catering to the out-of-towners. Ultimately, I wouldn't call the Prescott House a hidden gem. But, it's worth a visit for folks that don't mind taking a few steps off the Freedom Trail (after all, there's more to Boston than a red line).

The architecture is exquisite (interesting as subsequent generations made updates and you see that progression), the furniture wonderful, the costumes amazing (the accessories are just breathtaking!) and the stories of the people who called this place home really bring the house to life. Thanks to the Colonial Dames of America for preserving this piece of our past and opening it to the public. Hard core history buffs should definitely visit!

Was investigating Boston…read moreFreedom Trail tour options online and was given a link on bostonusa.com after being redirected from thefreedomtrail.org site, while preparing for our first family visit to Boston, MA. Apparently COVID-19 has suspended all Freedom Trail Foundation led tours at the moment (summer 2021) so was looking for something to engage our kids' interest while we walked Boston's Freedom Trail. Let's face it... just walking and looking at the Freedom Trail will be absolutely boring to most kids. Tour guides in normal clothes & just talking to us... PASS! Donning historically accurate clothing and talking with an accent, and website claims of "good at engaging young people"... HUZZAHHH! Winner, WINNER! Setting up the tour over the phone was not difficult at all. Phone calls were returned promptly. Donald Watson was the point man for organizing the details of our jaunt on The Trail. We were even allowed to alter the start time to facilitate additional commitments later in the day. Flexibility! Thank you!! When the Freedom Trail day arrived, we finally met Mr. Watson in person, and he was quite the cheery chap! Donned in clothing that was circa 1776 and sportin' an accent that was easily understood. He took the role of Sons Of Liberty member James Otis. Allowed us some time to finish our on the run breakfast too, before starting our tour at the Boston Common Visitor Center. We confirmed everyone was COVID-19 vaccinated, so... Everyone ready?!? YES! And off we went! Good pace to the walking tour, never felt rushed, always waited for everyone to catch up before talking, answered all questions with an obvious depth of knowledge! Had us all yelling "FIE!" And "HUZZAH!" throughout the tour as we hit 11 of the Freedom Trail sites. We finished at Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market, all VERY happy our experience, all exuberantly saying "FIE!" when Mr. Watson announced "We've reached the end our tour." HAH! All the families wanted to get pictures with Mr. Watson, cuz we "kinda" enjoyed our jaunt with him way too much ;) VERY EASY RECOMMENDATION! As a comparison, we also took the Boston Duck Tour and this was FAR MORE enjoyable for our party of 12, age range 12-52. Enjoy! We sure did! :)
