I was referred to Bridget by the MGH Dermatology's Laser & Cosmetic Center after many sessions with a negligent medspa, LaserMD on Newbury Street. At LaserMD, the treatments were causing me to grow much more hair than I originally started with. Since they kept telling me that I would just need more treatments, I decided to consult with a dermatologist from MGH. The doctor looked at me and immediately knew that laser was extremely inappropriate for me because of my skin type, my ethnicity and hair patterns on the rest of my body. It was at this appointment where I learned what was happening to me had a name. It is clinically known as laser induced hypertrichosis. He gave me Bridget's business card and I called her immediately. When she picked up the phone she was warm, affirming, and solution-oriented. She said to me "we'll fix this whole mess!" and that is exactly what she did. I went to her office for a free, long, detailed and scientific explanation of what electrolysis is and how it works. She even did a test patch to show me how it would feel. From the get-go, she was very upfront with how long the treatment would take, the frequency of my visits, and pricing. She noticed that I had acne and told me that doing electrolysis would reduce it because the cause of my acne was not hormonal, it was because of the constant regrowth of hair. I didn't believe it at first, but the results prove she was right; my skin has completely cleared up and I no longer get pimples save for the occasional hormonal kind around my menstrual cycle. Bridget is incredibly educated on all things hair removal and skincare (and she knew about laser induced hypertrichosis). She continues her education by going to dermatology conferences not because she has to, but because she wants to provide the very best care for her clients. She runs her business with high ethical standards and a client-first mentality (which is hard to find). The voluntary intellectual work she partakes in translates to incredible results for her clients. I thought electrolysis was going to hurt terribly, but it doesn't at all. I found that laser on my face was 20x more painful. I've dozed off during sessions with Bridget before because she's that skillful. Her bedside manner is unlike anything I've seen in this industry, she does a great job building rapport with her clients. Her technical know-how is the reason I began to see results immediately and continue to see them after not having treatment for months. I go to see Jennfier for chem peels and she is excellent. I am a black woman with medium-toned skin and she is clearning up acne scars, cysts and uneven patchy skin tone. Often, black women cannot go for chem peels, because the risk of permanent scarring is very real. Jennifer carefully applies the solution and watches closely my skin's reactions. She does not let me do more frequent peels than I need (even when I insist!) and she is very committed to making sure my skin not only looks good, but is healthy. She does not do aggressive cleansing or removals. She gives me good advice on what to do and not to do so that I don't cause permanent damage to my skin and has taught me that handling my face more gently using softer products (no apricot scrubs ladies!) - actually is more beneficial to me in the long run. Bridgett does hair removal that is truly amazing. Other place I have been to have burned me, caused bleeding or scars, and then still had the hair keep coming back over and over. I don't know how she manages to not make it hurt as badly as other people I've been to. And I don't have to keep going back. She may zap a hair 3 times or over 2 sessions and it is gone, never to return. The office is small, clean, and cute. They apparently have plans to expand the space eventually. It is easy to get to and is right on the corner by the T Stop. I really like their magazine choices. High-end upscale magazines like Bazaar and Elle and some fancier ones that I would never buy myself? But am happy they've spent the money to purchase. The price is excellent and about par / a bit lower than other places in town, because there is a discount if you buy more than one. But their pricing doesn't force you to buy 5 or 10 in a series, you can do two or three - which makes more sense given people are using their money differently. I can't think of any negatives to say about the place. It is as good as many places I've been on Newbury Street and Lexington. But it is better than those places, because they aren't just putting me in rotation. They really care about my skin and they really care about me as more than a customer. I am from NYC and moved to Boston 5 years ago. I have always experience hair problems but have only experiences a bunch of people who wanted my $$ rather than to help me. I have gone to the top people Manhattan has to offer and have been ripped off by thousands and these people some how manage to keep their businesses. I have the darkest hair you will find and need special attention. Four years ago I went to MGH for a laser appointment and was so tired of dealing with the laser as I felt electrolysis would be best for me , where I was referred to Bridget. I have been with Bridget twice a week sometimes more for 4 years now through multiple locations up to the creation of Boston Skin Solutions. I can say that Bridget has changed my life and I wish everyone I knew would go to her. She cares about each client and only wants the best for us. I left for NYC for 4 months for a job and had to deal with another evil electrolysis in Manhattan who only had 7 am openings and left me feeling red and broke. I promise everyone when I move back to NYC this year I will continue to come up once a month to see Bridget because I am determine to stay loyal to someone who deserves it. She has given me back the confidence that I didn't have when I was younger and makes me happy to return to her every week. She cares about all businesses and is a smart business woman who will continue to grow her business. Bridget is a godsend. Truly. Thanks to a pesky condition called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), I have hair in all the damn places I don't want it. I've now been getting hair removal since I was 19 (I am now 33). I wish I could have found Bridget earlier. Having spent all my years at all the big name places that do nothing but fill you with false promises and lousy lasers (my settings were always set really low so they could make sure I never stopped going there!), I can't tell you what it's like to go somewhere you are actually valued as a human being (and not as a dollar sign). Bridget won't try to sell you a bunch of products you don't need or try to make you sign up for costly packages - she just gives it to you straight and without all the bullshit and hype. But more than that, she actually knows what she is doing and she is well versed on hair/skin issues, which is kind of hard to come by these days. I finished my last laser hair removal treatment today and I couldn't be happier! Not only is Bridget very personable, but she is also incredibly knowledgeable and wants her clients to be informed about the entire process before the first treatment. Although the place is relatively small, it is clean and has the best equipment. I bought a package of four laser hair removal treatments, and I surprisingly only needed five (barely!). Bridget is also very accommodating- I have a busy schedule and she books up quickly, but she is willing to come in early or stay late if you are in need of an appointment. Do not go to the chain med spas that offer a package with "unlimited treatments". A friend of mine has had over 10 treatments from a med spa on Newbury Street and still isn't hair free, while I only need 4.5 treatments with Bridget! read more

For anyone looking to get electrology done, Bridget is the best, and I do mean THE BEST, electrologist in the city. In fact, she's probably better than most in the country. I was terrified to try it to the first time, not only because I have had previous negative experiences, but my skin is very sensitive and the hair so fine that it is so easy to scab and scar. I've been a client of Bridget's for about 10 years. She is fantastic and I can't say enough about her! I've been a customer of BSS since I moved to the area 2+ yrs ago. Bridget is great about explaining how the process of electrolysis vs laser works, including the pros and cons of both, and also recommends which series of treatments is best for your skin and hair type. I think her prices are good, too. Also been going to her for facials, which have also been a big help with maintaining my skin. I honestly don't know where I'd be without Bridget. Her electrology is outstanding, probably the best in Boston. Period. She stays on top of all the current equipment and her hydromicrodermabrasion thingy is excellent. I have wrinkles in my forehead & after leaving the treatment my forehead was totally smooth. Bridget is really great! I go to her for facials and laser hair removal. My skin always looks and feels fantastic after treatments, and I continue to get compliments weeks after getting them. I had laser hair removal here and they did a great job. I had like 5 treatments and the hair is gone! I went to other offices a few times and always chickened out. My friend goes to Bridget for electrolysis so I went to check it out. I immediately felt ok with her - she knows everything! I like the moisturizer they sell, too.
