Decided to stop at this location to grab a quick snack. Purchased a beef patty for $3.78. While driving tried what was the WORST patty I have ever had! It was cold dried out mess! I am so glad I didn't try anything else from this location. I can't understand how a "resturant" has no quality control methods! If this is what the rest of the food is like I'm glad I kept my money. If the small things get by no way would I expect a meal to be any better! Save your money unless you just like wasting it and still be hungry! read more

***False Advertisement Alert*** Menu prices are different from what's being charged at time of payment. My receipt showed a higher charge than what's on the overhead menu. I mentioned this to an employee and she "nonchalantly" said it would be fix and refused to return the difference in price. read more

I really wanted to like this place and I do kinda like it. They have a couple things they could do to raise this to 5 stars. You can easily see this place from the street and it is a stand alone building that sticks out. The parking lot is half paved. I came in and both menu signs were out. The menus are on two TVs. They did not have any printed menus. Good thing I already knew what I wanted. I ordered the Large Oxtails with yellow rice. They charged 4% for using a credit card. They did not have a bathroom for customers. I got my food and the oxtails were cold. The rice and cabbage were warm but the oxtails were cold with warm gravy. So disappointing. Genuinely if I could I would give NO STARS I would!!! It's so disappointing, seeing that I used to come here a lot due to working down the street. But come to think about it now I could throw up. I'm no longer in the area, but on Saturday January 31st. I passing through and road past the restaurant. I said to myself, I'm going to make it my mission to grab a plate before leaving that side of town. I so happened to their last customer because they were closing early due to the weather, it was snowing. Although I felt a little rushed. The young lady took my order, which was a small jerk chicken plate. In which I was told, they will no longer have mac & cheese and to my understanding vegetables as well. So I ended up with extra rice and peas and just jerk chicken and was charged the full plate. My food was brought to me by an older woman with gray short hair and she was short. I get home and open the plate. The food looks ok/eatable at the time. Into my second bite, I noticed something shiny and white on my spoon. Seeing how I'm Jamaican and we use a lot of herbs and spices I didn't think anything of it. But something told me to pull it out before taking another bite. Sure enough it was a gray/white short strand of hair. I immediately ran to the bathroom and tried to make myself vomit. Sorry TMI!!! Once I was able to get back to the plate. I took a more thorough look. Just find another piece of short gray/white hair. Clearly two different sizes, pieces of hair. At this point, I'm disappointed and disgusted all at the same time. Knowing most Jamaican places are closed on Sundays in the US. I went ahead and took a picture of the receipt food in Hear fount and proceeded to throw the food away. Seeing I was not planning on returning to that side of town yet along that restaurant. I had to wait to call Monday, which is today, for a refund. The lady who answered the phone sounded like the same lady who handed me my food with the short gray hair. Which I thought was good because it would make more sense speaking to her. But clearly not I was yelled at and accused of possibly putting gray hair in my $13 plate of food and that my pictures does not matter. Which I thought was wild, seeing she has gray hair, but clearly did not want to admit. If you ever got food here, I'm pretty sure you would recognize their jerk chicken and the black to-go containers. As well as the side of sauce. Personally, they can keep the measly $13 they clearly need it to buy hairnet and gloves. This establishment probably would not even pass a health check, come to think of it. No one deserves to pay, with their hard earned money for a plate of hair. DON'T LET THOSE DARK SAUCES, FOOL YOU!!! PLEASE CHECK YOUR FOOD!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE. jerk pork was good rice & peas well done luv it pork tender and juice but the jerk chicken gotta be revisited. Don't know if he was having a bad day today. It's not the best I've had. I'm Jamaican by Bertch American by choice. I did not like the food cake, cold and sweet raisins and fruits in it too obvious. ambience was OK nice small restaurant and clean. Service was mixed. The gentleman was very pleasant very engaging, but there was a female there. She must've been having a bad day. Customer service is key. You know its good when authentic Jamaicans are working and coming here to get food. Ordered the oxtails and brown stew chicken both very good flavorful. Some people think jerk is just spice but the food was very well seasoned. Food was prepared quickly and came out hot and fresh. The jerk chicken was dry, not one bit of sauce , it almost seemed as thought it had been reheated several times because it was stiff. The rice had just a tiny bit of oxtail gravy . My sister and I visited this restaurant today and the food and customer service was awful. My sister took one forkful of the food but couldn't eat anymore because the food was very salty. I encouraged her to take it to the counter and ask for patties instead. The counter person told her that they "don't cook with salt." He said something to the cook who then barged out of the kitchen and cursed out my sister. He did not try to correct the issue, offer an apology but instead cursed her out loudly in front of the other customers. I ate here for lunch one day a couple of weeks ago. Ordering at the counter, I had the oxtails (large meal) over rice with cabbage and plantains for $12. The serving was large and well worth the money. The food tasted very good. The gravy was also very good. This meal was very filling and made me happy. The dining room was clean and had a tv. The restroom requires you getting a key from the ordering counter. It was clean. I would happily return. Counter service was friendly. I had to knock a star off for the facilities and lack of vegetarian options. Good food, friendly staff, but you will feel like you are at someone's house given that the staff are watching tv in the main dining room. Lots of drink options, my food came out hot and fresh, and the cashier was super helpful. Unsolicited Suggestions ... Pave the parking, because I drove the VW and left the Combat Earthmover home. I almost fell into a pothole and shot off an embankment at the same time. It's rough. The cashier seemed very confused when I asked for a vegetable curry plate. I didn't think it was that complicated. To her credit, she went above and beyond to prepare me something nice, and it was delicious. I asked her why her Yelp ratings were low, because the staff was so nice... she said the manager had been discouraged by reviews and they were trying to make a comeback. You got to love that. I will definitely eat here again, I appreciate their efforts to make the facilities and service match the quality of the food. When I tell you this place pissed me off like nobody's business I mean it. For starters I waited 30 minutes for take out only to find out the unfriendly woman at the counter didn't ring up my curry chicken or breadfruit. I asked her where the food was after getting tired of waiting. How y'all don't have food ready when I'm there at 10:56 and the doors open at 11? SMH! They are slow: Prices are reasonable - $10 for jerk pork but the sauce was too salty patties (jerk chicken + beef) were 10/10 And very good $1.79 Drinks - $3.50 which is too high - pineapple ginger was 6/10 - too much ginger. I asked the girl where the plantains were and she said they were coming. I'm lost on how folks coming 10+ minutes after me have all their food. I will not return! While on the way to my doctors appt. I stopped by Boston Jerk Center for lunch. I ordered the lunch special $3.99. They portion sizes are good but the food looked like leftovers. I could tell that the meat wasn't fresh, the plantains weren't either. The interesting part is that there was a long line of customers waiting to order.
