The two young women who led the event were absolutely wonderful managing several 4 and 5 year olds. Everyone had the best time, and I had parents telling me how much their kid loved it. Some said they would be signing their kid up for lessons! My one criticism is that it is pretty hard to reach someone about birthdays. I had left several messages and it took a few days for someone to return my car. It was much better once we were emailing, although I did have to email a few days before the event to confirm and ask when we could get in to decorate.

My daughter had a hard time doing kartwheels and got no help at all while practicing, and felt defeated a few weeks in a row with a specific instructor who paid no attention to help her. Other instructor were better, but not all were created equal. I found the facility dirty and smelly, but tolerated it because the kids enjoyed it. We decided to try out the summer camp the following summer and I enrolled my daughter, who was 5 at the time, in for a few weeks. It was going fine until the third day I dropped her off. She was having a hard time with me leaving, and the young instructor was not particularly helpful. She gave her some coloring pages and was sitting with her talking to other instructors as I walked out of the building. I got in my car and a few minutes later started to drive away. I looked in my rearview mirror and saw my daughter had run out of the building alone into the parking lot looking for me. I jumped out of my car in a panic and grabbed her. When I walked back into the building, there was ZERO concern that they had not supervised my child and had not even noticed she had run out of the building. They looked at me like I was overreacting when I explained my concern. I was horrified by the lack of professionalism and disregard for my child. I will never return or recommend anyone to this facility.

My daughter has been with BGC for a few months now and has fallen in love with gymnastics because of them. She's tried the other sports like basketball and soccer but never showed much interest in them at all. I've noticed huge difference in her attitude since she started taking classes there. She seems to be so much happier now and really looks forward to going to her classes each week. The new owners have done an amazing job since taking over. They are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and have made so many positive changes. They truly care about the safety and well-being of all the children.

The Hip Hop class at the Dance Complex is fun and Carl the instructor is great! Carl is good with breaking down the steps, he is encouraging and enthusiastic. The people attending the class are awesome too and very friendly. I would consider the Hip Hop class to be slightly for beginners and more for intermediate and up dancers. It's great to get out there and dance whether you are a beginner or not. There is no judgement in the class and it's fun because we are all learning together. Prior to working with Carl and Boston Mobile Dance Studio, I had been taking lessons from an instructor in NYC who had quite an impressive resume including choreography for numerous major music artists and music videos. I only say this because I can at least compare my experience with Carl with my prior instructor/company. Carl is incredibly talented, patient, hard working, and enthusiastic. His body of work speaks for itself. His ability to break down complex technical dance and then teach it in a way that is clear, logical, and understandable has been the key to expeditiously improving my dance skills. His teaching methods are fun and high-intensity. What I appreciate most about Carl is how he tailors our sessions to exactly what I need. He goes above and beyond our dance sessions...it is not uncommon for him to continue our lesson outside of the studio (on his own time). I have been impressed by how he even follows up with me between sessions via text to check on my progress and see if I have further questions or need additional video work to clarify what we worked on. He allows me to video each session so that I have plenty to work on between sessions. He even sometimes does bonus video work outside of the session to emphasize critical skills to work on. Carl also teaches critical components of engaging the audience/crowd through facial expression/body language and gives real-life scenarios where he uses specific techniques to engage his audience in different contexts. As a busy professional, my schedule is quite busy- Carl works around my schedule every week. He is very flexible and offers multiple dance studios to work in depending on my needs. Sorry for the long-winded review, but I can't say enough about Carl and Boston Mobile Dance. Carl has taken my dance to another level... I can't recommend him enough!

She makes everything look effortless in her demonstrations before each set of exercises and provides alternatives and modifications as needed. I accepted and off we went to Gstarfit. It was only a short ride from the office an after parking, we walked in and I got to meet the owner/founder Gregg. Gregg is unlike anyone I've met in the fitness profession. He comes off as a hard ass but is, in fact just intense. And nice. After a short chat with him about his gym and how they operate, I could immediately tell that he knew his stuff and had quite a bit of experience in the field. He essentially created Gstarfit around his stylish vision of what a gym should and could be like. Gone are the neon-lit, depression concrete walls that you find everyone and instead you'll find a lot of wood in the decor, some mirrors and some pretty stylish furniture. It gives the whole place a very original look unlike anything I've seen in gyms. And while the place isn't huge, it definitely does the job. It has multiple room including one that is dedicated to spinning and which features about twenty or so bikes. Decor aside, the gym itself is clean and there's all kinds of equipment available for anyone looking to do either cardio or lifting. Pretty standard and nothing out of the ordinary there. They also offer classes, anywhere from 1 to 6. It varies depending on the day of the week and the schedule is quite inconsistant. They only offer one class on Tuesdays somehow, but six on Mondays? Must be a staffing thing. Speaking of which, they have trainers available for private instructing if necessary. Last but not least is their rates, which vary from $50 (students) to $150 per month for the a-list tier which gives you the right to reserve a bike for spin class. While more expensive than your average gym... well... this isn't your average gym. It is a lot more intimate and they give you a lot more personal attention there. I would have totally remained as a member there had I not changed jobs - honestly, if you can afford it, you should definitely check it out, especially if you work or live in the area, or happen to drive on 95/128 near Dedham/Needham/Waltham/Newton.
