Holy shit, what a gas... As part of our social engagement for work. We were designated to go on a bus tour of the Boston scene. Not necessarily the usual Boston, the underground Boston. Mobsters and Lobsters is a mafia story laden trip that ends up at the south shore popular lobster eatery. Although Mother Nature and the traffic in downtown Boston decided yo play games with us the owner who's name actually is Tom Collins, started off with a quick quip yo get the folks settled and the first round of beverages were begun. Tom brings us around to the spectacular locations and spots where specific mobsters from the years past were doing their cunning and not so cunning work. Tom's knowledge for this thoroughly interesting topic is unmatched. His serious knowledge of the history of other significant historical places and events speckled with his dry "Bastan" humor. Made this trip extremely worthwhile. The duration was four hours long which also included a Lobster dinner at a local eatery on the south Boston harbor. I haven't laughed this hard in a long while. If you are in beantown for a spell. I highly recommend you and you motley crew join Tom for an interesting alcohol added trip back in time. The party bus!!! So fun. One of the best birthday experiences I have had. You can book the bus for a minimum of four hours and as many stops as you would like. our bus driver was great and incredibly helpful. He knew of extra bars to stop by that do not include covers and free shots for the birthday person. He also stopped for hotdogs at one point. it is byob and your own playlist. There is truly no experience quite like it where you can jam to music and drink, while driving around Boston. Would recommend for any occasion. read more

My company plans trips yearly to a new place with some kind of sightseeing or activity. This is by far my favorite of anything we have ever done. We learned a lot of interesting mobster history, in an open air trolley, where they served us beer,,wine, white claws on the trolley. Perfectly timed bathroom stops . BUT for me ---- what made the experience so awesome was our driver and owner of this company . He was so funny he had our trolley laughing all day long. After our first stop, which was Fenway Park, we were actually running a bit late to our lobster dinner so they grabbed snacks for the group. I booked a Mobsters & Lobsters tour of Boston for a group of out-of-town colleagues who were in Boston for a few days for a company meeting. The whole process went perfectly smoothly and the tour was a hoot! Booking the tour was easy and the M&L staff know Boston very well, so they were able to suggest good pick-up and drop-off spots. The tour was fun and informative, but most importantly the tour guides are so funny and engaging! We had a small group of 8 people and the guide made every effort to keep everyone laughing and engaged. Dinner at Venezia was OK, not amazing. The view was nice and service was attentive but the food was about average. The M&L joined us for the meal and kept us entertained with stories of Boston history. This was such a fun event for my team! We are in Kendal Square so they were able to pick us up from the office. We took a group picture with Ashley the lobster before we boarded which was a great way to kick off the night. The trolley was fun to ride in, and our tour guide was hilarious, we laughed the whole time. It was also nice to know this is a family run business. Our driver was very knowledgeable and informative. The price was great for what we got as well. It was so nice to have a dinner included so I did not have to worry about it. They made my job easy and made me look good. Great way to learn about a great little city and some colorful history! Tom is a down to earth true Bostonian and so easy to listen to. I was in town for a small conference, and our local host arranged for the group to do "Mobsters and Lobsters". The driver (owner?), Tom, was an excellent story teller, and seemed to really enjoy telling all of us about the history of Boston's shadier elements. Despite the weather, everyone seemed to have a good time. The restaurant, Venezia (?) surprised me...for the better. The clam chowder was really excellent, and the lobster also really good. Where do I even begin? Being a 100% Italian with some basic knowledge and a whole lot of interest in the Italian mob, I had high expectations for this tour. Let me just say, Tom Collins and the Boston Trolley Tour company shattered those expectations! From the very moment you step on the trolley, you're greeted by the one and only Tom Collins (and yes, that is his real name). Tom is a funny guy with a serious Boston accent who knows his stuff. In fact, I've never been more interested in hearing someone talk for an entire hour straight than I was during our tour. Tom takes you throughout Boston, into Southie and finally you end up at the lovely Venezia restaurant on the water in Dorchester. Being a Dorchester resident, I've already had the pleasure of frequenting the Venezia but for those of you who haven't been...this is the icing on the already delicious cake. Overall, the fun, interesting tour combined with the delicious dinner at the end is everything you could ask for and more in an event.
